How to filtering particular frequency of a sound wave

Hi im a electronics and instrumentation engineering student i only know about labview basics... I need to know about how to filter particular range of frequency or spectrum of sound from an audio signal.... Please tell me

Hi Sentamil,
you should use a suitable filter function. LabVIEW comes with a lot of them!
how to filter particular range of frequency
Thats sounds like you need a bandpass filter…

  • How to lip sync and see the sound wave better?

Alright, so first of all I will thank you for clicking this post!
There's 2 questions/problems, so if you got the solution on both/one of them, PLEASE post!
So I'm working on an animation where some guys sings and in order to make that look good, i need some good lip syncing.
Since this is not short clips, but a whole song on 2-3 minutes, it's very hard for me to make the lip sync perfect because I have to replay from the beginning in order to hear the music.
So question one is: Are there a way that I can play the movie in the middle and still hear the music?
And so the second question is that I can barely see the sound waves in the Music layer, even though there's lots of music.
Here's a picture of how big the sound waves are:
And that's in the middle of the song!
The problem is not that the music is too low, because it's quite high.
So question number two is: Are there a way that I can make the soundwaves bigger in the music layer without affecting the music itself?
Feel free to post even if you don't have the answer, so it will stay at the top till someone knows how to fix this!
    Thanks from Mistah NovaNova

There are several ways to make the sound file, or any layer, more prominent in the timeline. In the upper right corner of the timeline window is a contextual menu. In that menu select Large. This will make all of the layers use a larger area in the timeline window. Set the frame rate to higher rate, say 100 or 150 fps. This will stretch the audio, and all of the other content over a larger space in the timeline.
Both of the above will make the audio track easier to see. Add a layer to the timeline and place key frames at points where you need. These will aid you in managing the audio.
I usually cut up the audio file into smaller chunks and place these end to end in the timeline, usually in different layers. The net effect on playback is that the sound plays as expected. On the timeline, I get a short chunk of content to work with. You cannot expect to maintain sync over any extended period of time in Flash, or any application like it. Keep the extent of any given synched section short and run them end to end. The audio and the visual portions of Flash are compiled separately and will be played back separately.

  • How come I can't see the sound wave in the tracks?

I just got an iMac, and am brand new to this, but I'm stuck here. The tracks are rectangular blocks of sound and I can't get them so they will be sound waves. I feel like I've clicked on every possible option. Any help?

MIDI loops (green) are not sounds, so there is no waveform, they are merely instructions for a synth. audio loops (blue) will show the waveform.
and I can't get them so they will be sound waves.
if you option drag a MIDI loop from the browser into the timeline, it's pre-rendered audio sample will be used instead and you will see a sound wave.

If you have labview 8.x or 9.x you can do this. Go to help in the toolbar. Select "Find Examples" and then search for sound. Locate the "Sound File to Sound Output.vi" This example will help in your task. Remember that Labview is shipped with a lot of useful examples. That can help you in your learning process
    Good luck
Ps you can also read wav files, and find examples  in Labview 7.x. But I do not know the name of the similar examples in 7.x
Edit: Please use zip files then you are not able to attach files. Do not link to sites outside. The site you linked to was very annoying. Could not download

  • Detecting frequency of the sound by phone`s microphone

    Hello
Please tell me how to detect the frequency od voice/music using phone`s microphone. Is it possible to do it using MMAPI? I want to create universal solution, not just app for specified phone.

it's not necessary to use an FFT. and sometimes is not sufficient:
(there's a whole literature on finding the fundamental frequency of a signal).
    a simpler technique:
filter out (using a fast IIR filter) the frequencies located over the band you are
interested, then use a zero-crossing method.
if the sound you're analyzing is not too harmonic rich, the algorithm works
rather well, and it's very fast.

  • How to get RPM, frequency and amplitude in colormap

    Hi!
I'm doing a program which measures sound and engine speed and then displays it in a colormap.
Im having problems becose i want to display the data like so: x-axis RPM, y-axis Frequency, z-axis (color) [dB].
But it seems imposible to display all three data togheter, always there is one dimension time. Can i change this somehow, is there some way to do this?
Point is, i would like to see at which RPM, the sound is loudest, and at which frequency its loudest. So i cant miss any of those three.
The other problem im facing is, that the color map displays onli 0,1s of data, and i have no option to see into history to see the whole data (if you are in-car doing analysis, the real-time 0,1s data is usless).
    I would appreshiate your help.
My vi is in the attachment.

