How to extract .sit mac icon archives??

I need some help I´m configuring my fvwm at the moment. and therefore i´m looking to get some nice icons. So I downloaded somenice collections. But this files are mostly archives for mac os. How can i handle/extract this ones or how can i convert it.
volker@LegBox:~$file 0519_appbubbles.sit
0519_appbubbles.sit: StuffIt Archive
Thanks so far[/code]

Since Aladdin Systems controls the source code for StuffIt, your only choice when you receive an .sit file is to use the Aladdin Expander for Linux, which is currently in beta (but quite usable). Aladdin Systems has made the beta available to the public as freeware: you do not have to pay cash for it, but you do not get access to the source code either. Currently there are no tools for Linux that will create .sit archives.
To decompress an .sit archive, type unstuff archive.sit. The extracted files will go into the present working directory unless you use the -d option, which lets you specify the destination directory: unstuff -d=/home/james/oldmacfiles archive.sit If the file you unpack was protected with a password, use the -p option: unstuff -p=secret archive.sit. The text file translation filer option takes care of translating end-of-line characters from LF to CRLF and back again: unstuff -text=auto -eol=unix archive.sit.

  • Removing ".mac" icon in menu bar?

    greetings,
i've recently installed 10.5 on my G5. it turns out that there is a ".mac" icon in the upper right of the menubar. i can't seem to remove it... it's next to the "spaces" icon... when i select the icon, it give me the option to open ".mac sync prefs"... i see no option to remove the icon from the menubar... interestingly enough, i recently got a macbook pro and it does not have that icon on the menubar.
the G5 and MBPro have the same window for the ".mac", with field for "member name" and password...
i used to have an account on .mac when it was originally free then i paid for a year when it started to be a subscription... but i didn't use it, so i didn't renew it... but that was obviously many years ago... when i first opened the preference window, it had my old ".mac" account name. i think it must have preserved my account name over the years of computer upgrades and OS upgrades... obviously, i didn't have a password for an account that was closed probably 7 years ago... anyway, regardless of whether i keep a name in the field or not, i see no other tabs in the pref window or any check boxes to turn off the icon...
because i have many many programs and windows open for may tasks i do concurrently, i am somewhat obsessive about reducing distracting clutter like unused or unwanted icons etc. i always remove all menu options, tool bar buttons, doc items, finder sidebars, etc. that i don't use... then it is easier to find and access just what i use... this will drive me a bit crazy until i can remove it...
i'd appreciate any suggestions about how to remove the ".mac" icon from the menubar... any suggestions, third party utilities, yanking out a preference file, terminal command to kill a process?
    thanks-

    wow, many helpful responses!
command + mouse worked... never learned that trick before for menubar...
interestingly, the pref pane in sys prefs does not show the "show in menu" unless one actually has ".mac" info filled in... before when i first opened the ".mac" pref and it had my old ".mac" info from about 7 years ago, i did see a check box in the lower part of the window. but everything was greyed out and it wanted a password before i could access anything in the pane... my mac os password didn't work and after a few tries for what i thought might be other passwords from a long time ago, the interface stopped asking and change the window to only show a place to put in login info... the check box was gone and also the "tabs" in that pref window went away too... so after that there was no check box visible any longer... but the command + mouse worked fine... so problem solved...
as a side note, i tried command + mouse to get rid of the timbuktu menu icon... on my work computer, the IS people install timbuktu, which puts an awful icon next to the menu clock. over the years, i found that the only way to remove it was to delete the program... there was a version years ago that install something in a library that could be found with global searches (pre spotlight), but that changed with a version probably 6 years ago... i discovered that just throwing timbuktu in the trash, emptying trash, and rebooting was always the surefire way to get rid of it... if timbuktu stayed on the hard drive anywhere, it would always reappear... Command+mouse, which i've just tried, does not remove the timbuktu icon... so into the trash it will go...
    anyway, thanks to everyone!

  • How to extract .bin file on mac?

    Dear Team,
How to extract .bin file on mac os ? please help me
    regards,
    kalai

Although the link posted by the other responder shows .bin files to be a copy of RAW CD or DVD data in my experience most .bin files are some type of configuration file mainly used with internet routers and other pieces of PC/Networking equipment.
Just where did this .bin file come from and what is it associated with that you are trying to open on your Mac?
If it is a router configuration file that you downloaded you don't open it on the Mac. You log into your router and go to the update firmware section and browse to that file stored on your Mac hard drive and let the router handle opening and updated the routers firmware.

How do I update my icon on my Mac Desktop?

I can only surmise you are running 10.6.6 or later, since the Mac App Store became available then.  Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac and tell us your Mac OS X version.    Some Mac OS X versions could have their icons changed, while others could not.   I can get a moderator to move this thread to the correct forum once I know your version and know whether or not I can answer this question.

  • How to extract audit log data from every document library in site collection using powershell?

    Hi All,
I have n number of document library in one site collection,
My query is- How to extract audit log data from every document library in a site collection using powershell?
Please give solution as soon as possible?

    Hi inguru,
For SharePoint audit log data, These data combine together in site collection. So there is no easy way to extract audit log data for document library.
As a workaround, you can export the site collection audit log data to a CSV file using PowerShell Command, then you can filter the document library audit log data in Excel.

  • How to extract TEXT for archived Purchase Orders ?

