How to find out the AI mode using traditional NI driver and VC++ 6.0?

Hello,
the software I manage is written in VC++ 6.0 and utilizes the traditional NI driver. The board used is PCI6013/6014.
The AI mode though may be either differential or nonreferenced single ended. By now we configure the board using Measurement and Automation Explorer, which is OK but is not actually friendly for end users. What I would like to have is at least to be able get the current mode somehow so that the program could warn a user the mode should be changed. Better yet if the program could overwrite the current mode setting so that there would be no need to run Measurement and Automation Explorer at all.
I tried to use AI_Configure function. It looks like it does nothing in this respect - at least for this type of board.
Is there any other way to achieve my goal (direct access to registry settings?)?

Hi Mike,
Actually you are on the right path.
If you use the AI_Configure command then you can set the input configuration of the DAQ Board. As seen in the Traditional DAQ C Function Reference Help (Start > National Instruments > NI-DAQ):
AI_Configure
status = AI_Configure (deviceNumber, chan, inputMode,
inputRange, polarity, driveAIS)
Purpose
Informs Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) of the input mode
(single-ended or differential), input range, and input polarity selected for the
device. Use this function if you have changed the jumpers affecting the analog
input configuration from their factory settings. For devices without analog
input configuration jumpers, this function programs the device for the settings
you want.

How to find out the Source Query used to display the data in the DBI Reports or Dashboards. We can get it in Apps Front end by Going to Help and Record Histroty. But DBI Runs in Internet Explorer so i dont know how to get the source query ( SELECT Query ) Used.
In IE we have View --> Source . But that does not help since it gives the HTML Coding and not the SELECT Query used.
If anyone has ever worked on it...Please help me in finding it.

Hi neeraj,
You can see the query used to display reports.Follow these steps to get the query.
1)Login to oracle apps
2)Select "Daily Business Intelligence Administrator" responsiblity.
3)Now click on "Enable/Disable Debugging" (Now u enabled debugging)
4)now open the report which you want to see the query of
5)In view source it displays query along with the bind varilables.

Hi Jagadish,
Go to transaction SE38 and open the program RSNAST00. There search for the subroutine TNAPR_LESEN.
Set a break point at that subroutine and leave. When printing the data from a transaction to a script or form (Like VA01 or VL02N), debugger is started when the processing reaches the subroutine in RSNAST00. There double click on the field TNAPR-FONAM. continue step-by-step execution. The field will display the name of the script or form that is currently being used.
Another way to do this is to go to transaction NACE and check the transaction for which you want to find out the script. There you will find the script and print program that have been set for a particular transaction.

Hi,
Change the Start Date and End Date of the Job in the SM37 (Date interval shoul be chnged so that the Job is run atleast once during that time period). Now Enter the Job Name BI_BTCH* and User name as *.
Now it will display the list of all the jobs .check the job details of the finished job and check for ZPAK* in th job log whcih will give the InfoPackage Name.

How to find out the list of database tables that will be affected when we use a standard transaction(ex. VA01, MM01..)...?(like When we create a salesorder, which tables and which fields will be affected..?)

Give transaction code and in menu(system- status), double click onthe Program name.
Check in TOP INCLUDE - you will find all the tables related to that transaction.

Function Modules
Function modules are procedures that are defined in special ABAP programs only, so-called function groups, but can be called from all ABAP programs. Function groups act as containers for function modules that logically belong together. You create function groups and function modules in the ABAP Workbench using the Function Builder.
Function modules allow you to encapsulate and reuse global functions in the SAP System. They are managed in a central function library. The SAP System contains several predefined functions modules that can be called from any ABAP program. Function modules also play an important role during updating and in interaction between different SAP systems, or between SAP systems and remote systems through remote communications.
Unlike subroutines, you do not define function modules in the source code of your program. Instead, you use the Function Builder. The actual ABAP interface definition remains hidden from the programmer. You can define the input parameters of a function module as optional. You can also assign default values to them. Function modules also support exception handling. This allows you to catch certain errors while the function module is running. You can test function modules without having to include them in a program using the Function Builder.
The Function Builder also has a release process for function modules. This ensures that incompatible changes cannot be made to any function modules that have already been released. This applies particularly to the interface. Programs that use a released function module will not cease to work if the function module is changed.

