How to find IDOC Segment Exit

I am new to IDOCs. Can someone tell me how to find exit for a segment in IDOC.

Hi,
There is no segment exit. If you want populate data and for that there is no corresponding fields in the standard segment, then create the new ZSEGMENT in WE31 with your fields and data element.
Now if u want to send data in those fields through idoc then
1) Go to we30 - Select the radio button extension and then add segments which you created to populate the values.
2) Link the idoc type with message type and add extension ( that u created in WE30)
3) In we20 add the message type used in outbound
4) Identify the suitable user exit and write the code in outbound system (sending system) to populate data in idoc
5) identify the suitable user exit and write code in inbound system to post data from idoc to the database table.
Now replicate data and check whether your are able to insert data in custom fields.

One way to ahive this is by, be ready with IDOC postiong,
then go to ST05 transaction and activate the trace after checking Table Buffer Trace.
Now post the IDOC then deactivate the trace.
Now come back to ST05 and display trace and search for calls starts with EXIT_.

u can follow the steps:
Transaction: SMOD
Click F4 help for Enhancement
Path: F4help -> SAP Applications -> Logistics general -> Logistics Basic Data ->
Business partners -> Vendor Master.
Find the enhancement as VSV00002, which is an approximate user exit.
Now search for different extensions like VSV00001. Then see for its components.
Identify the appropriate user exit to be u2018EXIT_SAPLVV01_001u2019 (Create Export of
Additional Customer Master Segments). This user exit can be used in outbound ALE
process, meant for filling the data into custom segments.
You have to identify here another user exit as u2018EXIT_SAPLVV02_001u2019, which is
helpful for inbound ALE process. This user exit can be used to read the segments
and post it to Application repository.
Step9: Develop a project to encapsulate enhancements and components.
Transaction: CMOD.
Enhancement: custex and click Create to provide attributes.
Click Enhancement Assignments.
Provide VSV00001, short text and save.
From the initial screen of the transaction, select components and click change.
Find 4 components to be added.
Activate them.
Select user exit EXIT_SAPLVV01_001 for outbound process and double click it. It leads to function builder.
Double click on provided include program ZXVSVU01 and press enter.
Now, write supporting code for IDoc extension, i.e., populating custom segments in IDoc.
Check the code and activate.

You could try searching the main program for "userexit_"
This would give you a list of all the available user exits within the application.
For Customer exits, you could search SMOD with a short description ex: order in the F4 help. Another way is to search for CUSTOMER-FUNCTION in the main program. You can then navigate to the enhancement in the customer function and use the Z Program in the enhancement.

Hi Varisetty,
Finding user exits and BAdis from SPRO can be cumbsersome. In most instances you know the standard SAP program and want to check (find) an exit called in the flow of the transaction. You can do this as follows:
For User Exit:
Put "/h" in the command box (to start debugging)
Execute your transaction
When you enter debugging - put a breakpoint at statement
CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION
the control will stop at all calls to User Exits
For BAdi (it's simpler)
Go to class CL_EXITHANDLER in SE24
Enter method GET_INSTANCE
Put a breakpoint in this method
Run your standard transaction - control will stop at all BAdis called within the flow since this method is used to check BAdi implementations before invoking them
Also, if you want to find enhancements by package - go to SE80, enter the package and check function groups starting with X - those contain function exits (conventional user exits). For BAdis in a package, there is normally a separate tree node (under the package) for Enhancements hence clearly identifiable.

ther is a convenient way to find all BADIS called. You may know that BADIS are the newer version of EXITs.
I would suggest you to go for BADI.
Follow the below steps to find out what all BADI's are called when you press any button in any transaction.
1) Goto se24 (Display class cl_exithandler)
2) Double click on the method GET_INSTANCE.
3) Put a break point at Line no.25 (CASE sy-subrc).
Now
4) Execute SAP standard transaction
5) Press the required button for which you need to write an exit logic, the execution will stop at the break point.
6) Check the values of variable 'exit_name', it will give you the BADI name called at that time.
7) This way you will find all the BADIs called on click of any button in any transaction.

You are absolutely correct. But what i need to know is sometime , even in the sales order there will be no output type (basically inbound) which can be found as suggested by Sunil - I think that is the most relevant way to find the IDOC no. Hope you will agree with me. Again how to activate by IAN is also guides the idea. Only thing we need to know the exact parameter to be maintained in own data.

Well if you want to search user exits associated with the t-code LI20...
then go to se93, enter the t-code LI20->click on display-> go the program-> go to find next in the top menu (under Edit) and write "user_exit" and select "In the main program" and and click on continue... in case if there is any user exit; it will show you.

I want to find the user exit for order cancellation. And also to ensure that no one amends the order once the canellation has taken place. The cancellation shall be deemed to be affected only if the vendor has confirmed the acknowledgement of the order cancellation.
I have got a Zreport where this order should not come as open order item.
Please tell me the method of finding the users exit for order cancellation and stop the order from getting modified. And also how to find the tables in which the data has to be updated that the order has to be cancelled.
In the PO header i want an additional tab <cancellation> by which the user by the help of userid and password should be able to cancel the order. An order once cancelled cannot be undone. A new order has to be placed. The new order can be placed refencing the cancelled purchased order.
My client has got a very stringent requirement. In the past cancelled order has been undone and caused lot of problems.