    Hi Friends,
Can any one tell me how to extract TEXT for archived Purchase Orders ?
I have used READ_TEXT but that is not fetching texts for archived PO's. Whenever I am trying to fetch data from STXH against archived PO, no value is coming and resulting SY_SUBRC <> 0.
Any demo code will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance..
    Sivaji

    Hi,
You can see that table STXH is linked to archiving object MM_EKKO (you can see it in tcode DB15).
My suggest is that you must get the data. See the demo object BC_SBOOK in tcode AOBJ. You can see the report to reload data. The object is get the data in an internal table. So for report SBOOKR you can see this function module:
    *   get data records from the data container
    *   SBOOK
        CALL FUNCTION 'ARCHIVE_GET_TABLE'
          EXPORTING
            archive_handle        = lv_handle
            record_structure      = 'SBOOK'
            all_records_of_object = 'X'
          TABLES
            table                 = lt_sbook_tmp
          EXCEPTIONS
end_of_object         = 0.         "not entries of this type
    *   check lt_sbook_tmp entries against selections. Delete not
    *   requested entries
        LOOP AT lt_sbook_tmp ASSIGNING <ls_sbook>
                             WHERE carrid IN s_carrid
                               AND connid IN s_connid
                               AND fldate IN s_fldate.
          APPEND <ls_sbook> TO lt_sbook.
        ENDLOOP.
        REFRESH lt_sbook_tmp.
The idea is that you get the same data that you handle in READ_TEXT (because you don't have the data in database) and recovery the text.
    I hope this helps you

  • How to Unzip a Mac OS X Archive in Java

I have a JAR with install pieces that I'm unzipping during installation. Simple enough. Except that one of them is a little OS X utility app & the app doesn't work. It seems that OS X includes "extras" under the file "MACOSX__", which is visible in the archive (causes non-Mac uses no end of annoyance). Unzipping the archive in the Mac's Finder or via the Mac's command line uncompresses the stuff correctly, but in Java, there's no inherent knowledge of the Mac parts. So is there a technical page on that somewhere? How can I restore the "MACOSX__" stuff so that the compressed app actually runs again?
    Thanks, Dan

I am getting annoyed by the site-specific icons that appear next to the location bar. I thought there was a way to disable these icons but I cannot find it. Is there any way to get rid of these icons on my screen?

You can set these prefs to false on the about:config page.
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.chrome.favicons
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.chrome.site_icons
To open the ''about:config'' page, type '''about:config''' in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

  • How to make site root-relative links work in DW and Server both?

See details on buggy DW image link behavior, below. My question is:
    1) how to make site root-relative links work in DW and Server both? Or…
    2) how to reliably automate the change of several hundred legacy root-relative links of the form
    /images/image.jpg  to document-relative?
    That is, to
    ../images/image.jpg or
    ../../images/image.jpg or
../../../images/image.jpg etc…depending on where the directory is.
The old format (/images/image.jpg ) used to work fine in my previous DW 8 configuration but appear grey in DW after “upgrading” to DW cs5.5 mac. (they look fine on the server, but it’s hard to edit image-heavy pages locally when they are all grey).
I tried changing the files to how DW creates root relative links now:
/public_html/images/image.jpg, which is a very easy, attractive root flow since there’s a one-to-one mapping. These look great in DW but are broken on the server!
I looked at the “advanced” site setup, and it looked like it might be possible to nuke the /public_html/ part of my server info…but it also looked like there was the potential for doing damage changing these settings, which are automatically generated from our server connection settings, which seem to work.
The “links relative to document/ site root” toggle…does that change how DW interprets existing links, or just change the default when you are adding a link?  I have made 80% of the file links document relative…before wondering if root-relative isn’t better?
It sure seems less ambiguous for all those images if theres a way to make root relative work for DW design view, DW link check, and server.
Summary of buggy behavior: (see test with images here)
    "old style" site root link
          /images/img_book/WScover120x150_NEW.jpg
Design veiw in DW: broken (grey w/ broken icon)
Link check in DW: "external link" (i.e., uncheckable, + file could appear orphaned)
          Browser: good
Ease of switching: n/a (existing format)
"new style" site root relative link

          Design veiw in DW: good
          Link check in DW: good
          Browser: broken
          Ease of switching: easy
    Document relative link

          Design veiw in DW: good
          Link check in DW: good
          Browser: good
Ease of switching: hard (how to automate?)

    Thanks!
    Similar discussion on "/"

    Hello again Jon!
    Thanks for jumping on this.
All clear and understood about where publc_html is etc.
No contemplation of nuking the actual public_html directory on the server, just the "/public_html" text string at the start of the DW-generated links.
"/public_html" is automatically added to the front of the link in DW if I create the link with any of the GUI tools, if I have "site root relative" selected. And ""/public_html" ends up in the code, and gets uploaded that way to the server, where it (obviously) doesn't work.
Doesn't sound like it is supposed to work this way. Also, what seems to be the usual root relative format (/images/image.jpg) shows as a broken link in the GUI and an external link in the DW link check. All this togther makes me thinkI have some obscure setting incorrect?
The setting that caught my eye is manage sites/ site setup/ advance settings/ local info/ web url,  which is automatically set to http://www.oasisdesign.net/public_html/
it gives an option to change it but it makes every effort to make this NOT look like something users should mess with:
Having gone through the more careful thought process during this post, I'm ready to do the experiment of changing the remote server web URL (why is it wrong by default?)...think I'll eat dinner first so there's 45 min to avert disaster if anyone knows this to be a bad idea!
    Art
PS--don't  have a local testing server...don't think this will solve the GUI broken link/ link shows as external problems.
Is there an easy, automated way to change links sitewide from document to root relative?
