How to find ARU Patch 7993184

I am trying to install the Oracle Metadata Repository 10.1.2.0.3 into a 10gR2 RAC database. Note 260554.1 gives some information on this. It also says:
3.1.18 Patch Required Prior to Running the Metadata Repository Creation Assistant on a 10.2 Real Application Cluster Database
You must install ARU patch 7993184 before running the Metadata Repository Creation Assistant on a 10.2 Real Application Cluster Database. If you do not apply the patch, you will receive an error message during Oracle Ultra Search configuration.
I cannot find this patch ANYWHERE. Can someone help? Thanks.

Did you ever get an answer to where to find ARU Patch 7993184?
I am also trying to install the Metadata Repository into a Standard Edition RAC database.
Or did you find a way to make it work without the patch?
Thanks!

Query the concurrent executable in Sysadmin.
    Note the file name.
If it is a package, open the package in TOAD and note down the file name.
If it is a report/form, open it in form developer and note down the file name.
Go to patch find screen in metalink. In the advanced search screen, enter the file name and you will see patches that contain it.

  • How to find the patch & version of directory server

How to find version & patch of Sun JES Directory Server.
    What does 2005Q4 mean to?

Just look at your errors log file after you start up the directory server. If you are running Directory Server 6.0 you will find a line that looks like this:
    Sun-Java(tm)-System-Directory/6.0 B2007.030.1546 (32-bit) starting up
Depending on the version you have it will show something slightly differently.

    Hi,
The following methods will help to know what are the patches installed at your ORACLE HOME
    1) opatch lsinv -bugs_fixed
This option will give description of installed patches as below, but the opatch version should be higher than
    10.2.0.4.5 for version 10.2 ORACLE_HOMEs
    $ opatch lsinv -bugs_fixed
    8576156 8833280 Tue Feb 09 16:54:18 MST 2010 DATABASE PSU 10.2.0.4.3 (INCLUDES CPUJUL2009)
    8833280 8833280 Tue Feb 09 16:54:18 MST 2010 DATABASE PSU 10.2.0.4.4 (INCLUDES CPUOCT2009)
    2) select substr(action_time,1,30) action_time,
    substr(id,1,10) id,
    substr(action,1,10) action,
    substr(version,1,8) version,
    substr(BUNDLE_SERIES,1,6) bundle,
    substr(comments,1,20) comments
    from registry$history;
This option will work when post installation has been performed for that patch
    thanks,

  • Hi, I don't know how to find a specific security patch to apply to my Oracle database version to fix a vulnerability

Hi, I don't know how to find a specific security patch to apply to my Oracle database version 11.2.0.2.0 (on windows server 2003 32 bits) to fix the following vulnerability:
    Risk: High
    Application: oracle_tnslsnr
    Port: 1521
    Protocol: tcp
    Synopsis:
It is possible to register with a remote Oracle TNS listener.
    Description:
The remote Oracle TNS listener allows service registration from a remote host. An attacker can exploit this issue to divert data from a
legitimate database server or client to an attacker-specified system.
Successful exploits will allow the attacker to manipulate database instances, potentially facilitating man-in-the-middle, sessionhijacking,
or denial of service attacks on a legitimate database server.
    Solution:
Apply the work-around in Oracle's advisory.
    Thank you for your help

that sounds like the "tns poison" vulnerability.  CVE 2012-1675 - Oracle Security Alert CVE-2012-1675

  • HOW to find out the tablespace space utilized by a patch after applying the

someone has already applied the patch in test env before recording the tablespace size , so I cannot find out the figure in test env.
So is there any general practice or general guidelines on it?
hOW to find out the tablespace space utilized by a patch after applying the patch?
    Thanks & Regards,

I think there is no direct way to determine what tablespace is utilized by a patch from the README file. You could check the content of the patch file and see what modules are affected (assuming there are changes and the database level), then query DBA_USERS (DEFAULT_TABLESPACE column) for those schemas which are updated by a patch. Or, you could check the size of the tablespaces before and after applying the patch and you will determine what tablespaces have been utilized (provided that the application services are down, and none of the application users is connected to the application).

  • How to find patch timing details in oracle 11i applicaitons

    Hai -
Today i applied 30 patches on our oracle 11.5.10.2 application.
I would like to see how much time it took for installing these patches. Could any one provide SQL Script to list out like patch name, patch start time and patch end time and host name.
    Apppreciate your support on this.

    Hi,
You can determine this from OAM or from adpatch "Job Timing Report".

  • How to find versions of application server components to apply patches

    Hi,
I have Oracle Application server 10.1.2.0.2 installed in my linux box.
    under metalink.oracle.com
    1. i read documentation Doc ID: 420061.1 in metalink about patches and i did find one patch# 5922120 for my application middletier.
but when i did a metalink search i did see some patches for my database version which were not critical
so if they are not critical and if my application server is working fine then do i need to apply these patches.
My application server version is 10.1.2.0.2
and my apalication server infrastructure version is 10.1.0.4.2
during my metalink searches i found the following patches which were uner normal priority. they are:
    patch numbers: 5127390, 5094712, 5605377
    Can someone guide me.
Bottom line is: do i need to apply these patches unless they are critical and they are requred for my applications.
Also i have one more basic question is
How do i find out individual component versions in my application server like Portal, discoverer, EM, EM agent, etc?
    Thanks in advance,
    Philip.

    Philip,
    You have a similar environment to ours. We actually have two Oracle environments: 91) 10gDB 10.1.0.5 / 10gAS 9.0.4.3, and (2) 10gDB 10.2.0.3 / 10gAS 10.1.2.0.3.
In regards to what patches, I look at two items: the latest patchset for DB and AS, and the Critical Patch Updates(CPU). Often, the CPU will drive what patchset you will need to be at. For example, with the CPU April 2007, we had to move to patchset 3 for our AS (9.0.4.3) since that is the only 10gAS R1 that Oracle provided CPU patches.
As far as version ID, I have not found one single area to acquire this. For Portal, you can invoke Portal, http://host/pls/portal, logon as 'portal', then Administer, Global Settings, and at the bottom of the page is the version.
For other products like Forms and Discover, you can find the version when the tool is invoked.
Not quite as nice as the DB side where dba_registry will give you all the goodies.
    Regards,
    John
