How to fix a ipod touch that is disabled
My Ipod touch says that its disabled and I don't know how to fix it. Does anyone know how to fix it?
If you have a passcode to the screen lock that you've forgotten, restore the iPod from the computer to which the iPod is synced. For information and instructions, see:

If that will not work, you'll need to put the iPod into Recovery Mode and then try the Restore again:

I have a 3rd generation iPod touch 32gb and it will not turn off, nor will it charge. Plugging in to my computer, iTunes does not even detected. Even if I leave it to charge, it does not detect it. The odd thing is that it get really hot in the lower back area of the iPod. It is hot to the touch, as though it were 80 degrees+. Anyway for me to fix this?
The iPod is way out of warrenty, so I wonder if a Genius bar appointment will even help me. But I will give them a try.Replace the battery. If that does not work, then system board is toasted...

So I had it on the counter in the kitchen and of course it got covered in garlic butter and now the screen looks glittery and is very dim. I have had it in some rice for some time now and it seems to be helping with the garlic butter but not with the dimness as much. Purchase a bottle or a few packs of iKlear Apple Polish, and clean the surface of your Touch with a microfiber cloth. The good news is that the assembly of the Touch is quite tight. Prophyactially, I might suggest investing in a Zagg skin. They've had a sale recently, and offers full-body protection against grease, or even nicking and scratching. And butter. -

Try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod
if still problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -

If the sleep/wake button doesn't work use the home button and if the home button doesn't work it's the other way around, however if both of them don't work charge it with your connector connected with your computer or wall socket and it will turn on. Hope this helps.

I was gave an Apple iPod Touch that was disabled and I called the Apple store and they emailed me how to fix it but now when i plug it up to the PC it's saying that the iPod is unable to be recognized and I don't know what to do?

The music files, were they bought from your iTunes account or did someone gift them to you after buying from the iTunes account? If they are yours you can download them again if you clear or de-authorise the ipod, it has to be done by whoever gave you the ipod to do this (the registered owner). If they were bought for you on another itunes account I don't think Apple let you use them as they are copyrighted and they don't belong to you, they belong to the person who bought them. If the music files where ripped from music cd's then click and drag them to a new folder on your desktop and have the person who gave you the ipod to de-authorise and unregister it. Then you re register it and put your files back from your desktop folder in your iTunes folder and synch. Hopefully that would work. Any files which you did not buy, I would not know how get around this, best bet is to take it to you nearest Apple Store and explain that they were gifted to you and ask how you can use them. The best way to gift music files is to buy the gift tokens and give these. Hope above helps. -

Find My iPod wouldn't help you find your iPod in your house even if it were available. Find My iPod would only locate the WiFi router, not the iPod itself. If you have some sort of service on the iPod that makes a noise when a message arrives, such as email, a messaging app, etc. you can try sending a message to yourself and see if perhaps the arrival sound helps you locate the iPod.
Otherwise you will just have to look for it.
