How to fill, join or outline a group of vectors for masking? CS6
I apologize if my lingo isn't correct. I'm not an Illustrator power user.
Using CS6 I have a bitmap I traced, which worked great. Now I want to create a mask simular to this horse head decal. Since the white isn't actually a shape I keep getting the error that I have to join the shapes. But it's a collection of black vectors that make up the image. What would be the best way to create an outline, or a fill that I could use to mask with? In photoshop I remember you paint a mask area.Which would be ideal. Is there a simular way to to this wiht CS6? Hope this make sense.

Thank you. Unfortunately this isn't working for me. It's created a square around the objects, not an outline of the images like I had thought. So I looked via the layer tool again and noticed some were marked as a compound path already, so I ungrouped them, and they all were on the same level. Tried again, and I'm getting the same result. I guess I was expecting to see an outline of a simular shape? Appreciate your help.

How can i set up a distribtuion group on mail for iPhone?
Hello,
I was able to set up a distribution group on my "icloud.com" account. I used my contacts and created a group and then went to my mail and was able to send it to that group.
My next step is to do that on my iPhone 5.
I see the group under the contacts in settings that i have created, however, it is not recognized on my phone as a distribution group.

How to fill an 8x10 page with the same image for making buttons?
How do you make a button template using the grid? How do you import the image onto that, and how do you fill an entire page with the same image ie- 1" circles
I'm trying to do the same thing but I want 1" squares. I just upgraded from Elements 6 and I did this
quite often for pendant necklaces. I used to go and print individual prints, but the previous options are not there. ;(
And the picture package is only showing 20 (2x2) as being the smallest size. I don't see a custom button.
Can anyone tell me how to do this? We're doing these for a fundraiser and I can't even print anymore.

How do I add an outline to a check box in InDesign CS6?
We have a series of existing documents (that were not produced by us) where the check boxes show up as purple boxes in the exported interactive pdfs. Our client wants us to amend the check boxes so that they show up in the pdf as purple boxes with a .25pt black outline, (which would also show up if the pdf was printed).
In the InDesign document the check boxes already have a 1pt black outline (which doesn't show in the pdf). I can change the 1pt outline to ,25pt, but it still doesn't show in the pdf.
We have other documents with check boxes where the outline does show up in the exported pdf, but we can't see any difference at all in the properties of the check boxes, so we can't see why some outlines work and others don't.

Here are the step-by-step instructions.
I assume you already have checkboxes on your ID document. If you don't, skip to the end of this post.
Select one and then switch to the Direct Selection (white arrow) tool.
Double click the edge of the check. You will see a blue frame around the check.
Select that blue frame with the Direct Selection tool. You have just selected the frame.
Go to the Stroke controls and make it Black.
You now have an outline around the check. This is what it will look like when it is chosen.
But your boss probably wants the outline also to be around the area of the check when it is not chosen.
Keep the form selected and switch to the Normal (off) state.
Use the Selection tool to select the frame edge again and apply the stroke.
You now have outlines around each check and in the empty spaces.
BTW the purple is deceptive and depends on Acrobat's settings.

Are you just saying they have to exist in the RPD group membership to start, and then they can add themselves to the Presentation Catalog?
The documentation suggests knowing the group password allows you to join the catalog group. Otherwise, what's the point of the feature?
The documentation certainly suggests any user who knows a Catalog Group password can join it. Is this an error in the documentation then?

