Is there any way, if one have mac mini without mode, to send faxes via ethernet DSL

The base mini still comes with modem as standard, and the other models can have it added as a BTO option for $39 - which isn't a bad price for those who need a modem, and seems fair to me given the addition of Airport and Bluetooth, plus the 80Gb drive instead of 40 and 1.42 processor instead of 1.25 - all for the extra $100.
I think we all know and accept that there are many people who either choose to remain with dial up services or who have no option but to do so, but Apple have to draw the line somewhere in terms of what to put in these systems without unduly bumping up the price.

Good Day All
I am trying to setup my EA6500 Smart Wifi router to share files across my network and provide internet to stream media to my DVD. I have in the past had it operating to stream to the DVD player via Ethernet cable but when I can do that I have no access to the router setup to configure any of its features. I can't access the USB hard drives or any of the setup functions all I get is a blank log in screen when trying to access it via its IP address. I do not have a DSL modem. My network is set up with a Desktop tethered to a cell phone and then connected to the router to provide the path to the other network components. All the configurations I have seen and all the help forums that I have found only talk about configuring with a DSL modem providing the internet. I am pretty sure the EA6500 will work the way I'm trying to configure it but I just can't get the settings nailed down to make it work as it should.Any one know of what I am doing wrong in configuring my network

Is this how your network is set up?
If yes, there is no Linksys router that will work this way. As far as I know, most of the router if not all needs Internet Connection (DSL, Cable, etc) to work and share internet connectivity to other network devices.

How to fax in mac os x

ive been a user for awhile and the one feature that ive always wanted to use is the fax feature when printing. has anyone got this to work? can anyone walk me thru this? thanks!

In order to send or receive faxes you need a telephone modem such as Apple's USB modem and a connection between the modem and your telephone line. Then select Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu and search on the word 'fax' without quotes. A list of articles will appear in which you will find articles for receiving and sending faxes.

I'm having a very hard time to find out how to instal a 33600bps modem on my OS X 10.7.4. The modem is conected to my MBP through a Prolific USB cable which I already have instaled. My problem is to be able to connect the MBP to this 33600bps modem.

Just to make sure I understand correctly:
This is a modem just for faxing or for an internet connection?
If it is for an internet connection, what company (ISP) are you dealing with???? This would be an extremely slooow dialup connection.
Most ISP's either require you to rent or purchase one of their modems or have an "approved and compatible model" list so you can go out and buy one yourself.

Send and receive a FAX without a phone line

Is it possible to send and receive faxes without a phone line. Instead, can I use bluetooth and cell phone? Or, are there any other options?

Yes/No. There are internet options, companies/programs that like internet phone dialers allow you to send faxes over the internet that end up calling actual phones. Most (if not all) charge a fee for this.
As for bluetooth/cellphone, you're better off sticking with internet options. You could use bluetooth if you had a bluetooth device setup to receive and convert but I'm not sure such advices exist and even if they did I'm not sure the value of them. It would be like sending from your laptop while standing next to a fax machine. Cell phones are possible if your phone allows connection via modem which only a handful do. Given a cellphone with modem support and an apple modem, its possible.

Sending Faxes using internal modem and DSL

I found that I can receive a fax, but I cannot send one. When I try and send one the internal modem tries to connect to the internet using "internet connect". It searches for a number to connect to the internet. Since I am using DSL now I don't have a phone number to dial into the internet. If I put my phone number in it calls me and gets a busy signal.
Can someone tell me how I should be configuring the internal modem?

