I searched online and found some suggestions for tracking software. Not knowing who to trust I thought I would bring this to Discussions:

No. If you did not install any tracking mechanism prior to loss, then it cannot be tracked.
For the new computer you can use the tracking provided by iCloud called Find My Phone or Find My Mac.
