Are you using the original USB docking cable (with mini-dock) to connect the shuffle to USB?
When you connect it to USB, does the shuffle's light come ON in any way?  If so, what does it do?

  • How to fix a ipod touch that is disabled

My Ipod touch says that its disabled and I don't know how to fix it.  Does anyone know how to fix it?

If you have a passcode to the screen lock that you've forgotten, restore the iPod from the computer to which the iPod is synced. For information and instructions, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
If that will not work, you'll need to put the iPod into Recovery Mode and then try the Restore again:

  • How to disable an ipod touch that won't connect to itunes or the computer

I recently got an ipod touch that was reset before being given to me. It wouldn't connect to iTunes or the computer but would still charge in the USB port. I updated iTunes and tried doing a soft reset holding down home and sleep. Then I realized on the screen that says "connect to iTunes", on the top right it would say "iPod" and in the middle it would show a little lock symbol. I was told this ment it was disabled and that's why it wouldn't work. But how would I restore it or reset it if I cannot get passed the connect to itunes screen and it wont connect to the computer. PLEASE HELP

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

  • IPod shuffle 4G won't turn on

My iPod shuffle 4G is shown when it's connected with my Mac but will not turn on, and won.t charge if it's connected to an adapter. What can I do? I'm leaving the country next week, can I fix it in another country's apple store even I bought it in U.S.? It was purchased this August, should have no special problems.

    Hi,
Plug it into iTunes and then Restore it. This will take everything off your device. Then it will put everything back on. Tell me if this works.

  • How to fix Boot Camp partition that won't boot

Soooo...coming new to this thread, after reading of it on NERDR.COM.
Have new iMac 27" and have been TRYING to load and use Win 8.1 Enterprise (MSDN) on BootCamp in Mavericks 10.9.3.
Could not even get setup to load until after I removed my three external G-Drives, finally got it to load, and actually got Windows pretty much configured and activated, and loaded Office 2013 and VISIO. But, I have an increasing number of BSOD (I assume it is) issues with kernel_security_check_failure which stop the computer, nothing works, and I have to power off.  This has caused drive issues, and while I've been repairing them, I can no longer boot into Windows.  Tried repairing that with the original Win 8.1 DVD, but, Automatic Repair can't fix, and I was unsure if using BootRec was a good idea?
So ran the three SUDO commands on my Drive 0, and here are the results (had to paste a screen shot, as, SOMETHING in the middle (blue) text won't allow me to post it):
Question is, should I go ahead and use the gdisk utility to repair things, or...something else?
And...if there is some kind of issue with using Boot Camp when you have external drives attached, what can be done to get around that?
    Thanks!

The fdisk output shows that it is a single GPT disk. Has any disk manipulation been done, like resizing or repartitioning.
Your GPT looks correct. If you create a Hybrid MBR via gdisk and include partitions 2,3 and 4 and make 4 bootable, does Windows partition show up in Startup and as a separate volume in Finder?
Please see https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5641066 for Hybrid MBR creation.

  • How to fix a song glitch that won't play?

I'll try to keep this as brief as possible. I had to restore a backup because I accidentally deleted some photos. Ever since then my most recent iPod purchases will either not play or skip themselves whenever I try to play them. Long story short most of the content in my iTunes library are cd downloads, which I won't have access to for awhile, so for the time being the only songs I can re download are the ones purchased directly from iTunes. Is there a way to fix the download without the use of my computer and potentially erasing the rest of my library?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup, yes try again. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • How to fix an iPod touch that does not charge but gets hot in the lower back area?

I have a 3rd generation iPod touch 32gb and it will not turn off, nor will it charge. Plugging in to my computer, iTunes does not even detected. Even if I leave it to charge, it does not detect it. The odd thing is that it get really hot in the lower back area of the iPod. It is hot to the touch, as though it were 80 degrees+. Anyway for me to fix this?
The iPod is way out of warrenty, so I wonder if a Genius bar appointment will even help me. But I will give them a try.

Replace the battery.  If that does not work, then system board is toasted...

  • Please Help! How to fix my ipod touch that got covered in garlic butter?

So I had it on the counter in the kitchen and of course it got covered in garlic butter and now the screen looks glittery and is very dim. I have had it in some rice for some time now and it seems to be helping with the garlic butter but not with the dimness as much. I would appreciate any help you give me because I do not feel like buying a new ipod touch. Thanks!

Purchase a bottle or a few packs of iKlear Apple Polish, and clean the surface of your Touch with a microfiber cloth. The good news is that the assembly of the Touch is quite tight. If you fear there may be a problem with greasy liquids seeping inside, I'd strongly suggest having a specialist clean it securely. http://www.ipodjuice.com/apple-ipod-touch-repair.htm#ipod-touch-repair
Prophyactially, I might suggest investing in a Zagg skin. They've had a sale recently, and offers full-body protection against grease, or even nicking and scratching. And butter.

it only turns on when chargeing, and it looks like it has no back light on. when not charging, nothing at all. does not even respond to restart. any suggestion?

If it's been immersed in water you're probably looking at writing it off, but if it's powering up when plugged in then it may just be salvageable with a new battery.  Take it into an Apple store and have them look at it, but don't get your hopes up!

  • Fix for wireless keyboard that won't turn on

I replaced my batteries after the low warning.  It wouldn't turn on.  Looking into the battery compartment, I saw that the bottom didn't appear like that on my wife's keyboard.  Mine was like looking down on a cup with a shiny button in the middle.  My wife's had the shiny button, but the plastic wasn't cupped.  I used a wooden dowel to loosen mine, removed it, replaced the batteries, and it worked!  Then I replaced the plastic so that the cupped side went in first.  Again replaced the batteries, and I'm using it right now.  The piece is designed to keep the keyboard contact centered for the battery.
Apparently, changing the batteries can result in the plastic piece getting turned around.  The cupped area prevents the positive battery contact from contacting the shiny button at the bottom.  It appears to be a design flaw.  My wife's keyboard is much younger than mine, so it seems that they are still being produced like that.  Be careful when you remove the batteries!
    YMMV
    Bill

Did you ever back up your phone using iTunes on your computer?
If you can use iTunes on your computer but don't have your device:
Go to iTunes > Preferences (Mac) or Edit > Preferences (PC).
    Click the Devices tab.
Hold your mouse over a backup to display the serial number for that device. You'll also see the IMEI/MEID and CDN for your iPhone or iPad (cellular model).