How do I create an outline of entire design with a single vector (for banner cutting printers)
I have a design that we want to have printed in a large banner format. We have access to one that also has a tool that will cut it out also. I was told to do this, I need to create a separate swatch color that has a special name to it. Ok, no problem.... The problem is the design I made is very detailed around the edges, not just a simple square or circle. I know I would somehow use the options in the pathfinder tool to merge everything into one single object with just a single vector going around everything (also vectors for cutting out the insides of characters such as O's, R's, etc...). Everything I try seems to merge only some of the objects or I just get errors, or just does something completely unexpected. What is really the correct way of doing this?
Try this:
1 select all the art
2. Group the art (if not already Grouped)
3. Copy (Command C or Control C)
4. Paste in Front (Command F or Control F) or Paste in Back (Command B or Control B)
5. While to pasted group is still selected Use the Pathfinder tool to Unite (first icon on the upper left of the Pathfinder Panel.
6. Make sure it has a fill of None and a stroke of your cutline swatch, I think it has to be a stroke weight .125 pts.
Optional
7. If the art is not going to bleed off the cut then select then target the compound path, you just made with the Pathfinder, in the layers panel
8. o the Effects>Path>Offset path and give it an offset amount.

Here it is with the compound path selected with the offset path, without the offset the cutline would be like the selection
path in the screenshot but would have no fill and only the cut line. You would still need to give it an offset to get the cutline to the edge of the art as the path is aligned to the center of the strokes, that is if it bleeds and you would have to bleed the art where it overlaps the cut line. That's another story.
You can use the stroke panel to align the path to the outside of the if you do not want to use the Offset Effect and you can also use the Object>Path>Offset Path instead of the effect.
I do not think you should be joining paths if the art is not created that way unless you consult the creator.
Batch input - FB05 - How to fill LIFNR if I post on GL account.
Hi, our company normaly use IDOCs (FIDCCP02) for posting FI documents (accrual intercompany FI documents) and there we can fill LIFNR and it is saved in BSEG-LIFNR. But now I created batch input for transactin FB05 and I cannot fill LIFNR anywhere on screen by FI document posting on GL account. Is there any option how to fill LIFNR in batch input when i post on GL account?

I would check field status group assigned to your account and check which fields are enabled in this group (in SPRO under Financial Accounting -> Financial Accounting Global Settings -> Document -> Line Item -> Controls -> Maintain Field Status Variants)
How to Subscribe to Outlook Calendar in Group WIKI Calendar
Ok, here's what I've been trying to figure out how to do for about a year. Our small office uses PC's with Outlook as our Calendar. We are not on Exchange Server. We are using Mac Mini Snow Leopard Server ver. 10.6.8. I'm trying to figure out a way so that our office can look at one central calendar and see individual calendars for each of the users. I don't want all the users to have their events/appointments on 1 calendar because then you can't tell whose event/appointment it is. I've setup a Group WIKI and have activated the Calendar and have a group consisting of the attorneys assigned to the Group. Outlook 10 can publish its calendar as to a webdav server. In fact I'm able to subscribe to my Outlook Calendar once its been published in the iCal client on the Snow Leopard server. It updates in both directions when changes are made. The problem is that when I go into the Group WIKI Calendar, although I can create calendars there and then PUBLISH them so they can be Subscribed to in either iCal or in Outlook 2010, I can't figure out how to SUBSCRIBE to a webdav/caldav calendar, ie. the Outlook 2010 that's been published, in the WIKI Calendar. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the specific intricacy of your situation (a hosted domain at Outlook.com), and so do not know if indeed that is causal to your issues. But perhaps a workaround will be useful? For example, if you indeed use your hosted domain for your email, but create a true Outlook.com account for the use of only Calendar and Contact synchronization, then that might work?

For your email account, you simply use the domain they are hosting, and for Contacts/Calendar, the true Outlook.com account that you create for that purpose.

How to use joiner transformation for 3 sources?
Hi,
I want to use joiner transformation to join my 3 source tables (t1, t2, t3).
When I look at the joiner transformation it only has INGRP1 and INGRP2 for two sources. How do I use it for third source for joining? I dont see INGRP3 so that I could drag my third source in to the joiner.

Can also break the join down into a number of joins which has advantage sometime if part of the join can be reused or you want to (in 11gR2) use different data movement technology for that set of operators. There are 2 illustrations here one with 2 joiners for 3 tables the other with one joiner which has 3 groups;
