How to fit an iplate to a faceplate

Hi, My broadband speed is apprx 1.7 Meg and i heard that fitting an iplate can improve performance considerably in most cases.
the problem is that my faceplate has 2 ports, one is for my phone and the other is from an old (now redundant) business line that was fitted a few years ago.
How do i go about replacing the 2 port cover with just one so that i can fit an iplate to it,
Kind Regards
John

Hi birchgate,
The iPlate or sometimes know as a broadband Accelerator can only fit onto a BTNTE5 master socket with a removable faceplate. However these can sometimes cause more problems. Removing the ring wire or sometimes called bell wire may just do the job.
If you are a BT Retail customer and would like help on improving your broadband connection then please read below:
You will either be on the ADSLMax (upto 8mbps) service or if your exchange has been BTw 21cn upgraded you maybe on the ADSL2/2+ (upto 12/20mbps) service depending on your line quality and length.
However these upto speeds may not be the speeds you will get as ADSL broadband connections are very dependent on the distance from your property to the exchange and the quality of your line. The further away you are from your local exchange the slower your broadband speed will be.
To enable the community to help you please see the advice below:
Please see Keith's help guide here: Helping forum members to help you, it will go through some checks that are needed for us to help you.
A summary of the checks are:
1a) Is your router/Homehub connected by a BT NTE5 master socket, Adsl Filtered Master Socket or Extension Socket?   Please bear in mind that extension cables and extension sockets can reduce the broadband's performance. If you have an Old LJU master socket then please say.
1b) Have you tried the Test Socket? - if you have one.
2) Can you please run a BT speed test (including IP Profile) http://speedtest.btwholesale.com (not beta version)[Best done with a wired, Ethernet, connection] After Quick Test is done you need to click "Further Diagnostics" to get IP Profile.
3) is there any noise on your line. dial 17070 option2 ,called quite line test, from landline phone. should be silent but slight hum normal on cordless phone.
4) please post adsl line statistics
ADSL Line Statistic Help:
If you have a BT Home Hub like the one below...
Then:
 1) Go to http://192.168.1.254 or http://bthomehub.home
 2) click Settings
 3) Click Advanced Settings
 4) Click Broadband
 5) Click Connection or sometimes called ADSL (see picture Below)
The direct Address is http://bthomehub.home/index.cgi?active_page=9116 (for bthomehub3.A firmware ending in 1.3)
or http://bthomehub.home/index.cgi?active_page=9118 (for bthomehub3.A firmware ending in 94.1.11)
You will need to copy and past all the adsl line statistics ( Including HEC, CRC and FEC errors). You may need to click " More Details"

  • How to fit video to DVD-5?

Hi: I have been reading the faqs and forums, and pulling info from a variety of sources, but I am still confussed about how to fit my video to a DVd-5 using Encore. I have previsouly made DVds using Encore 1 & 2.0, so I know the process. But those were smaller projects under 1 hour running time. My current project is approaching 100 minutes for the main feature with small extras, and some basic menus.
I have read that I should be able to fit 110-130 minutes max on a DVD-5. I have also read to realistically expect something closer to 60-75 minutes. Which is it?
My footage is sport oriented so their is movement and & action, lots of transitions, & some composting.
Can someone tell me how do I fit 100 minutes to DVD-5, if that is possible?
I am editing my feature in PPro 1.5. I export 5-10 minute segments as DV AVI files, and then color adjust etc in AE 7.0., which I have been saving as Microsoft DV. I was planning on final assembly of all segments in AE 7.0, & export the whole feature from AE 7.0 as Microsfot DV. But I think this makes my feature file too big and it won;t fit to DVD-5. Is there another codec I should be using for final output to Encore?
What if I assembled in PPro 1.5 and exported to AE for final color. Is there a different codec I should be using to help it fit later on?
Also, I usually leave Encore set to automatic transcode and let it figure whats best. Should I be picking soemthing different?
Thanks and sorry if this has been cover before