Thanks Ben, but I found a different way. Yours is very good example, but its quite difficult to read the values from it, for my prupose of the program.
I did some deeper research on the internet and did it with help of SVT STFT vs RPM.vi which does some transformations of two waveforms (in my case RPM analog wave, and sound wave), and then indicates a nice colormap with RPM on x-axis, Frequency on y-axis, and color of amplitude on z-axis, just how i wanted. This way it is way easier to read the data from the graph.
There is a picture in the attachment of colormap and the code.
Thanks for the response, and a nice day!

  • How many users and how often a particular discoverer report is being run?

    Hi there,
We run discoverer(4i) reports from portal. The question is:
How to find out the number of users and how often a particular discoverer report is being run?
    Many Thanks in advance.
    Naren

I know in the 9 versions of discoverer is there is a Discoverer v5 Business Area that is included out of the box. You have to have the stats turned on inside of the pref.txt. But that BA has all of the information to create queries about who, what, parameters, etc. You'll have to check and see if its part of 4i.

How can I get Data from the Sound cart in Labview? Does a VI exist?

Yes, there are VIs for acquiring data from Sound cards. And examples too. If you don't have LabVIEW yet, do a search on NI's site for example VIs.

  • How to change the frequency of pulse train on the fly using an array of values?

    Hi all!
First I want to thank U for the great job you are doing for this forum.
Iam still busy trying to control a stepper motor, by sending pulses from my E-series 6024 to a compumotor s6- stepper Driver. I've managed to get it working. I desperately need to control the motor using the values from an array. I believe we can use two approaches for that:
1st - I can get an array of the "numbers of pulses". Each element must run for 10 milliseconds. Using that we can calculate the array of frequencies to send the number of pulses within 10 milliseconds for each specific element. Could we use the arrays of "number of pulses" and frequencies in a "finite pulse train " and up
date with each element every 10 millisecond?
2nd - Or Could we use of the frequency array in a "continuous pulse train vi" and update it every 10 milliseconds?
Please note that I must use the values as they are.
Can someone please built a good example for me? Your help will be appreciated.
    Regards
    Chris

    Tiano,
I will try to better explain the paragraph on LabVIEW. The original paragraph reads ...
"While in a loop for continuous pulse train generation, make two calls to Counter Set Attribute.vi to set the values for "pulse spec 1" (constant 14) and "pulse spec 2" (constant 15). Following these calls you would make a call to Counter Control.vi with the control code set to "switch cycle" (constant 7). The attached LabVIEW programs demonstrate this flow."
You can make two calls to Counter Set Attribute or you can make a call to Set Pulse Specs which, if you open this VI, you will see that it is just making two calls to Counter Set Attribute. What you are doing with the Counter Set Attribute VIs is setting two registers called "pulse s
pec 1" and "pulse spec 2". These two registers are used to configure the frequency and duty cycle of your output frequency.
The example program which is attached to this Knowledge Base demonstrates how to change the frequency of a continuous generation on the fly. Why continuous? Because changing the frequency of a finite train would be easy. When the train completes it's finite generation you would just change the frequency and run a finite train again. You would not care about the time delay due to reconfiguration of the counter.
If you would like to change the frequency of the pulse train using a knob, this functionality will have to be added in the while loop. The while loop will be continuously checking for the new value of the knob and using the knob value to set the pulse specs.

    hi
execute rstxdbug to activate script debugger...once the driver program reaches open_form, a popup box will come where u can mention the name of a command, call functinon, text element, etc to place a break point...once it gets into the debugging mode, double click on any line to set a break point, after that pressing f8 will get you to that line

  • How do i turn off the startup sound on macbook pro?

how do i turn off the startup sound on macbook pro?

You don't. You may find some third-party software that will, however. Try Auto Mute.
    Alternatively, you can try this:
I think this is the best and simplest solution. Open a Terminal window and type (or copy/paste) the following to turn down the startup noise:
         sudo nvram SystemAudioVolume="%00"
    Press RETURN.
And to restore it to the original value type:
         sudo nvram -d SystemAudioVolume
    Press RETURN.
    That's all folks.

    Hi Friends..
Do you know how to read particular Sector and Block in Mifare 1K through Java?..
I've created the simple application that read data from Mifare 1K, but i've problem when i want to read the other sectors and blocks..
i tried to read the blocks by using this APDU command :
    FF B0 00 00 10  //read data in Sector 0 and Block 0
    FF B0 00 01 10  //read data in Sector 0 and Block 1

  • How to change the frequency of a finite pulse train?

Hi all? I Know I’ve asked once a similar question, but I need a better answer. I would like some ideas or examples on how to modify the example in LV; "Finite Pulse Train Generation - Intermediate for AM9513-Based Devices",so that the frequency can be changed while the VI is executing.
Will i have any problem with I use this VI in a DAQ-STC-Based Devices(E-series)?