Sending a fax
You can fax files directly from your computer to any fax machine or computer that is set up to receive faxes. If your computer has a modem that is connected to a phone line, it is automatically configured to send faxes.
Open the document you want to fax.
Choose File > Print.
Choose Fax PDF from the PDF pop-up menu.
Type the fax number of the user you want to receive your fax in the To field.
You can also choose users directly from Address Book by clicking the Address Book button to the right of the To field. Be sure you have a fax number listed for each user you choose in Address Book. For more information about using Address Book, see Address Book Help, available in the Help menu when Address Book is open.
If necessary, type the dialing prefix required for the phone system you're using in the Dialing Prefix field. (For example, if you need to dial a 9 to access an outside line, type 9 in the Dialing Prefix field.)
If you want to send a fax through a modem other than your computer's built-in modem, choose it from the Modem pop-up menu.
If you want to send a cover page with your fax, click the Use Cover Page checkbox and type a message in the Message field.
If you need to change any of the preset faxing options, choose the type of options you want to change from the Fax Cover Page pop-up menu. (To see options for the application you're using, choose the application from the pop-up menu.)
If necessary, select options for the type you chose. (For example, you can select the number of copies you want faxed if you chose Copies & Pages in step 8.)
Tip: If you have a combination of options that you frequently use when faxing a document, you can save it as a "preset." After choosing your options, choose Save As from the Presets pop-up menu and type a name for the set of options. If you want to use this set of options when you fax a document, choose its name from the Presets pop-up menu.
Click Fax.
The fax is sent as soon as your modem is available. (For example, if you're using your modem to connect to the Internet, the fax is sent after you disconnect from your Internet service provider.)
You may want to send your fax at a later time. For example, you may want to send it at night when telephone rates are lower. Just choose Scheduler from the Fax Cover Page pop-up menu, and enter the time. Make sure your computer is on, is not asleep, and is connected to your phone line at that time.

How to restore without losing playlists created manually

I assume I need to restore my iPod because I inadvertently locked the volume limit and can't unlock it. (I clicked on combination, which locked it automatically without giving me a chance to enter a combination).
So, my question is how to restore without losing the playlists as I have them, given that I manually synced each song individually from various iTunes playlists.

You can't restore an iPod without losing all the data stored on it.
It seems from your post that the playlists are still in iTunes, so after the restore you can just transfer them to the iPod once more.
If the playlists are no longer in iTunes (and solely on the iPod), and if you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.

The laptop's too far away from the router to be connected by ethernet. It's all wifi.
No separate server app on the laptop, it's all samba
The files are on a windows laptop and a hard drive hooked up to the windows laptop. The windows share server is pants, so I'd need some sort of third party server running. Maybe you weren't suggesting to use Samba to connect to the windows share though?
I'm glad that you've all understood my ramblings and taken and interest, thanks The way I see it, I can't be the only netbook user these days looking for this kind of convenience, and I certainly won't be once chrome and moblin hit the market.

That is the actual size of your image file. 48 x 38 is very small.
That is not a Bridge or Photoshop problem.
It is a very small image and you cannot enlarge it more than x 1.5.
If you want a large photo you must ask for it from whoever gave it to you, or take a bigger photo if it is yours.

How to reconnect without using the "keep alive" plug-in?

How do we issue a reconnect in SQL Developer? Has anyone figured out how to reconnect without having to disconnect, then connect again?
Since SQL Developer takes SQL*Plus commands, I figured I could use "connect user@instance", but that doesn't work.
Help! Is there a request for enhancement for this one?

In 3.1 EA3, the context menu for a connection now contains a Reconnect option, just below Disconnect. It should become enabled only when a shared connection established for a worksheet / object viewer is broken. It should work for both Oracle and supported non-Oracle connections. Upon reconnect, a dialog will appear warning the connection has been reset.
Some limitations:
1) There is no UI to reconnect a broken connection for an unshared worksheet.
2) Components other than worksheets and object viewer tabs using a shared connection may not function properly after reconnect.
3) An example of (2) is the Schema Browser. It is necessary to close and reopen it after the connection it shares has been reconnected.
Reconnect has been tested on Windows and Linux, on Oracle and MySQL, by shutting down/restarting the database, by saving/restoring the machine state of a VM running the database, by physically disconnecting/reconnecting the machine running the database from the network, and by ALTER SYSTEM KILL SESSION. It has not been tested with any sort of firewall or database session timeout, however.
We hope this minimal implementation will cover the majority of use cases.

Restore to what?
An iCloud backup can be restored without iTunes. This restoration is only done in the new iPad setup procedure. To get into the setup procedure on an iPad you must be able to use Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
If you want to "restore as new" and get fresh iOS software then, as far as I know, this can only be done with iTunes.

If you Restore using last computer you synced to the password will be removed and you can restore the last backup on your computer, which includes your camera roll.
If you enabled Photo Stream in iCloud your photos are in Photo Stream.
If you had installed one of the many apps that can upload photos to a photo sharing site and had used it you will have your photos.
If you have done none of these things you are out of luck. The phone comes with many tools to preserve content, but you have to use them.
