Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I had the same problem for days. I reset the phone bu holding down the home button and the on off switch together. Don't swipe to turn off. Just hold down the two buttons until phone switched off then wait a few seconds and switch it back on. I can't also use Facebook on safari which I was also having problems with. Hope it helps

Lion Server - Connecting to Server Failure

I originally had an issue with Profile Manager displaying "Error connecting to server". I then ran App Cleaner to remove it, and now lion server is stuck in a loop displaying Connecting to server at the bottem. It also doesn't display any hardware connected. Any ideas on how to fix? I did this years ago but I don't remember the address I used. CMD/K opens the dialog box. My computer I want to connect is behind a modem and a router. What do I type in the for address? There is more than one computer on my home network. All hard drives have unique names. I have a DNS Alias IP address.

I'm going to assume you're connecting remotely into your own network, and make some guesses, and hopefully help you recall how your network was set up.
What you enter depends on what access you've opened up into your network.
You can certainly try all the protocols you've listed. ftp, http, and the rest. (Well, not ftp. Avoid ftp. ftp is a pile of gnarly problems, and one of the best ways to make sure that anybody monitoring your network connections from the coffee shop will know your login credentials.   On a good day — one where your password and user aren't compromised — you'll still have to battle with getting the emphemeral port range working and open on either the client end or the server end, and through all of the intervening firewalls.   As should be obvious, I'm not a particular fan of ftp. Given a choice, I'd use sftp, or maybe ftp via a VPN.)
If your NAT device is correctly configured and at (more or less) its default settings, then absolutely everything you try for your remote access will be blocked.
Everything should be blocked, too, as you really don't want more than absolutely necessary open, as there are more than a few folks that would look to access your server.   The folks attempting remote access will generally find and try any open port, too. Even an open port associated with a relatively secure protocol can still have vulnerabilities, whether it's a protocol weakness that somebody discovers, or a weak password.
Now if you want to enable remote access of file services or such, then your NAT box will need to have TCP port 548 (AFP) configured and opened through, or whatever ports for whatever other service you want.
Beyond being insecure, ftp is a pain in the rump to open, as you either need a device that sniffs the traffic and opens the ports necessary, or that triggers on a connection, or you'll need to have the whole of the ephemeral port range open.
More appropriate for various remote-access contexts would be a VPN, either established via what's known as NAT pass-through (mapping the VPN ports through your NAT box to your OS X Server, and configuring the VPN server on your OS X Server box), or via VPN established directly into whatever gateway box you're using, if your gateway is mid-grade or more expensive box and has an integrated VPN server.   Not all of the NAT boxes have VPN support.
If you're in the Finder Connect To Server prompting:
If AFP (TCP port 548) is already open, then afp://youraddress
If CIFS/SMB (TCP port 445) is open, then smb://youraddress
But only somebody that's scanned your network or set up your network will know your configuration and which ports to use, both because of the NAT settings as well as any firewall you might be running on the server — OS X Server 10.6 could and variously did have the firewall service configured and running.
If you want to see what ports are already open, there are various remote services that offer that test. For instance, log into the server and use your web browser there to connect to GRC and run their Shields Up test; you'll need to run that port scan from within your network.   That'll tell you which ports are open through into your system.

How do I connect to server after an upgrade?

I connected to my computer/windows & downloaded iOS 7.1.1 software for my 4S yesterday, but didn't upgrade.
Now, when I go to upgrade phone, it reads 'not available' because phone cannot connect to server. How do you resolve "connection to server has failed" when you access your email.

Quit the mail app completely and reboot the iPad.
From yoyr home screen - Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the mail app. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Launch mail again and see of you can access your email.
If that doesn't work, turn mail off, restart your iPad, turn mail on again and try again. Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Mail>Off. After you restart the iPad, follow that route back to turn mail on again.

System setting connection to server failure

When I try to get new plasma themes, windows decorations etc. through system settings I get an error:

And I think my internet connection is working well.