  • How to Fit large size image into ScrollingImagepanel

    I am newbie to JAI.
If the size of the image is large then how to fit it into scrolligImagePanel size?
What is the method to be used to fit it?
    Your help is highly appreciated.
    thanks in advance

    Tom,
What version of PrPro are you working with?
Actually, MPEG-2 is not a good format/CODEC to use, as it is both heavily compressed, and is in GOP (Group of Pictures) structure. The version of PrPro, that you have, might well define the best format to use, and maybe even not need to convert.
Unfortunately, the Live version of WMM will only Export to WMV, where the "non-Live," older version, can Export to DV-AVI, though only Type I, and not Type II.
In general, for an SD Project, DV-AVI Type II is as good, as it gets.
The Frame Size of your Project is a bit odd. What prompted you to chose that?
Good luck, and let us know just a bit more.

  • How to fit videos/imges in tilelist without scrollbars

    Hi
How to fit and resize even or uneven no.of videos or images in tilelist without scrollbars.Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Srinivas

    Hi Srinivas38,
You cannot set the VariableRow height for each and every item in the tilelist control. You will have the same height and same width for all the items.
You do have the variableRowHeight property for TileList as like in a List control ..but it doesn't work...The tilelist control just ignores the property.
So if you want to fit your images/videos in  a TileList without scroll bars then you need to set the maximum height and width for each item which will remian the same for all the items in TileList.
Set the verticalScrollPolicy and horizontalScrollPolicy to off for the item(which may be an itemRenderer file you may be using).
    Thanks,

  • How to fit the footer always to bottom page

How to fit the footer always to bottom page.
    Regards

Well, this is relatively simple. There are blue lines on your page with little blue squared arrows on each side. Hover your mouse over them to find out which ones define "Bottom of Page" and "Footer" (you will also see some towards the top of the page for Header). Adjust these so that the "Bottom of Page" line is quite literally the bottom of the page and move the footer one higher about 2 inches or so, depending on how big you want your footer to be. This automatically will define a footer to stay consistantly on the bottom of your page(s) throughout the site even when expanding or shrinking window sizes. Just another great feature of Adobe Muse

HOW TO FIT PAGE TO SCREEN?

S-Video is Standard Definition Video only, and assuming you and your TV are in NTSC land, that is a maximum of 720x480 pixels.  Pretty small/low resolution.  You need to use a different input to your TV, like VGA (or "PC" as it is sometimes referred to on TVs) - i.e. a blue multipin connector with 3 rows of 5 pins each row?
... or get an HD TV, or a proper computer monitor.

  • Solution Manager - NWA & CEN - How they fit in ?

    Hi,
I have been working with XI and have come across the central monitoring system CEN and the netweaver administrator (NWA) tools.
Does anyone know how they fit into Solution Manager. Especially why you have solution Manager Diagnostics and NWA....are they not the same thing?
Currently it looks like we'll have an XI landscape being monitored by CEN & NWA and then the same landscape also being monitored by solution manager. This seems like a double up of work to me.
    Thanks
    Jim

    Hi Pascal,
    Thank for that...
Would i be right in saying then that CEN is part of solution manager 4.0 i.e comes with webas 640/700 anyway ??
So for a "perfect/easy" support environment you would have sol man 4.0 managing all your abap components from both a read/write point of view and then sol man managing j2ee area on a read only basis while NWA administering your j2ee's on a read/write basis.
And ideally have all these components looking at the same SLD.
    Hope above make sense
    Cheers

  • Please can someone help, I have a question in my coursework that I don't know the answer to! Explain how PostScript fits into the design process?

Please can someone help, I have a question in my coursework that I don't know the answer to! Explain how PostScript fits into the design process?

