How to find MAC address for WAN port for Airport Express 2nd Gen.

The New Airport Express has a LAN and a WAN ethernet ports. How can I find the MAC address for the WAN ethernet port as my Service Provider needs it for provisioning....I can fid MAC address for Ethernet and for two wireless 2.4 & 5GHz but not for WAN ethernet port using Airport Utility 6.1

Many thanks for the swift response. However, there is no WAN MAC address on the box or on the device anywhere. I even used magnifying glass to find one .
The airport utility shows only three mac addresses. One for 2.4GHz, one for 5GHz and one fo the ethernet (LAN port) whereas there is another ethernet port in the device mentioned as WAN port and I am still not able to find the MAC address for the WAN ehternet port for Airport Express (2nd Generation).
Will appreciate a response to make th device work wiht my service provider as providing them the WAN mac address is a must. Had there been an option for cloning mac address, the issue would have not been there.
Many thanks again - in advance.

    WCS record-keeping is very crude.
    You'll get the time/date when the client authenticated.  You'll get the local inside address but you'll need the router to translate the outside IP address and the port.
    You will need a proxy server to determine what sites did a wireless client goes.

    Hola:

    What model and firmware is the 2TB TC?
    What firmware is the AE?
    Does the AE get good signal from the TC in its current location?
    Signal can only be extended that is received intact.
    Is it extending on 5ghz? As I remember it a Gen2 AE is only single band, although you can choose either 2.4ghz or 5ghz.
    I am fairly sure you are going to tell me your TC is AC model..
    I would do a couple of things..
    1. Fix the wireless name, make it short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
    2. Fix the wireless channel for 2.4ghz so it is not going to jump around.
    3. Get real results from the AE in its current location for signal strength.. this is really only possible on v5 utility. And that is a double pain with Mavericks because you cannot use it.
    Apple have removed all the useful diagnostics from the airport utility. There is next to nothing left. So you need to use the computer and its diagnostics to find signal levels in the location.

  • How to find MAC Address in Java, Windows Environment

    Dear All,
    How to find the MAC address of a machine, provided the IPAddress of the machine.
    Thnx in advance..

    Generally you can't. MAC addresses do not travel through routers.
    For computers on your local subnet: connect to the computer somehow so that your computer knows the MAC, then run the command "arp -a" with Runtime.exec() and parse the output.
    Or write a program/servlet that runs on the remote computer and returns that computer's MAC (or some of the MACs for computers with several network cards.)

    Use the System Information. To get to this, go to the Apple menu, select About this Mac, and click the System Report button.
    In the left column go to Network and select Wifi. Under interfaces select en1 and look for the MAC address.
    Alternatively you can use System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced button > Hardware tab > MAC address.

  • How to find MAC-Address of a device using ADF mobile?

    Hi,
    I am developing an mobile application using ADF Mobile. The application necessitates the use of MAC Address for further development.
    Android SDK provides an easy way to find the MAC Address as:
    WifiManager wifiManager = (WifiManager) getSystemService(Context.WIFI_SERVICE);
    WifiInfo wInfo = wifiManager.getConnectionInfo();
    String macAddress = wInfo.getMacAddress();
    Is there a similar way in ADF mobile to retrieve the MAC Address of the device?
    Regards,
    Joseph

    This cant be done.

  • Lan and Wan port on Airport express

    Hi guys I am wondering if you could help me out with my airport express.
    I recently bought an airport express and have it set up as the following:
    Router--->ethernet cable in to the Wan of Airport express--->ethernet from Airport Express Lan to computer
    This is so that I have hardwired internet to my gaming computer and wifi in my room for all my devices. The problem is, however, next year I will not be in a situation that allows me the same setup. I will be too far away to run an ethernet cable from the router to the airport express. So I have decided I shall use it to join the network wirelessly and relay internet through both the Wan and Lan port (think this is called bridge mode?). I was also intending on connecting an ethernet hub to one of the ports so that I can connect multiple devices, smart tv, macbook, ps3 etc. But having one of the ports exclusively to my gaming pc.
    My question is, with both Lan and Wan ports relaying internet to multiple devices, would I see a drop in performance, in particular in regard to my compter? Or is the airport express able to join both the 2.4GHz or 5GHz and relay each connection to a specific lan port?
    Unfortunately I am not in a position to test this yet, lacking a 5GHz connection in my halls, so I would appreciate if anyone could help shed some light.
    Thank you

