How to fix aux port on cdx-gt250mp car stereo.

everything else works, but aux port quit working.  after clicking select button until AUX appears on screen, it then immediately says "FRONT IN" and then goes blank

Hello serenajohnson
Welcome to Sony Community.
Ensure that a straight type plug has been used.
After "FRONT IN" appears, start playing back the portable audio device.
Try connecting a different device to the AUX IN jack of the Car Stereo.
If the same issue persists with a different portable audio device, then the Car Stereo will require service.

  • How to disable AUX port in ASR 9010

    Hi All,
How to disable the AUX port in ASR 9010. Inside "line aux" I can't configure anything except "login authentication" (which is used for aaa authentication).
Also after IOS XR 3.2 the configuration for AUX port has been removed
    Platform used: ASR 9010
    Version: IOS-XR 4.1.2
    Best Regards
    Saikat Chakraborty

    Hi Saikat,
AUX has the same authentication method as we have on the system.  From this perspective, AUX is protected the same way as the Console port and only those who have an account can login via AUX (same way as via console). Any attempts to log on AUX will be logged:
    Successful:
ksh[65902]: Successfully authenticated user 'XXX' for ksh access via 'aux' on '0/RSP0/CPU0'
    Incorrect:
ksh[65902]: Failed authentication attempt by user 'YYY' for ksh access via 'aux' on '0/RSP0/CPU0
But if anyone has a physical access to the device, that would be even bigger threat compare to system protected AUX login.
BTW, tacacs authentication should work for AUX too. We’d need to define a template for it.
    Example:
aaa authentication login tacacs_template group tacacs+ local
    line template aux
          login authentication tacacs_template

  • How to fix magsafe port Macbook Pro early 2011

For a while I struggled to charge my Macbook Pro, so I decided to buy a new charger. It worked fine for a couple weeks but now it has started to do the same thing. I have to spend like maybe 3-4 min wiggling the charger until it finally starts, and then I  have to keep it perfectly still for it to charge. Recently my macbook stopped charging completely. The magsafe port looks very burned (its kind of black). Also the area around the magsafe port is always HOT, even before the charging issues. How can fix this issue? Is this common for Macbook Pro early 2011 13" ? I don't have apple coverage at this time.

  • How do I play my iphone through my car stereo

I want to play my Iphone 4S through my car Vauxhall Corsa stereo. There's no socket on the car stereo. Do I need to buy some hardware?

The aux input works great if you don't need to control the iPod from the radio, I connect it this way routinely and have a separate charger when needed. The OP, however does not have an aux port.
Using earbuds or headphones is illegal in most states and I know a few that have been ticketed for impaired/reckless driving. Get into an accident wearing them and you could open yourself up to lawsuits because its considered impaired hearing. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. You can't fight the impaired hearing thing, don't even think about it. Claim to be senile and they'll pull your license right there and you will be walking for awhile.
    Drive safe.

  • How do I send contact information to a car stereo?

I purchased a new Sony Car Stereo with hands free phone capability using Bluetooth  To use the preset buttons for contacts the instructions say to send the contact data to the car stereo by operating your cellphone.
I don 't know what to do.  How do I do this?  I tried making the call, thinking the number would then be stored in the "Preset".  WRONG.

  • How to listen to iphone ipod through my car stereo?

Before the iphone, I had the ipod shuffle. I used the connector with the shuffle to my aux power plug-in and it worked great. This same connector fits the iphone but no music comes through the speakers? I sometimes get loud "cracks" like something is trying to connect and I've also gotten muffled sounds coming through. The connector I bought is an apple connector and iphone compatible. I tried turning on airport mode and that didn't do anything either. Do I need some other kind of connector? Why wouldn't apple make one connector to fit all their ipods? Very frustrating as I can't listen to my music on my phone while I'm driving.

Yet another thing to think about --
Your iPod or your Shuffle connects directly to your FM interface and plays.
The iPhone and the Touch don't connect directly to your FM -- they require an intermediary interface to "read" the program from the iPhone or Touch...in essence, it disables your iPhone or Touch while connecting to your FM auxilliary-in...in order to listen you need a program in-between that will allow you to change your music and listen, because your handheld iPhone/Touch becomes inopperable while it is hooked up to your FM interface.
Just a thought. I stuck with an FM transmitter when I found that I would be unable to use the direct cable interface with my Ford mach 300 stereo without yet another display interface on my dashboard...no thanks, already have my satellite radio interface there, no need for yet another one.

  • Fixed the port numbers

    Hello All,
My OS is SLES 8 (SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8)
Currenly my system randomly using different port numbers when I used FTP utility.
How to fixed the port numbers for FTP?
I want to use only port 20 & 21 for FTP.
    Regards,
    Dawar

I am seeing the same behavior as mentioned by mr.p-funk.
I am setting IgnoreHWSerNumXXXXYYYY = 1 in the Registry for a specific printer model (VID=XXXX, PID=YYYY).
When each printer of the SAME model is connected to the same USB2.0 port, the "ignore serial number" works as expected,
(i.e. multiple printers of the SAME model can be connected to the SAME physical USB port on the PC without creating a different "print queue".)
However, when connecting the 2 printers to a USB3.0 port, it does NOT work. Instead, it behaves as though IgnoreHWSerNumXXXXYYYY
in Registry is set to 0 instead of 1. (i.e. each printer of the SAME model gets a NEW print queue when connected to the SAME USB port on the PC.)
I work for a printer manufacturer, and being able to "Ignore the USB Serial Number" is something we use with customers quite often.
So, if there is a way to make this work when the printer is connected to a USB3.0 port on the PC, we need to know about it.
Sorry Alex Zhaozx, but Kate Li's response is NOT the answer to the question. She only describes the behavior a user will see when this Registry setting (=1) is working correctly,
i.e. with a USB2 port. We are asking about HOW to make it work with a physical USB3.0 port on the PC.

