How to find bit version of firefox? Whether it is 32 bit or 64 bit.

If I install firefox x.y.z version on Windows7 Enterprise SP1 64 bit OS, How can I find, Whether installed version of firefox is 32 bit or 64 bit?
I know, To the best of my knowledge, Firefox supports only 32 bit edition/version, But how to find out? Where is the path for finding it out?
Thanks,
Govardhan.

Dear Firemike,
Hatsoff to you.
Before posting a question, I cross checked "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)".
"Mozilla Firefox" folder is present in "Program Files (x86)".
But I'm unable to make out (draw conclusion) that it is for sure 32-bit edition/version.
My appreciations and great thanks to you for immediate and prompt resolution.
Happy Diwali! :-)

  • I removed the 64 bit version of Firefox and now my bookmarks for the 32 bit version are gone. How do I get them restored?

Are previous bookmarks for the default stored somewhere on my hard drive?

See [[Uninstall Firefox from your computer]]. It's not specifically mentioned in the article since most people don't have multiple versions of Firefox installed (such as a released version and a [http://nightly.mozilla.org Nightly version]) but using the uninstall option '''Remove my Firefox personal data and customizations''' removes ALL of your Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] data and settings (bookmarks, passwords, cookies, etc.) . If you did choose that option when you uninstalled your 64-bit version of Firefox, then I'm afraid the profile data is gone.

  • I require a 32 bit version of Firefox to process a single instruction in Share Point. Where can I get the 32 bit version of Firefox at any level?

I am trying to utilize a function in SharePoint to permit me to open a library in Explorer mode. The function is available on the Share Point page and when I select the function my IE browser stops working. Unfortunately IE at it's current setup on my system is required for most internal applications. Chrome will not enable most of the functions in the Share Point site so that browser is unusable for my purposes. Upon research the current potential resolution to my problem is to run a 32 bit browser to enable my function. Due to the above mentioned limitations I require a 32 bit version of Firefox but the download only provides a 64 bit version because my system is 64 bit. How can I get a 32 bit version of Firefox?

For what OS as Firefox for Windows from [https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ www.mozilla.org] is only Win32 and will work on 32-bit and 64-bit Windows. Firefox for Mac OSX is a combined 32/64 and There are separate 32-bit and 64-bit versions for Linux.
Where are you downloading Firefox to think it is a 64-bit version?
The WOW64 in a browser useragent on Windows means it is a 32-bit application running of 64-bit Windows.

    # Start the Finder and open the Applications folder
    # Right click or control-click the Firefox.app icon
    # Select "Get Info"

    hi,
i wonder is there 64 bit version of firefox exist? or not?. I google that and i get Minefield. But i like more Firefox icon. If there is 64 bit version of Firefox exist, would u write me download address?

    Thank you.

There is no released 64 bit version of Firefox. What you obtained is mainly for people testing plug-ins and to be sure that things work when it is available. You would not be able to do much without your plug-ins and they all have to be rewritten. Though Flash is now distributed with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions to Firefox users with 64-bit, so that is one major hurdle.

  • Looking for 64 bit version of firefox, pre-release or Beta ok

I have Win7 Pro 64bit. Was having issues with continuous crashing of flash. I installed Adobe Flash Square version10 64bit with Firefox version4, reduced # of flash crashes.
When firefox pushed out version 5, I installed it & the browser kept dragging/crashing all over again. looked up Adobe Flash Square to see if any info avail, Adobe had Adobe Flash Square version11 64bit, so I uninstalled version 10 prior to installing version11 per Adobe instructions. Although it has helped, it is not where it was prior to installing Firefox 5.
I have tested Firefox 5 with the current Adobe Flash 32bit release as well, and what can I say, it's not work the effort on my 64bit system. for some reason this combo maxes out my cpu (2.8 dual core) & memory (4 gb + virtual), causing me to hard boot my system.
I understand Firefox devs are working on a 64bit version for Windows. I would like to volunteer to test it. I have many years of SW design & QA experience so any bugs I find I will fully document.
The 64bit version of IE works well with the 64bit Flash, lots better than 32bit version, but I prefer to use Firefox or Chrome (I often utilize both simultaneously, each on own screen).
Please let me know if a 64bit version of Firefox is available (pre-release/beta ok) & if it is not is there an expected availability date?
    Thank you in advance,
    Verta Tannehill

Nightly is a pre-release testing version of Firefox: bleeding edge and not necessarily stable. It is Firefox -- a rose by any other name, and all -- but it is buggy, as all testing software is (I'm using it right now). New Firefox versions are born from Nightly, so when a 64-bit version of Firefox is released, it will have come from Nightly development. Use it for general browsing and send feedback (Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General) and you will be helping to beta test a new baby Firefox.

  • I am running windows7 64 need the 32 bit version of firefox to run Adobe?

Tried downloading latest Adobe flash, won't work, recommends downloading your 32 bit version of Firefox? I am running Windows7 professional 64bit, yahoo mail and i think Facebook have drama's with the 64bit version?can you steer me in right direction on how to sort out?

There are two different versions of Flash, the '''''ActiveX''''' version for IE and the '''Plugin''' version used by most other browsers.
1.Download the Flash Plugin version setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
    4. Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
    * On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />

  • Where do I get a 64-bit version of Firefox 5?

A better question might be - is my version of FF5 64-bit? How do I tell? There was a reference is one post that there was a 64 bit version of Ff4?
If there currently is no 64-bit version, when will it be available?

