How to find iMessages on mac pro when iMessage was already disabled on pro

I turned off imessages on my macbook pro, but somehow someone on my computer saw random imessages somehow. I dont know where they saw them and I am trying to figure out where. Its hard to explain but can anybody help me out with this? It was a folder somewhere, he came upon it as he was trying to find an email message he thought he deleted.

Perhaps you have disabled the notifications for the Messages application. Click the Apple button on the top left of your screen > System Preferences > Notifications. Here you will find various notifications for different applications, including Messages. Ensure everything is enabled to default.
It should look like this:
After you have everything enabled correctly, go back to System Preferences > Trackpad
You should be able to find the gesture to open the notification center here.
Once viewing Notification Center, you should be able to see all of the alerts from the Messages application.

    I have a WD Passport HD attached to my Mac. When it was last connected it went into sleep mode and ran out of battery. Now I cannot find my HD in Finder and Disk Utilities is telling me it cannot repair the HD. I can see the HD but the volume part is greyed out. Any ideas on how to recover my data?

    There are other methodologies of scanning a HD
    which involve data extraction, but loss of metadata is often the result if the directory is corrupt.
    Metadata is the info on what the data IS.
    Like having all your papers thrown in the air, its all there, but just a giant mess.
    This is why you always always must have several external HD redundancies of your data.  One isnt enough, neither is two really.
    see here, and dont let that happen again>
    Methodology to protect your data. Backups vs. Archives. Long-term data protection
    Was that your only copy of your priceless data?  Just that one external HD?

    I know nothing about your printer. However, to use it properly you must Add the printer in Print & Scan preferences.
    See OS X Mavericks- Set up a printer. Also, consult the printer's user manual. With the proper setup the printer should print color or b/w automatically. If you have further problems you need to start with the printer HP's tech support.

  • How to delete applications from mac pro?

    I think many people struggling at "How to delete appalications from Mac pro ,just because you made some mistakes or curious !" I know it is a bit difficut for people who are new users for the Mac .
    If you really don't want them ,you can delete them easily,
    As all you know after you download appalications from anywhere  ,it could be from apple app store or from other websites. They all can be disspeared if you don't like them .
    First , If you installed from apple app store  it will be really easily  just click at the app on the launchpad, after few seconds all the apps will be all shaking like leaves ,yes they are scared .(No No  don't delete me  I am helpful !) Ok yes  that is a little joke ! so what you can see now there is a small "x" at the top right corner .Can you see them ? just click the "x" And they will gone .
    Second step. This is only for you downoaded from other websites , In that case  , you just skip first step come to here  in order to save you some golden time .
    You can delete them from the launchpad , I have tried many times . i tried to drug them in the the trash . But after them all jump back to where they are , So you need to open the Finder ---> click the download -----> find the file which is belong to the app (make sure ) ------->click it  -----> drug it into the trash. then you can hear a little sound like you through it into the bin. it is really humanny  isn't it ? then go back to the finder again .---->click the application -------> find the icon on there which is you just drag into the trash.  do it again . take this one into the trash as well  then you will find the icon on the launchpad is disppeared . at the end don't forget to empty your trash   After that all job done , it is been deleted  ,
    Well done !
    Hope this could help all of your!
    Thanks for reading !

  • How can I upgrade my Mac Pro

    Hello,
    I have a Mac Pro. Here are the specs :
    Mac OS X 10.5.8
    MacPro1,1
    NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT
    When OS 10.6 came out, I found out that I couldn't upgrade to it because of my graphic card. In the technical specifications it is mentioned that :
    OpenCL
    requires one of the following graphics cards or graphics processors:
    NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, GeForce 9600M GT, GeForce 8600M GT, GeForce GT 120, GeForce GT 130, GeForce GTX 285, GeForce 8800 GT, GeForce 8800 GS, Quadro FX 4800, Quadro FX5600
    ATI Radeon 4850, Radeon 4870
    Now, OS 10.5.8 is becoming more and more outdated. I would like to know how can I upgrade my Mac Pro ? What kind of graphic card can I put in ?
    Thank you for any help and/or information !

    It's been a while since I've used it but I installed Snow Leopard on my old Mac Pro 1,1 with the 7300GT and it worked. OpenCL may not have but the rest of it did. I don't think what you've quoted says you can't upgrade but only that an upgrade won't deliver all of the features in Snow Leopard. Indeed, I was able to move the HD in the 1,1 Mac Pro into the 5,1 Mac Pro, boot from it (10.6.4 is the minimum the 2010 Mac Pro will boot with), clone it and then updated it.

    NicholasLiban -
       When you use the Lion restore as described, it does a fresh install on the hard drive that you can select at the beginning of the process.  This provides a complete install of the very latest version of Lion, including the recovery partition.  The drive that you choose for the installation destination winds up like what you would have on a brand new computer from Apple.

  • How is the performance of Mac Pro if i use it as host for windows and linux virtual machines.

