What are you trying to do?
If in the Time Machine interface you wish to restore something in your Library, type cmd-shift-g, then type ~/Library into the path field and hit Go.
If you are browsing the Time Machine backup using the Finder, I hope you never wanted to use that backup again as you are more than likely going to corrupt it to the point of it not working any longer. If that is the case, you can do the same thing with the Go to Folder command above, just use the full path to where your backup is mounted. The easy way to find the path would be to open another Finder window and navigate to your home folder on the backup. Drag that home folder to an empty Go to Folder path field and it will fill in the full path, then add /Library on the end.

  • Belkin wireless router connected but browser could not find the host server

my new roommate has a belkin n wireless router connected to a cable modem which functions perfectly on her pc laptop. i am trying to connect my MacBook Pro to the router using her WEP password. this all works fine and my System Preferences/Network/Status shows that AirPort is connected with full strength, but i cannot load any web pages (i have not yet been able to load any pages at all using this router). the page load error reads "Firefox can't find the server at www.cnn.com" and "The browser could not find the host server for the provided address".
I spoke with Belkin support and they say the router is functioning properly, that is a problem with my mac.
When I go to Network Diagnostics, the status shows all green and says "This computer's Internet connection appears to be operating normally. Are you sure you want to use Network Diagnostics?
Could this be a firewall issue? A couple people have suggested that, but I'm not sure how to fix that.
I have tried rebooting the router and cable modem, rebooting the mac, etc.
any ideas on what settings i may need to investigate??
    thank you!

Somewhere in the settings of the router should be the DNS servers that it is using. Since the router is offering via DHCP to do DNS translation for your Mac, it must have useful DNS servers listed.
There are "public" DNS servers. I have no experience with it, but this Web page describes one from Google:
    http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/
Supposedly Google has a DNS server at IP addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 that you might try. Since the DNS server setting on your Mac is grayed out, as a test you might try noting the setting in the "TCP/IP" tab of your AirPort connection item of the Network panel of System Preferences. Then switch from "Using DHCP" to "Manually", fill in the values you just noted, switch to the DNS tab and fill in Google's DNS addresses, and see if things work better.
do you have any other suggestions of where to seek help???
    Perhaps a Belkin discussion group?

  • Server Admin suddenly cannot find the host it runs on

I am running mac osx server, snow leopard. It ran fine until just recently. Suddenly Server App is unable to find the host it runs on.
I enter the hosts IP address on the local network, log in with my administrator username and password, and the system comes back telling me
Could not connect to <ip address>
Server Admin was unable to connect to the server at <~ip address>
Server Preferences tells me that this host cannot be found on the network too.
Point is however that both these apps run on the host with that very IP address. It is set up in System Preferences > Network, and is hardcoded, not given by the DHCP server in the router. I can also connect to the web server running on this host using the laptop and an ipad.
This is quite annoying, especially as Server Admin is the only app that lets you manage the host it runs.

  • How to find the unindexed attributes

    Hi friends,
    We migrated from 5.1sp3 to 5.1 sp4.
After migration i am facing the error unindex search error.
how to find the unindex attributes.

You can compare what is indexed against your complete list of all allowed attributes in your schema. Or cheat and use the console.
To generate a list of all indexed attributes, use ldapsearch:
    ldapsearch -h <host> -p <port> -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w <password> -b "cn=index,cn=userRoot,cn=ldbm database,cn=plugins,cn=config" objectclass=*
Each common name (cn) returned is the name of an indexed attribute. Note this will also return the type of indexes defined, which is handy. You can save this to a text file for future reference.
You can dump your schema using the following search:
    ldapsearch -h <host> -p <port> -b cn=schema objectclass=*
Look for "attributeTypes" entries. Note: there are a lot of system attributes.
You can also login to the Administration Console and under the Configuration tab, expand Data and then select your suffix. In the right hand pane, you will be taken to the Indexes tab by default, here all indexed attributes are listed. Those attributes not indexed can be viewed in a list by clicking the Add attribute... button at the bottom of the screen. You'll be presented with a list of all attributes not currently indexed.

    Yes.
    > And how do i know what the folder it is or how to find

Ask the host what the root directory of the website is named.
    It could be
www, or public_html, or anything else. That would be what
    goes in the host
    directory field.

For your own information, you could try & check with one of the online identify-by-serial-number

    I'd used this one a few times and with a Serial number, it does show a place of manufacture;

fact the model number goes to an older model, too; what I see w/ Model number is not Retina.
•Identify your Mac - Lookup your unit by Apple Serial number, or Model Number:

Not sure if this helps, but assembled in China is usual information on many of those. Some

And if you receive the computer via a parcel delivery company, sometimes their web site or
