i think in standard way you cannot able to capture,what you can do is create measuring point has operating hours and you have to confirm periodically as how much hours it has worked ,then based on your malfunction report for breakdown hours you can manually calculate the performance

How to find out which class/method is calling System.gc

Hi
I am seeing frequent FULL GC and not able to locate which particular class/method is calling the System.gc(). I have disabled it using -XX:DisableExplicitGC and performance issues have been resolved. Also, I noticed that it does not happen periodically, so it is not RMI GC. How to find out who exactly is doing this? Does any of of the profilers like Optimizeit/Jprobe help find out this.

I am seeing frequent FULL GC This is because you are creating and destroying objects VERY frequently. Try to look at your design and see where you can reuse objects (i.e. object pooling) if possible, that is if this is adversely affecting performance.

Set the JAVA_HOME and PATH
then execute the

Go to directory which contains weblogic.jar ($WL_HOME\server\lib) and run below command

I am trying to clean up all the junk queries in BWP. my questions is, How to find out that the particular query ran how my times in a year and by which user using ST03, How to do it step by step?
I don't like to use statistic reports for this. How to do it using ST03?

ADF: How to find out which query has taken what time?

Hi,
I have an ADF application which has many SQL queried running on each button click/page load, so how to find out which query is taking what amount of time? So that i can identify the long running queries and modify them to improve the application performance.

As suggested by Timo,you need to start tracing on oracle.jbo package for getting the SQL queries.But I think the second option suggested by him would be better.You will have to override executeQueryForCollection method in VO Impl class .Pseudo code would be
@Override
Take start time
super.executeQueryForCollection
Take end time

How to find out that the database table is empty

Hello all,
How to find out in ABAP in the best performant way, that the database table is empty. The table could have several milions of records or be empty. SELECT count( * ) looks to me as not the best way.

check lt_mytable is initial.
This will be true if there are no lines.
Another:
describe table lt_mytable lines lv_count
if lv_count = 0.

Function Modules
Function modules are procedures that are defined in special ABAP programs only, so-called function groups, but can be called from all ABAP programs. Function groups act as containers for function modules that logically belong together. You create function groups and function modules in the ABAP Workbench using the Function Builder.
Function modules allow you to encapsulate and reuse global functions in the SAP System. They are managed in a central function library. The SAP System contains several predefined functions modules that can be called from any ABAP program. Function modules also play an important role during updating and in interaction between different SAP systems, or between SAP systems and remote systems through remote communications.
Unlike subroutines, you do not define function modules in the source code of your program. Instead, you use the Function Builder. The actual ABAP interface definition remains hidden from the programmer. You can define the input parameters of a function module as optional. You can also assign default values to them. Function modules also support exception handling. This allows you to catch certain errors while the function module is running. You can test function modules without having to include them in a program using the Function Builder.
The Function Builder also has a release process for function modules. This ensures that incompatible changes cannot be made to any function modules that have already been released. This applies particularly to the interface. Programs that use a released function module will not cease to work if the function module is changed.

You can execute function module in SE37ie you can perform the activiites defined in the function module by executing it.
By deleting BOM you mention the FM name in se37 and execute. In some function module it will ask input parameters as developed in the program , you have to give the input parameters and execute.

How to find out the column causing the error while doing update or insert

I'm getting the below error when attempt to update or insert a long string that is more than its defined length in the DB2. For example in table the column length is defined as 50, however from UI the data for that column is more than 50 chars.

The above issue can be fixed by setting maxlength in the UI itself. However in my case, there is a backend program trying to insert or update load of records. If the exact column name causing the error is known, it will be helpful to load the data properly in the next attempt.
I have worked around it using SQLWarning and DataTruncation, but couldn't find the solution yet.
Any help on this issue will be really appreciated.

How you implement doesn't matter.
However given a schema generating code for such validation is trivially simple at least for field types and sizes. Relationships are harder but those can be handled via custom rules.

Other than that the only possibility is making some sort of call in db2 itself that tells you the error. Only problem with that is it might require the context which might not be available once you see the error (presuming, especially for performance, that you are using batch processing.)
As a start figure out how to find out using only db2 (docs and/or db2 forums.)

Normally, ASE not reboot for production. Only for maintenance or performance tuning, maybe need to reboot ASE.

one way maybe is check errorlog. Any more simple way no need to login to server OS?

We have recieved a query from client.
they want us to tell them peak work load (volume of data database manage at peak work load hours).
now the question is how to find out peak workload and peak workload hour in live prod database?
i do not think AWR report will give any clue on this even if when extract it for the hours when my database is into some daily planned activity with lots of transactions.

The OEM portal allows you to view performance data in a chart over time, based on data in the AWR tables. If you don't have OEM configured, then you can select directly from the tables and sum by snap. Or if you are collecting data at OS level, (SAR etc) then use that.
If they are just interested in data changes, then you could just select FIRST_TIME, blocks *block_size from v$archived_log and break it down by hour etc.