  • HT2693 My car stereo is holding a playlist that no longer exists. How do I get rid of it?

I removed some playlists on my iPhone to streamline how many playlists I do have, but my car stereo still shows those old playlists. I am not sure if it is a car issue or a phone issue. I reset the car stereo, but that didn't do anything.

If you are signed into your current iCloud ID you shouldn't be prompted for the old ID unless there is another service still signed into it.  Check the ID in iMessage (Settings>Messages>Send & Receive), FaceTime (Settings>FaceTime), Game Center (Settings>Game Center), the iTunes store (Settings>iTunes & App Store), etc. to make sure you aren't still signed in with the old ID.  If you are, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with the new ID.

When I connect my Mac Mini 2011 with Lion to a TV via HDMI and an earphone cable is plugged in, it´s not possible to choose sound out via hdmi, as opposed to connection via the minidisplay port. Anybody knows how to fix this?

Was just on the phone with Apple about this.
The solution was as follows for me anyway...
    Go to your Finder
    Choose the Go Menu
    Choose Computer
    Choose your Macintosh Hard Drive
    Choose your "Library" Folder
    Choose the "Preferences" Folder
There should be a folder called "Audio"
Move that whole folder to the trash
    Empty the Trash
    Restart from the Apple Menu
    When you are back up and running;
Choose System Preferences from the Apple Menu
         Choose Sound
In the output tab you should now be able to make the HDMI "Sticky"
Enjoy your sound over HDMI and no more dirty knees or broken backs unplugging the desktop speakers!

  • My iPod touch 4th gen iOS5.1.1 can't be recognised by my computer and I have tried different cables and usb ports but nothing has worked. The iPod is brand new and was only opened today. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have just today recieved a brand new iPod Touch 4th generation iPod with the latest update. Everything else on the ipod is working and my computer is able to read the camera fine, but iTunes cannot recognise it - even after restarting and trying different USB ports and cables.  There is nothing at all coming up on the device list and iTunes is working as it would if I had no iPod plugged in. This is my first iPod on this computer and I have already tried redownloading iTunes. My computer is a windows XP computer. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this problem?

Since this is an XP machine, which version of iTunes do you have installed?  Is it the latest version?
Have you tried starting iTunes, attach the USB end of the cable, then while holding the home button on the iPod connect the 30-pin connector end of the cable to the iPod...that is the recovery mode but also should make iTunes see the iPod.
If that doesn't work you may need to take the iPod back and have it tested by the genius bar techs to make sure the connector is not bad.

  • How do I open ports on my airport extreme and assign a fixed IP Address for a device connected to my network?

I recently had a security system installed in my house.  One of the features is an EPAD which enables me to have a virtual keypad on my iphone, and computer to operate the alarm system.  The technician was not familiar with Mac's and Airports.  How do I open port 80 to 80 in my airport and assign a fixed IP address for the EPAD?  Apparently this is what is needed to make this work.

There are three ranges of "strictly local" IP addresses reserved for local Network use:
    192.168.xxx.yyy
    172.16.xxx.yyy
    10.xxx.yyy.zzz
What your Router does for you is to act as your agent on the Internet.Your requests are packaged up and forwarded on your behalf, and only when a response is expected is the response returned to your local IP address.
Directing Network Traffic to a Specific Computer on Your
    Network (Port Mapping)
AirPort Extreme uses Network Address Translation (NAT) to share a single IP address with the computers that join the AirPort Extreme network. To provide Internet access to several computers with one IP address, NAT assigns private IP addresses to each computer on the AirPort Extreme network, and then matches these addresses with port numbers. The wireless device creates a port-to-private IP address table entry when a computer on your AirPort (private) network sends a request for information to the Internet.
If you’re using a web, AppleShare, or FTP server on your AirPort Extreme network, other computers initiate communication with your server. Because the Apple wireless device has no table entries for these requests, it has no way of directing the information to the appropriate computer on your AirPort network.
To ensure that requests are properly routed to your web, AppleShare, or FTP server, you need to establish a permanent IP address for your server and provide inbound port mapping information to your Apple wireless device.
To set up inbound port mapping:
    1) Open AirPort Utility, select your wireless device, and then choose Base Station > Manual Setup, or double-click the device icon to open its configuration in a separate window. Enter the password if necessary.
    2) Click the Advanced button, and then click Port Mapping.
    3) Click the Add button and choose a service, such as Personal File Sharing, from the Service pop-up menu.

  • Each time I connect to my IBM computer it crashes with blue screen error message pops up. Apple say that it's my printer/camera drivers. The problem is with iTunes, it likes to play with all the ports on my comp and conflicts with prnt drivers. How to fix

Does anyone know how to fix this problem without disabling my printer. It's very frustrating. It's either I have my iPad or my printer. iTunes likes to play with the ports on my computer thereby causing a conflict with my printer drivers. Apple should fix this problem, I'm so annoyed.

When this problem first happened, I searched for threads and found a few.  See be;ow links:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1502
Apple say that its a driver problem, but I've never had this problem before so I am not convinced. Another thread, which I can't seem to find, suggests that it is an apple problem - itunes plays with the ports on the company causing conflicts with existing drivers. I isolated the conflict to my new Samsung printer. I uninstalled the Samsung printer driver and then can successfully connect my ipad without the blue screen appearing.
It's not a windows problem. Windows is working fine. Only happens when Ipad is connected. Actually, this first happened after I installed the new version of itunes. I reget installing the new itunes version, but don't know how to reinstall the previous itunes version.