You can execute function module in SE37ie you can perform the activiites defined in the function module by executing it.
By deleting BOM you mention the FM name in se37 and execute. In some function module it will ask input parameters as developed in the program , you have to give the input parameters and execute.

With a Sun JDK or JRE, you can use java -version:

If that is the case, on a platform like window 2003 32-bit, one cannot have more than 4GB of shared memory. Windows Server 2003 includes support for a startup switch (entered in the boot.ini file) that allows the allocation of memory and memory address space. Regardless of the amount of physical memory that is installed on the system, the operating system uses a virtual address space of 4 GB. Out of that amount, by default, 2 GB is allocated to user-mode processes (for example, Oracle or TimesTen) and 2 GB is allocated to kernel-mode processes (for example the operating system and others). In a nutshell on systems that have more than 1 GB of RAM, this startup switch can be used to allocate more memory to applications (3 GB) and less memory to the operating system (1 GB). However, adding adding the /3GB switch to the boot.ini file will not increase the amount of physical RAM memory, the 3GB switch just tells the computer to allocate the existing memory space differently.
For a 32-bit TimesTen the limit on memory cannot be more than 2GB (PermSize+TempSize). For example on Linux 32-bit I have 1024MB and 512MB for these two parameters.

How to find out the best settings for BDT

I am trying to predict a movie rating. I downloaded datasets from IMDb, prepared them. A tried all of the regression algorithms, but the best result is giving Boosted Decision Tree. Now I am dealing with the best settings in this algorithm.
With default, running time was 69 seconds and the mean absolute error was 0.4844, which is quite much I think. So I tried to improve it by changing parameters of the BDT module. I tried to set Leaves per tree to 150 and than experimentaly find
remaining parameters. I've come to Samples per leaf=12, Learning rate=0.04 and
Number of trees=700. Running time was 78 seconds and mean absolute error was 0.4596.
Input of the algorithm is joined matrix with 14 columns (11 features) and 67672 rows splitted into 70:30 (training:testing).
Is there any way how to find out the best setting of Boosted Decision Tree?

Yordan's suggestion is correct, though the documentation is a bit outdated.
You can use the single parameter + sweeper mode or define your own custom ranges in the BDT module with the Parameter Range setting

For line you will use the event AT LINE-SELECTION and for event you will use AT USER-COMMAND.

a) Short of scrolling down my very long list of password on the HUD - is there an elegant way to do it - How to find out which passwords were used to create an existing smart album? It's a recurring challenge for me.\ 'cause I like using smart albums, but once in a while need to check or chane the passwords.
b) With annoying regularity when I try to get to this forum and choose Aperture, I get the following message - in pink, no less: It appears you're not allowed to view what you requested. You might contact your administrator if you think this is a mistake.
Any clues?

that message may occur for four reasons at least:
Most frequently, when you are using an outdated link to a post that no longer exists, for example from an email notofication. Sometimes our community host will remove posts, that are in violation of the terms of use: see:

Or you are using the edit button or a bookmark to an "Edit" window, after the fifteen minutes allowed for editing are up.
Or you want to view a page in a restricted section of the ASC - soem perta are only open for members of level 6 or higher.

I really like Kirby's suggestion with the IPTC rule Keyword is. This is very useful for smart albums global to the library.
Frequently a different approach helps for my smart albums. Many of my smart albums are local to projects or folders. In this case the smart HUD will only show those keywords that have been used for the images in the selection. So if I only have tagged the images with the keywords "birds" and "slideshow", the smart settings HUD will only show these two keywords and the list is very short.
My Keywords HUD, is organized hierarchically; this way I can collapse large sections at once, and it is easier to focus on the keywords needed for a specific task.
I use the search field in HUD a lot, to filter the set of keywords shown.
