Also please tell me how to find if AS is Release 1 (1.0.2.x)

It will show you the database name, path with the dependent server software, database version and operational state of the database instance.

How to find the file versions in Oracle applications?

I am requested by the Oracle applications team to check the versions of the following files.
POXWPA6B.pls-115.68.11510.6
POXWPA7B.pls-115.38.11510.7
I have zero experience in managing oracle applications. I would appreciate if some one could let me know how to find the versions in my server. My DB and the applications are in Linux servers.
Also would appreciate if some one could provide pointers to handling Application DBA scenario like this.

@AnatolySV : I believe you need to put some efforts to understand what he is asking.
You may find the latest version of Cluster Binaries by entering the required keywords for Microsoft Failover Clustering. Some of the main Cluster binaries(Keywords) are:-
Clusres.dll (For Cluster Resources like Disk, Application or Service, Cluster IP)
Clussvc.exe (Cluster Service)
TCPIP.sys (If the Storage is presented to the cluster Nodes via ISCSI Network).
MPIO.sys / ISCSIprt.sys (If we are using Multipathing for the disks to be presented).
RHS.exe (Resource Host Subsystem)
So, the Answer to your question is: You need to enter the binary name "Clusres.dll" and mention the Operating System you want to install your binaries to "Windows Server 2008 R2 Sp1" on Bing (Preferred for Microsoft Hotfixes). In Result you will get the
list of hotfixes for clusres.dll
You need to try this multiple times in order to get the latest version as Microsoft does not have a single Link.

In ERP system, transaction BOPP (PPMS work center), you can find product/component (version) information, including their PPMS number.
While I didn't find the way to retrieve the component version and other information, given a PPMS number.
Is this possible in BOPP? Or there is other ways to do this?

Just look at your errors log file after you start up the directory server. If you are running Directory Server 6.0 you will find a line that looks like this:
Sun-Java(tm)-System-Directory/6.0 B2007.030.1546 (32-bit) starting up
Depending on the version you have it will show something slightly differently.

There are 2 types of descriptors:
standard and portable deployment descriptors (e.g. ejb-jar.xml, web.xml, application.xml, etc)
vendor specific deployment plan (e.g., sun-ejb-jar.xml, sun-web.xml, sun-application.xml, jboss.xml, weblogic.xml, etc)
When you are developing ejb apps with glassfish, or JavaEE SDK, or Sun Java System Application Server, you usually package all descriptors in META-INF directory inside the jar.
You can also create portable apps that do not contain any vendor specific deployment plans. So you can deploy it to any appserver. At deployment time, you then specify an option to pass the deployment plan to deploy tool. This is required by JSR 88 and all J2EE- or JavaEE-compliant appserver must support this.
In Glassfish, JavaEE SDK, or SJSAS, you can:

I wanted to know the version of seeburger.
We do not have the CD in which the software came in.
I remember that file with name version.txt will have the version details.

I hope this helps....
In IR, we will have seeburger software component versions imported from SLD.
eg: SEEBURGER_GENERIC_EDI 2.0.0 of seeburger.
by seeing this we can guess it is 2.0 version.and if you double click on the split 997(in adapter meta data),you can see all the versions there along with the time stamp.

NOt sure you are on unix or windows...
Try the follwoig commands..
Unix
ident $JAVA_TOP/fndoam.zip | grep Header
The last entry should have something like ...
$Header: fndoam.zip 115.3 2002/04/18 09:41:37 pkm ship
Windows
Right mouse click on fndoam.zip and choose the option 'Open with Winzip'. This will bring up a header window which will show the version.
and map as follow...
version 2.1 ==> fndoam.zip 115.27
version 2.0 ==> lower than 115.27

Does anyone know how to find the latest version of a document in iFS when you don't know the path of the document? I'm using a Selector to search iFS based on a search string for the object's title and am not sure how to find the latest version of the returned documents.

If you can use the Selector to get the public object then you are in good shape. Once you have the public object recast it to a Family. The method getLatestVersion() will return the public object of the latest version.
