With the serial number, can one find if a Thinkpad was stolen?
Looking to buy one on ebay and prefer to check if it was stolen.
Tried with Lenovo and they claim that they do not have any info.

Lenovo does cooperate with law enforcement, etc if systems are reported stolen.
Generally though, we don't provide a lookup service for perspective buyers on a secondhand market.
As a practice, I would recommend you check the type and serial number against our warranty lookup to ensure the warranty is still valid, and also research the past sales of the seller and make your most informed decsion.

How to find SQL server backup was taken under compression mode ? I have disabled the Compress Mode backup setting but I want to make sure the backup is taken without compression.
Is there a script for that?

I have disabled the Compress Mode backup
That is only a default setting, in backup command you can always overwrite it to a different value.

How to find the WebUrl alert was raised for external network

I have two weburl's requestes to monitor under SCOM2007 R2
url one: https://www.asdftest.com
url two: https://www.lkjhtest.com
"url one" is configured to access the weburl from internal network and external network(internet) as well.
"url two" is not configured to access from external network(internet). only configured for for internal network.
I have configured for scom monitoring for the above two urls using the SCOM 2007 R2 web application template. After configuration i have not received any alert from the "Url Two"
Q1). I am expecting an alert for "Url two" because it is not configured for external network access.
why i was not received any alert for that.
Q2). How to find an web Url alert is raised for internal network or external network. SCOM Tool is not asked me to specify that the weburl is is from internal/external network access.
Q3). Particularly how to find the Url alert was raised for external network
please suggest me and correct me if i am wrong.

If the phone is off there is nothing you can do to locate it.
The free "Find my iPhone" service Apple provides can only work if it is setup in advance, turned on, and the phone has power and an Internet connection.

I was sent a file to work with and it was supposedly made using a Mac computer, but I can't open it. How can I find out what program was actually used to create this document. It ends with xxxxx.rsrc. I even tried to open it on my PC and it says there is no default application specified to open the document.

Have you tried opening your file with Textedit?
Also, if you select the file from the Finder and type cmnd-I (Get Info), it should tell you what program can be used to open it.

If you wipe it you can not longer locate or comunicate with it. The find feature can be disabled by turning the iPod off. It can be permently removed by restoring the ioOd.
Apple will not help with anything
Report it to the police and change passwords for all accounts used on the iPod.

multiple ways to find out when DCPROMO was executed......
* Check the DCPROMO.LOG in C:\Windows\Debug
* Check the creation dates of the folder for the NTDS.DIT file and the SYSVOL
* Check the creation of the computer account, the NTDS Settings object (all in AD)
this should give you an idea of when DCPROMO was executed

yeah like you already can see, i want to find out if my Blackberry is stolen. I heared something about a NOC System and i wasn't sure because i can't work with the Browser and there is no Service Books and Host Routing Table. If i click on "Now register" in the Host Routing Table it says, it sent a Register Message but i don't recieve anything. Is there any way i can check the IMEI Number to control if it is stolen? GOing to the Police and ask them for it is a bad idea, living in Portugal and i don't speak Portugues. Already say thx for any help.

You can for sure check if the device was registered just going here http://www.apple.com/it/support/contact/
This is the link in Italian. try to put us instead of it between com/ and /support to get US. and try to register it.
But I believe if it is still in its package it will probably not jet regiostered.
Try google: there is probably a page were pepople put stolen devices.

i want to write a bash script for my wireless lan. for this i need the information, if the network daemon has connected successfully or failed.
but there is a big problem: starting network success' every time, whether there was an error or not:
$ /etc/rc.d/network start

Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; No such device.
[FAIL]
:: Starting Network [DONE]
$ ls /var/run/daemons/
... network ...
can someone help me please? how can i realize that "::Starting Network ..." also fails and the script returns an exit status 1?

try using netcfg to start the wireless profile, that should keep you happy until the new network scripts are unleashed... which won't have this problem.

the easiest way is you can send the parameters for the command link and the
output link.this parameters will be the unique id of the rows ur r populating .
get those parameters by:
request.getParameter(keep the id u kept in the parameters list);
I worked it out before ,its perfect.