    is the main router also an apple product? if so, then yes you can extend wirelessly, but if the main router is an apple product, why are you bothering to extend wirelessly at all when the main router's signals should be strong enough?
    if the main router is NOT an apple router, then you wil NOT be able to extend it wirelessly period.
    in my experience, there are very FEW places you NEED to extend a network wirelessly, and i always recommend against it since there is a big performance decrease.
    In the case of a wirelessly extended network, throughput may be reduced to less than 60 percent of that of a single device.

  • How much power can deliver the USB port on AirPort Express?

    I am developing an appliance that requieres access to a WiFi router and a power source (UL 60950-1 compliant) of less than one watt (100-200 mA @ 3.3V) to power my own WiFi device, and the AirPort Express can be the right device to solve both problems with minimun overhead. The problem is that I cannot find the specification of the current / power limits of its USB port.
    To check if it can provide the usual five unit loads, I tried to charge an iPhone 4, but it fails showing the message "Charging is not supported with this accessory", and an external 2.5" HD which requires 500 mA causes the following message to appear on AirPort Utility:
    USB Power
    A device connected to this AirPort base station's USB port requires more power than this AirPort base station can provide. Plug the device into a power supply if possible, or connect it to a powered USB hub.
    Any insight will be welcome.

    Never mind - I tried "rebooting". I hate it how that always works!

  • How many mac-addresses a single port can store ?

    How many mac-addresses a single port can store ?
    And also what is the max limit for mac-addresses on a switch ?
    Regards,
    Chandu

    Hi,
    I don't think there is a limit per port.
    The limit is the max number of entries in the CAM table so if for example the CAM table limit is 8000 and you already got 7200 entries you can have the 800 enties on different ports or on one port.

  • How to get Mac Address of Remote Computer

    Hi All,
    I tried to find out a solution for finding Mac Address of a remote system, then first i tried with finding it with local address using the following code it works fine for me.
    public class MacAddressFinder {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              try
                   InetAddress ipAddr = InetAddress.getLocalHost();
                   System.out.println("Current IP address : " + ipAddr.getHostAddress());
                   NetworkInterface nwIntf;
                   try
                        nwIntf = NetworkInterface.getByInetAddress(ipAddr);
                        byte[] hwAddr = nwIntf.getHardwareAddress();
                        System.out.print("Current MAC address : ");
                        StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder();
                        for (int i = 0; i < hwAddr.length; i++)
                             sb.append(String.format("%02X%s", hwAddr, (i < hwAddr.length - 1) ? "-" : ""));
                        System.out.println(sb);
                   } catch (SocketException e) {
                        e.printStackTrace();
              catch (UnknownHostException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
    But when i tried this piece of code in jsp with the following code i am getting NeworkInterface object value as null and there by i am unable to get the Mac Address of a remote computer.
    InetAddress ipAddr = InetAddress.getByName(request.getRemoteAddr());
    NetworkInterface nwIntf = NetworkInterface.getByInetAddress(ipAddr);Can you please suggest me how to find out the Mac address of remote system?
    Thanks,
    Uday

    first of all, NetworkInterface only exposes the NetworkInterfaces of the local computer. secondly, you cannot find the mac address of an arbitrary remote computer. that information is not available outside of the local subnet. and java doesn't expose a way to discover it even for computers on the local subnet.

  • How to see mac address in IPS 4240 ???

    Hi all,
    How to see mac-address of inline-vlan-pair ?  and how to see mac-address of management interface in IPS ?
    Regards,
    Kiran

    Hello Kiran,
    The inline-vlan-pair itself is tied to a particular interface. So you're really asking for the MAC address of the interface associated with the inline-vlan-pair.
    The MAC address of sensing ports will be added to a "show interfaces" via CSCse84414. You can currently view the MAC address of sensing interfaces by doing an "ifconfig -a" from the service account.