    How is the performance of Mac Pro if i use it as host for windows and linux virtual machines.
    I am planning to buy a high performance PC to run my Windows and Linux servers as vitrual machines for my testing purposes.
    Initially i planned to build my own computer with recommended configurations but considering space constaints and cooling factors i think Mac Pro can be a choice. But need some inputs if Mac pro (Intel Xeon E5, 12 GB RAM) is good for running virtual Machines.

    You could even run Windows natively and still run your VM servers.
    I have seen reports and such on MacRumors and elsewhere - run Windows natively as well as VMs (can also do testing and run Mavericks in a VM under Mavericks)
    The fast internal PCIe-SSD, plus 6 or 8 cores, and 32-64GB RAM. Of course for $5,000 for 8-core, some Thunderbolt storage and 32GB/64GB RAM you can buy some serious hardware.

  • How to get a new mac pro?

    Hello,
    I'm in a need of a new Mac Pro, but I live in Sweden and they don't seem to be available here anymore. The iMac is not a choice since it's not very much faster than my current 2008 Mac Pro and doesn't have pci slots and multiple harddrives. I work with pro audio, and I have used mac since childhood and am not very happy to switch to Windows.
    What does Apple tell one like me to do at this moment?

    Hello,
    A couple of ideas for your situation.. Apple just stopped selling the Mac Pro in Europe, so you could likely still find a new one in the box at an independent (authorized) Apple dealer in Stockholm. Remember it's only Apple's online store and Apple retail stores that stopped selling the Mac Pro. It's only been a few days so I would think some independent dealers (again, Authorized Apple Dealer) could very well still have a few Mac Pros in their inventory.
    Another possible solution: your current Mac Pro could be made better (a LOT better) if you still have the 2008 stock configuration. For instance, if you have the stock Radeon HD 2600 XT still in your machine, it's being seriously limited from its potential. That card is WAY under powered for the Mac Pro. BareFeats has tested and confirmed that the Radeon HD 5870 Upgrade Kit from Apple works flawlessly on the 2008 Mac Pro. And Tech Radar in their review at the end of 2009 proclaimed the 5870 the absolute best GPU on the planet, (yes, in 2013 there's now even more powerful cards). But the 5870 is still awesome.
    So, a few ideas to make your Mac Pro almost feel like a completely new Mac:  1) Buy the Snow Leopard (10.6.3) retail DVD that Apple is currently still selling on their online store only (Part# MC573Z/A on the USA online store anyhow). 2) Buy the newest Western Digital Velociraptor (WD1000DHTZ) for your new boot drive and applications, (also available in 250 GB and 500 GB sizes). Install a completely new virgin copy of Snow Leopard from the retail DVD on your new blazing 10,000rpm Velociraptor. Of course, you can go the SSD route too if you wish. Then, of course, install the 10.6.8 Combo Update from Apple through Software Update, as well as all the other security updates, Flash Player updates, etc. (In my opinion, Snow Leopard is still far and away the best version of Mac OS X). 3) Upgrade your RAM to the optimum level with genuine Hynix, Samsung or Micron memory modules. 4) Buy the Radeon HD 5870 Graphics Card Upgrade from Apple (the biggest part of the improvement). Without exaggeration, the improvement in performance over the HD 2600 XT will be so HUGE you will be stunned! And by installing the HD 5870 (which has Mini Display ports) you will now be able to buy the 27" LED Cinema Display, from the Apple Store naturally  : )  I still think the Cinema Display looks even nicer than the 2012 27" iMac display.
    It's a significant investment in terms of money, but you would feel like you're practically getting getting a completely new system : )  Then again, you might just find a new Mac Pro in an independent store, but the current shipping Mac Pros have firmware that prevents them from installing/running Snow Leopard, (a big minus in my opionion). If you're happy with Mountain Lion, this doesn't matter then.
    Good luck either way!

  • How to find out which object on a JPanel was clicked...

    I have a JPanel that contains about 200 other small JPanels(only 8 are visible at any one time), and a JButton(with Visible set to false).
    When one of the small JPanels is rightclicked i want to know which one was clicked so I can add the JButton to it (set theJButton Visible on the JPanel that was rightclicked). When the JButton is clicked, it will hide the JPanel it was on and hide itself again.
    I added a MouseListener(MousePressed) to the main Jpanel but I dont know how to find out which of the smaller JPanels was clicked. I would Also need to know how (in the ActionEvent for the JButton) the JButton knows which JPanel it is on so it knows which one to delete.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------CODE
    void JPanel1_mousePressed(MouseEvent e) {
    if ((e.getModifiers() & e.BUTTON3_MASK)!=0){
    ------------------------------------------------------------------CODE
    void JButton1_actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
    ------------------------------------------------------------------CODE
    Can this be done or should I add a MousePressed Listener to each of the 200 small JPanels and create a JButton for each of them??
    Any Info Appreciated... Thanks....

    Here you get a hint, hope have added all mouseListener as well and registered....addMouseLi...etc
    // many JPanels here...
    JPanel clickedPanel;  // a reference only
    // In mouse Click..
    public void mouseClicked( MouseEvent e ){
              clickedPanel = e.getSource( );
              clickedPanel.add(new JButton("Look, I am Added") );
    }  // it is Only HINT, a working HINT
