My son lost his ipad on a trip. I have no backup in itunes. Where can i get imei or serialnumber? The device is connected to Icloud and i have send locked message to the device. In order to search for the device thru lost and found services i need the serial or Imei. Anyone that have an Idea ??

Hi, my company has recently started issuing techs iPhones and iPads. I have an iPad here we got back from an employee after termination. He gave me his 4 digit passcode to get into the iPad, I removed the passcode to unlock, and did a reset on the device. Turn it on, I get the "Hello" screen and the initial set up pages. I get to the page with "input your Apple ID" and when I tried to enter a new ID, it wouldn't accept it because the device had already been associated with a different Apple ID. The prompt it gave was to log in online with the original Apple ID and remove the device. Well... can't do that since the employee is long gone and that's not going to happen. So what do I do here? How do I remove it to set up a new Apple ID?

Without the ID/password, you won't be able to use it. Suggest you take it to an Apple store. They may have some advice.

Hi i've recently lost my iPhone (3GS) and to make a claim on my home insurance I need the IMEI number. I can't find the original packaging so the only way I can find it is off iTunes. On the Apple website it says that it'll come up when I go to the preferences screen and hover my mouse over 'devices' but it doesn't, and it also doesn't come up on the 'about iTunes' screen. On the website these tips are given showing iTunes 8, presumably off a Mac. I'm running iTunes 10 on Windows Vista if that makes a difference. Does anybody know how too find it? Thanks.

If you moved them to your iPad then they will have been removed from your Mac. Just move your iTunes library to you new computer. You can transfer iTunes purchases to you new computer from your iPod by:

Use Google and find some other unofficial copy. This is not supported by Apple (downgrading that is) and purely at your own risk. If you end up with one that has spyware, etc., it will be entirely your problem.