The simple answer is that today PostScript really doesn't fit at all into the Graphic Design process, at least in terms of what the graphic designer needs to know.
Historically, though, the PostScript imaging model, first introduced circa 1984 provided the basis for the initial publishing software including PageMaker, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, and even Ventura Publisher. This imaging model included support for continuously scalable text, vector, and raster imagery as well as the concepts of a current transformation matrix that allowed arbitrary scaling, rotation, etc. and multiple color spaces (grayscale, RGB, CMYK, spot, device independent, and color-managed).
The PostScript imaging model was effectively replaced by the PDF imaging model, a significant superset of the PostScript imaging model, by the time Illustrator 9 and InDesign 2 were released in terms of support of ICC color management, transparency, etc.
The fact is that a good graphic designed doesn't need to know anything about PostScript or PDF per sé, but rather about the basics of color (such as issues associated with color gamut and what how that affects display and printing), use of text versus vector versus raster images and why one should keep content at the highest level of abstraction all the way to the rendering (or screen) or RIP process for printing. Some knowledge of typography also helps.

  • How to FIT media on DVD--time vs, compresion ratio.

I have a huge wedding video that is gonna end up being 2+ hours.
my part1 rendered out a QT at 9g........no wonder it kept stopping from burning a DVD.
So how to we choose what format [MPEG 4 - AVI - QT] etc. ????
i tried an MPEG4 just guessing and it rendered at 190mb but is very grainy.....Hey if they can put a 2 hour blockbuster on a DVD and make it look good......what codec or convertion trick are they using ?
    thanks

Sorry i didn't respond sooner and thankyou to all 3 of you for your time and help.........apperantly
.......[ i DVD 2 ] was opening as default when i put a disc in and it wouldn't fit my mamouth 3 hour wedding video onto it (thats alot of footage to try to make look professional the whole time)......anyway, i did find version '3' and that seem to fit both parts........so as a novice in authoring am i to assume that iDVD trys to squeeze a much as it can ?????
but how did IT know until i imported the 2nd 2 hour part how much to compress thus fit all 3 hours ?
the avearge full leangth movie is usually 2+ hours w/ extras.......what type of comp do they use on commercial DVDs ?
Thus far i have used iDVD cuz i just worked w/o any fuss........i tried to understand the 'Compression' app as well a Studio Pro and whoooey........of course i just scanned the directions and tried to make it work which does work w/ some apps, but as an 'artist' if i can say, its difficult to learn all this 'other' stuff so i guess im asking what app should invest my time with if my main concern is just getting it to 'fit' and look and sound good >>>?????
what is the most 'time' you can fit on 4.7g DVD and look as good as commercial comprssed movies ?
this is a good question i think....not all of one video project has to have the same quality, in some footage, close-ups and special moments, stills, i would want to look their best, but random shots (filler) the quality doesn't have to be so tight............is there a way to change comp thru 1 DVD project ?
I will read the links you all offered, but if you have any suggestions on apps that are easy to learn and work with but still can make a DVD its best please let me know.
again thanks for takin the time.

  • How to fit greenscreen in imovie '09

    Hi!
i am using imovie '09. i'm trying to use the greenscreen function and everything works well except for 1 thing.
So there is a small greenscreen in the screen that i am filming. but i want to adjust the size of the video that is playing on the greenscreen. because the picture you are seeing now is only a small part of the original footage (the footage in the greenscreen is the same size as the footage containing the guy. it is only showing the footage there where the green screen is.. Does anyone know how to resize is to excactly fit the greenscreen window?

If you just want a title hanging in mid-air, I would just drag the Centered title over the entire project (the entire clip will turn blue to show where the title is). Highlight the text to change it, then click on *Show Fonts* where you can change the color. Choose a light gray and it will look like a watermark.
Another way to do this is to import a still image over your entire project and set the opacity to low, which gives a watermark or ghost effect.