Note that you are not addressing Adobe in these user forums.
You are requesting help from volunteers users just like you who give their time free of charge. No one has any obligation to answer your questions.
Volunteers need to know at a glance whether they have an answer for you or not.  Very few of us around here are familiar with Elements.

  • Can I please get an email, when you guys finally release a 64-bit version of Firefox?

Here's what I posted on the Firefox Developer site, after spending enough time there to get a sense of what they're doing, and why they have totally failed to issue a 64-bit version of Firefox.
So, my question is: where can I register an email address, to make sure I get notified when Firefox issues a 64-bit version?
I think I'm starting to see why the "developer community" for Firefox has failed to grasp the NEED to issue a 64-bit version. It clearly has become a very cozy and comfortable group of insiders, who can all feel comfortable with the tech-nerd level of the group, and don't want to be bothered by us outsiders who don't belong to developer groups.
Meanwhile, the fact that Java compatibility, across different 32-versus-64 bit browsers, is causing us outsiders lots of problems, is driving outsiders like me to say, "To hell with those nerds. If they can't find some way to issue a modern version of Firefox, I'm deleting it, and going to Chrome, instead, as my main alternative to IE".
You guys provided a real nice bridge, over the past few years, which really did help force Microsoft make IE a whole lot better.
But, you got just too incestuous, and inbred, and you failed to see what was going on outside your little club.
Please send me an email, if you ever issue a 64-bit Firefox. I like Firefox a lot, and would love to use it again, some day.

Let me also copy and repeat -- since the developers' club apparently has chosen to not give it any weight or credibility -- a comment by a completely different user, in a different thread:
"I am using the 64-bit nightly, and it is FAR faster than any release in 32-bit, and I have 2GB of ram. Usually the addon compatibility thing takes minutes, when with the nightly 64-bit, I was done in a matter of seconds. also, I notice that it is faster, pages load faster, there is less lag, and it all around seems better than 32-bit in every aspect, even though it is just automatically compiled and not tweaked."
So, the developer's club position remains, "there really isn't much need for a 64-bit version", despite comments like that. Hmmm . . .
Are you SURE you want to stand directly behind that answer, while people shoot at it?

  • How to find out version of Jakarta-ORO in Weblogic.jar

Our environment is Weblogic 6.1 SP3 on Win2k professional with JDK 1.3.1_03 (build
1.3.1_03-b03). We use Protomatter Syslog in our application and it uses Jakarta
ORO classes for regexp parsing. Since Weblogic jar already has the classes we
do not have a separate jar for ORO in our classpath.
We have seen ArrayIndexOutOfBounds exceptions in ORO code and the bug is listed
as solved in version 2.0.7 & later versions. http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=17707
I appreciate someone letting me know how to find the version of ORO in Weblogic
6.1 SP3. I could try placing the Jakarta jar before Weblogic jar on my classpath,
but I would like to figure out the problem instead of trial and error.
    Thanks,
    Nitin
    [ArrayIndexOutOfBounds.txt]

I don't find it with a quick scan of the src610 code line, you might have to
open a support case, unless you can give me a class name for some more
    hints.

  • Is there a 64-bit version of Firefox for Windows 7 64-bit?

I'm just a bit confused. I have Version 8.x of Firefox, which seems to be a 32-bit version. The help site seemed to say that there is a 64-bit version of Firefox, but when I went to download it, I got something called Nightly, which has now replaced my Firefox. Is nightly a fully-functioning version of Firefox? Is there any advantage to using it as my browser? Is there any reason I shouldn't use it? I would call myself an advanced intermediate user in terms of computer literacy.
Another related question: When I search something on the help site, I often see references to Version 3.x or Version 4.x. Is my 8.x on the same numbering system as these versions? Is it the most up-to-date version?
    Thanks for your help.

Nightly is a pre-release testing version of Firefox: bleeding edge and not necessarily stable. It is Firefox -- a rose by any other name, and all -- but it is buggy, as all testing software is (I'm using it right now). • Can a 32-bit version of Firefox work with a 64-bit plugin and the other way around?

I'm using a notebook with Windows 7 x64 and Firefox 4.0.1 x86 and I used to have JDK 1.6.0.24 x64 installed, and also it's corresponding public JRE (also x64). Yesterday, I noticed that Java applets didn't work in Firefox. It asked me to install the required plugin. I did, and JRE 6u22 x86 was installed alongside. Now Java applets did work, hurray.
Because I didn't want multiple (old) JRE's, I uninstalled all of them and installed JDK 1.6.0.25 with it's public JRE instead. Again, 64-bit. Now Firefox refuses to notice Java again. The plugin menu doesn't show any Java-related plugins. (Not even Java Deployment Toolkit, which used to be there before.) I have tried setting the current Java distribution as default for all browsers with the Java Control Panel, but that didn't work.
Is this just because Firefox x86 can't deal with x64 plugins? Should I download a x64 build of Firefox instead? Or will that make the rest of my addons stop working?
EDIT: currently I removed the 64-bit JRE and installed its 32-bit variant. Everything works again, also in Firefox. I would still prefer to have everything 64-bit though.

Mozilla hasn't yet released a 64-bit version of Firefox for Windows, they're all 32-bit.
Namoroka is a pre-release version used for testing new features and security fixes, and was available in 32-bit and 64-bit variants for all OS's. Currently only the Nightly version is available in a 64-bit versions for Windows - currently Nightly 10.a1.
You can get the latest release version here. For Windows it is a 32-bit application. <br />
