How to find out size of Apple TV hard drive?

A friend of mine recently gave me an old 1st generation Apple TV to sell on eBay. He doesn't remember which size hard drive it has (40GB or 160GB), and I'm having difficulty finding it. Does anyone know where to find that info? Thanks.

The folllowing instructions assume that your Apple TV is up and running, and is regustered with iTunes.  If this is not te case, you'll have to resort to finding and matching model numbers as other posters have inicated.  It also applies only to the 1st Generation Apple TV (the silver one).
In iTunes 9 or higher, select the Apple TV that appears in the devices list.  There is a capacity bar that shows you what space is used for what media type, but it also indicates the space remaining on the drive.  From that, you can deduce the size of the Apple TV's internal hard disk.

  • How to find out size of tables

Can you please suggest me how to find out the size of tables?
I need to find what would be the appropriate size required for rollback segment.
Your quick help would be highly appreciated.

Sizing the Rollback Segments (rollback segment) is an iterative process and requires several scheduled maintenance windows to re-size the rollback segment, based on the DML load. The optimal rollback segment size is a function of system update load (as determined by v$rollstat and v$transaction):
    a) The COMMIT frequency.
    b) The size of RAM log buffers.
    c) Specific Oracle parameters (log_buffer, db_writer_processes, log_checkpoint_interval).
    d) The size of the rollback segment data files.
The total size of the UNDO area for a specific transaction is as follows:
If the undo is 'x' bytes for 'n' number of rows then
    T = x * (N / n) * 1.05
Where T = Approximate Total undo for the transaction in bytes.
x = Undo for the individual transaction.
N = Total number of rows in the original table.
n = Total number of rows in the test table.
Optimal rollback segment sizing is an iterative process, and is normally "tuned" over a period of several weeks. Generally, we build spreadsheets to track usage and determine the optimal size:

  • How to find out if multiple apple ID's are attached to one icloud?

Hi - I recently bought an iPhone 5c, and when restoring the new phone from my last icloud back up I was prompted to enter the password's for 3 different apple ID's. One was my friend's apple ID, the other two were connected to really old email addresses that haven't been used in ages. How do I find out if these are somehow attached to my icloud? Also I keep getting a message that icloud can't be backed up because there isn't enough storage; I have deleted all of the data for all of my apps, including the camera roll, and it still says it's too full. Is it possible that my friend (the one whose apple ID popped up when I was restoring from a back up) are on the same icloud? Help!

Each iCloud account only has a single ID.  It isn't possible to have more than one ID for an iCloud account.  The reason you were asked to enter the password for those IDs when you restored the backup is that there was purchased media (apps, music, etc.) on the device that was backed up that was purchased with these IDs.  During the restore process, before the backup will restore this media to your device, you have to provide the correct passwords before they will be redownloaded from the iTuens & App store to your device.
The only way your friend could be backing up to your account would be if you were both sharing the account, using the same ID.
If you're out of space, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage to get an idea what is using your storage.  You may have backups of old devices listed that you no longer need that are using your space.  You also might have lots of email using it.  Another space hog is your text messages.  If you have lots of photos and videos in your text messages, these are included in the backup and can use quite a bit of space.  If so, go through your text conversations and delete these attachments.

  • How to find out the script name used in driver program

    Hi Folks ,
I want to find out the Scripts(print program) used in my driver pogram .
How is it possible any Tcode availble for this ?
    Thanks ,
    Jaga.D

    Hi Jagadish,
Go to transaction SE38 and open the program RSNAST00. There search for the subroutine TNAPR_LESEN.
Set a break point at that subroutine and leave. When printing the data from a transaction to a script or form (Like VA01 or VL02N), debugger is started when the processing reaches the subroutine in RSNAST00. There double click on the field TNAPR-FONAM. continue step-by-step execution. The field will display the name of the script or form that is currently being used.
Another way to do this is to go to transaction NACE and check the transaction for which you want to find out the script. There you will find the script and print program that have been set for a particular transaction.

  • How do I find out what's on my hard drive and clean it up

Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive
      1. See Lion/Mountain Lion/Mavericks' Storage Display.
      2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
      3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
      4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
      5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
      6. See The Storage Display.
You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.

