How to find system folder in Mavericks?

How do I access system folder in Mavericks?

Now I understand your question.  Have a look at this thread and follow the steps given by gordonol and elgrego...
https://discussions.apple.com/message/23567732#23567732
1. There seems to be a simple solution within Finder. Remove both:
/System/Library/Frameworks/GameKit.framework/Versions/A/Resources/gamed
and
/System/Library/Launch Agents/com.apple.gamed.plist
or
2. Open the Terminal app located in the Utilities Folder. Then copy/paste and run these commands, one at a time:
defaults write com.apple.gamed Disabled -bool true
then
sudo launchctl stop com.apple.gamed
I hope that solves your problem, but now see how bad it is and why you want to access the System Folder too!
Just click on "MacIntosh HD" in the sidebar of Finder. Then navigate to the folder given in the link.

  • How to find mail folder in mavericks backups

Hi,  I am trying to find some mail messages that would be part of my backups of my computer. The OS is Mavericks.  I know that the folder "library"  is hidden and I can find this folder on my current system but I don't know how to find a hidden folder in a backup.  This is what I can see:
    Thank you for your help.

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select the Mail/V2 folder and enter time Machine.

  • IMac cannot find system folder.

I purchased my iMac in March. By June I had it back at the Apple Store for repair.
They replaced the mother board. Now it is doing the same thing again. At start-up it cannot find the system folder most times. If it does start up and I let it go to sleep, when I wake up the iMac, it locks up and upon restart it cannot find the system folder.
I have tried reformating the hard drive and reinstalling the software. It only helps for a while.

I don't know if there's a question in there or not but if it's 'doing the same thing' then take it back. It's still under warranty. We can't fix hardware.

    ITS VERY URGENT
    Thanks in Advance.
    Mahesh

    Hi Mahesh,
here is where you can find the system information about your EP installation (i.e. O/S, DB, components release, etc):
1- Goto the Web AS Java URL (http://<host>:<port>)
2- Select "System Information" and log in as an administrator user
3- After logging in, the system information page displays the O/S, DB, application server level
4- Select "Software Components", select the link "all components" (upper right corner of the table) and then you should be able to see the version of your components/applications
    Hope this answers your question.

  • G4 (AGP Graphics) Won't Find System Folder on Old HDD

I'm trying to help an organization that has been using a Power Mac 4400 (OS 8.6) for many years. The 4400 has ceased to boot. We have a newer G4 (AGP Graphics) that we're attempting to get ready for their service. I've removed the HDD from the 4400, put it in the G4, and run Disk Warrior on it to prove that the drive is OK. Neither Disk First Aid nor Disk Warrior report any problems. The G4, however, will not find the System Folder on this old drive. I'm wondering if this is because the G4 will not boot OS 8.6, i.e. the G4 has a minimum system requirement of OS 9 or something higher? Can somebody enlighten me on this point please.
If this is indeed the case, I ought to be able to update the OS to 9.0 or higher and then reasonably expect the HDD to boot the G4--right? Thank you very much.

The Power Mac G4s were designed with the New World Architecture (ROM-in-RAM), which involved a ROM file (placed in the System folder during the OS installation) being read at startup and loaded into memory. The 4400s did not have such a file, as their "Old World Architecture" read the ROM code from a chip on the motherboard. This is why the 4400's OS 8.6 software build on the hard drive can't boot the G4. Adding to the compatibility problems is the fact that the System Folder is lacking the drivers for the other new hardware found on the G4. If you need to run OS 8.6 because of older programs on the hard drive, I'd recommend installing the original OS from the G4's Restore disk (8.6 or 9.x), using the "Clean Installation" method. The existing System Folder is renamed and saved, while the new one is created. Once finished, you move all necessary third-party files from the "Old System Folder" to the newly-created one.

  • Upon installing Thunderbird on my new computer (after using Outlook and hating it) I am missing at least one folder. How do find that folder?

I have a new computer. My IT support asked me to give Outlook email another chance. I did for a week and decided it's not to my liking. So I installed Thunderbird.
I did a search to find an email, and the search came back - 0 found. I knew this was wrong.
I then went to find the folder the email would have been stored in and found that folder is missing from my fold list.
I do see the folder on my old computer which is still alive, but it's not showing up on my new computer. These are not local folders but are listed in the University's email server.

Sounds like you have an imap mail account.
If you cannot see a folder which is on the server, then you need to subscribe to see it.
So first question is 'Have you subscribed to see it?'
If it is a subfolder, you will need to subscribe to see it as well as the higher tier folder it is in.

  • How to Find System Variables

    Hi All
I need to Find the Hidden Variable i.e., System Variable in a Document like A/R Invoice,A/P Invoice etc
how can we know the variable no.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi madhu,
Usually, the variable number is the only thing you do know. You can go about in two way to find out to what field it relates to
    1. Use the System Variables .xls file to know the field description(not the name). Then open PLD, in a report that uses the same table, and browse through the fields until you find a field with the same description. That field list also indicates the field´s name.
    2. Query the table in question and browse through the columns till you find the desired field.
If there is a more direct way, I also would like to find out.

    Folks,
Hello. I have just installed Oracle Linux 5 as Guest OS on the top of VMPlayer. Host OS is Windows 7.
I downloaded Oracle E-Business Suite R12 from edelivery into Windows 7 in a folder(EBS_R12) on my LapTop screen.
In order to install EBS R12 into Oracle Linux 5, I copy/paste the folder EBS_R12 into Oracle Linux 5 screen. The file size is about 50GB. After coply/paste is completed successfully, I cannot find where is the folder (EBS_R12) in the Guest OS Oracle Linux 5.
Can any folks tell me where is the folder (EBS_R12) in Oracle Linux 5 after copy/paste from Windows 7 ?

    Hi,
After coply/paste is completed successfully, I cannot find where is the folder (EBS_R12) in the Guest OS Oracle Linux 5.Was the copy/paste successful.
If yes then you can do the following
    #find / -name EBS_R12 -type d -print
(Assuming you copied the folder "EBS_R12" , But not its contents).
    Thanks