  • How to fit part of video in custom selection

Ok let me brightly explain what I want to do. So lets say I have a 720p or 480p video and i want to cut out a few seconds of it and fit in selected area 320x480 without deforming sizes.
Here's a picture of what im imgainating: (you tell me if this is possible)
Red selection is my 320x480 and background is our video. The point is to capture the walking couple into that selection while keeping its orginal size (no reforming - longer legs etc.)
What im trying to say that our target is always bigger or sometimes smaller and its ?impossible? to fit it in whatever size we want without deforming.
Im trying to make a perfect loop animations that can be used as live wallpapers on android but its not looking good when faces are squished etc. Exporting normal size video and croping every single layer is uneffective pain in ***.
Please help me im total begginer in AAE or Premiere.

I Honestly have no idea what you are talking about. how would anyone be able to force fit something into a predefined are without defirmations if the aspect ratio doesn't match that of the original image section? You are looking for something that is simply in a technical sense impossible. Beyond that - seriously simply learn to use the tools before complaining about them.

  • How to fit frame to content when content contains anchored text box?

    Hi there
I am creating a series of inline text frames within a text frame. Each of these inline frames contains text which includes an anchored text frame. If I tell my inline frames to fit to content they seem to ignore the anchored frames contained therein. Is there any way I can get them to consider the anchored frames they contain when they fit to content?
I tried checking the geometric bounds of my anchored frame before and after its parent frame has fitted to content. Even when there has been no change in position the bounds after fitting to content seem to give numbers way off. I thought I might be able to reset the geometric bounds of the containing frame manually if the anchored frame therein had moved with the fit frame to content.
Here is a snippet of my code:
    var anchoredBounds = anchoredFrame.geometricBounds;
    mainFrame.fit(FitOptions.FRAME_TO_CONTENT);
    mainFrame.texts.item(0).recompose;
    var newAnchoredBounds = anchoredFrame.geometricBounds;
    alert(anchoredBounds[0] + "; " + newAnchoredBounds[0]);
So “mainFrame” is the text frame containing text and the anchored frame, “anchoredFrame”. “anchoredBounds[0]” seems to correlate with the top edge of the frame when I check it manually after the script has finished (when it hasn’t move with the fit to content). “newAnchorBounds[0]”, however, always gives numbers that are way off every time. Any ideas why this would be the case?
And most importantly, can anyone suggest how I can get my “mainFrame” to consider the “anchoredFrame” contained in it when it fits to content?
I’m using CS4 on a PC. Let me know if it would help to post more code, or if I haven’t explained myself clearly enough.

Is there any way I can get them to consider the anchored frames they contain when they fit to content?
@Graham – as long as ALL the anchored text frames are "inline" text frames,
    mainFrame.fit(FitOptions.FRAME_TO_CONTENT);
should work as expected or at least sort of *.
    Without calculating anything at all.
Just tested in InDesign CS5.5 (v7.5.3).
Could it be that CS4 will fail on that?
Of course, you can only rely on this, if the main text frame contains any "real" text at all. Not only the  special characters representations of the "inline" text frames. In that case the fit() method will do nothing at all.
    * it's debatable, if the fit() method yields desirable output.
    It depends on your expectations.
    See the following examples:
    1. Case 1:
    Text frame before fitting:
    2. Case 1:
After fitting with the UI command, context menu: "fit frame to contents"
(note the gap between the last baseline of the text and the text frame; note also  the new width)
Is that the result you would expect? I guess not.
    3. Case 1:
    After fitting  programmatically with myTextframe.fit(FitOptions.FRAME_TO_CONTENT);
    4. Case 2:
    Before fitting
same text frame as in #1, but different height
    5. Case 2:
After fitting with the UI command, context menu: "fit frame to contents"
A different width than in #2 and a gap at the bottom of the text frame!
Not the desired result, I'd say…
    6. Case 2:
    After fitting  programmatically with myTextframe.fit(FitOptions.FRAME_TO_CONTENT);
    Same result as in #3
So with scripting we could, at least, get consistent results.
Of course, you could get the same results in the UI, if you double-click on the bottom center control point…
Maybe it helps, if you are showing us some screen grabs:
    1. Your starting point
    2. The desired result
    Uwe