  • How to find my FCE serial number / new Hard Drive

I recently replaced my hard drive and I had my serial# written down on my install disk but it did not work when I tried to re-install. On my external drive I found a Final Cut Express system id showing the product registered to me. There are some characters that look like a serial number but they do not work either. Most likely I never registered FC, so I am not sure if calling Apple will help.
Anybody know where I could locate the serial number that may be hidden somewhere on my external drive?
    Thanks

Thanks for the replies. The serial# stickers are gone. I had written the serial numbers on the disk and they did not work when trying to install. I must have written the numbers down wrong which I find strange b/c I am ususally very careful.
Since I installed a new HD, FCE is not on this new hard drive and no way for me to launch to get the serial#. On an external drive I found the system id file, but no luck there either.
Any other ideas how could I get this done without buying FCE again?
    Thanks

  • Send email after finding out the PrimaryStatus of the hard drives

    Hi,
I have a script that will run through all names in the active directory and scan each to find things like the name, model, driveUsage and Primary status. However, I don't want to go through all logs to find the failing hard drive in one of the computers.
I want to be able to send an email if one of the hard drives in any computer fails (PrimaryStatus is 2 or 3). My current script is:
    Import-Module ActiveDirectory
    $Computers = Get-ADComputer -Filter "OperatingSystem -NotLike '*Windows Server*'" | ForEach-Object {$_.Name} |
    out-file names.txt
    $computerNames = Get-Content -Path C:\scripts\names.txt
    foreach ($computer in $computerNames) {
      $rtn = Test-Connection -computername $computer -Count 1 -BufferSize 16 -Quiet
      IF($rtn -match 'True') {
      write-host "$computer"
      gwmi -Namespace root\dcim\sysman -computername $computer -Class DCIM_PhysicalDiskView | select-object Ele*,Mod*,Ser*,Driveu*,pri* | Format-table –autosize
      ELSE { Write-host "$computer not pingable" }
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

there's a few ways you can do that, the first that comes to mind. (insert into your script
    $AlertNums = @("2","3")
    $smtpserver = "1.2.3.4" # your mail server here
$smtpFrom = "[email protected]" # your from address, mail server will most likely allow any
$smtpTo = "[email protected]" #your email address here. can also be an array and will send to all
$MessageSubject = "Failed Disk in $Computer" #whatever you want the subject to be.
    $Computers = Get-ADComputer -Filter "OperatingSystem -NotLike '*Windows Server*'" | ForEach-Object {$_.Name} |
    out-file names.txt
    $computerNames = Get-Content -Path C:\scripts\names.txt
    foreach ($computer in $computerNames)
        $rtn = Test-Connection -computername $computer -Count 1 -BufferSize 16 -Quiet
        IF($rtn -match 'True')
        write-host "$computer"
        $Disks = gwmi -Namespace root\dcim\sysman -computername $computer -Class DCIM_PhysicalDiskView | select-object Ele*,Mod*,Ser*,Driveu*,pri*
        ForEach($Disk in $Disks)
                if($AlertNums -contains $($Disk.PrimaryStatus))
                    Send-MailMessage -SmtpServer $smtpserver -from $smtpFrom -to $smtpto -subject $messageSubject
        ELSE
            Write-host "$computer not pingable"

A way to measure pretty much anything is to select the Ruler tool, then drag from one side to the other...
Once you've set the endpoints, you can read the results near the top of the Photoshop main window.  It will read out in whatever units you've set in Edit - Preferences - Units & Rulers

  • How to find "My Templates" folder in the hard drive?  Or "Mainstage Concerts" folder, "Mainstage Layouts" folder

So far I have saved quite a few concerts as templates, but now I want to delete some of the older ones, so they stop showing up teach time I want to start a new concert from a template. I have been looking for the folder in library, application support, logic, also in the mainstage app icon's package contents, but I can't find how to delete those saved templates, and exported layouts. Please advise me on this.

    Hi
If you are running Lion OS, the <User> (Home) folder where MS 2.1.3 stores these files is hidden by default.
The easiest way to get there is using the Finder;Go menu: Hold down Option (Alt) and the Library will show up in the Go Menu.
Once you have the User Library window open, drag it to the Sidebar.
(There are also ways of 'un-hiding' the <User> Library via Terminal etc)
    The Mainstage files are in
    <User> Library:Application Support:Logic.

  • How do I re-format an Apple 3TB Hard-Drive for use as a Time Capsule?

I have an Apple Time 3 TB Capsule that is also a WiFi Router - I've removed all backup data (from my iMac Time Machine) and I wish to reformat the drive and reset it as a Time Capsule (I wish to rename it besides "Data" if possible). This Time Capsule and Router is the earlier flat version Apple produced before the current vertical standing Time Capsule and Router. Any help, greatly appreciated.

All Time Capsule drive formatting is done via Airport Utility under the Disks tab. You can find more by clicking on Airport Utility Help in the Help menu and searching for "erase."

  • How do I check what RPM my current hard drive is?

Hi I am unsure how to find out the rpm of my hard drive- could anyone offer any advice? Thanks

    Hi
Usually this should be mentioned on the label which is placed on the HDD.
You can also use an 3rd party hardware diagnostic tool like Everest Home Edit or Sandra Tool which scan the notebooks hardware and provide the details about single parts.