I found this bug report, which seemed like it might be the problem. GetHotNewStuff started working after I visited that page. I didn't do anything, or change anything, but it started working. Computers are nuts sometimes.
edit: Also, I just changed my fstab and GRUB menu list from using device nodes to UUIDs... although that doesn't seem even a little bit related.
edit 2: And now it's back, after I changed nothing. Any ideas?

How to fix "Email address lookup" failure

Here is a weird one...
I have created a new nickname object which has three email addresses.
They all list OK under "View Email Addresses"
However when testing, GWIA reported "no such user". !!
After double checking the "View Email Addresses" screen for typo's, I did a Tools | Utilities | Email Address Lookup and it fails on the address, but the other two addresses for this nickname object are found OK.
So I deleted the nickname object and recreated it, but it still the 3rd email address can't be found.
Does anyone know why this is the case? Or better yet how to fix this?

I have synchonised the user object, and strange thing is that the nickname addresses actually appear in the user object under the "View Email Addresses" list, in the "Nickname Email Addresses" section. So the user object looks correct.
I guess that when the Email Address Lookup utility searches as does GWIA, it accesses an address list and not by actually looking at each individual user object's address list. So I just have to figure out why just one of the three nickname email addresses are not making it to this "Email Address Lookup" list.
I might look into doing a PO rebuild, unless there are any other less drastic ideas.

Snow leopard server. I've trashed managed prefs, trashed the keychain and recreated, but when the client

I'm thinking next it might be a plist acting up somewhere

I performed all five steps, & the issue still persists.
On another machine in this same lab, with the same issue,
to rule out accounts, I went to that machine and erased all accounts,
and created a new Admin account.
Logged in as that user, and the issue still occurs:
When trying login to the server via afp at afp://fqdn
it tries to "auto login" into a share with credentials it no longer has
(you cannot login to the share 'xxxx' because you do not have privileges to do so)
What it needs to do is present the proper login screen, so that new credentials
( name and password) can be entered to access the new share.
that window never comes up; it isntead tries to "auto login" with credentials
it stored SOMEWHERE, for an old share.
At this point, I'm going to try re-installing the system folder ( w/ Archive and Install)
as I've ruled out it's not in a user account that is causing the issue, but the system itself,
as by my new test above.

How do you fix a "Connection Failed" error when trying to connect to my iMac? My iMac can see the MacBook Pro just fine but when I try to connect the Pro to the iMac I get a "Connection Failed" error. Clicking on "Connect As" gives me the option to select "Guest", "Registered User", or "Using an Apple ID" -- none of which will work. Can anyone help?

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Login issues in SAP B1 (Connection License Server failure)

Before I begin, I must appologize for the term ASAP which I thought I edited but did not update. I actually found a solution on my own when I decided to uninstall and resinstall again from scratch. In the control Panen when I was begining the Process I thought of selecting repair on the Server Tools, then after that everything went back normal, I am not getting the issue any longer.
The description of the issue:
I was unable to login to SAP 8.8 due to error u201CConnection to the License server failed" and I tried to use License manger as a starting point of troubleshooting but when click on settings, I get u201C Failed to connect to License Server,u201D I click ok and was trying to import again the License key file but I could not because the button was always disabled and no Hardware key was displayed which was not right.

How to fix windows 7 startup failure? Windows startup repair cannot help

Recently, my laptop have problem with the startup and unfortunately it is showing crash dump error as well.
This is the error mesage for startup issues: c000021a fatal system error, intial session process or system process terminate
and this is error message for crash dump: STOP: 0x0000000A (0xFFFFF80003BEDE60, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000008, 0xFFFFF80003BEDE60)
So, when i start my laptop it comes up with the startup c000021a fatal system error. I tried to go to startup repair and chose the "Last Known Good Configuration (advanced)" after that it shown system crash dump error message.
Unfortunately, I did not make the restore point. I want to reinstall my windows but it cant boot from CD/DVD due to startup failure. I already choose the booting sequence to CD/DVD as first sequences but it still does not work.
Anyone can help me with this issues?

2. Do you receive the same error message when we use the normal boot, safe mode and Last Known Good Configuration? If no please share it with us.
3. What error messages do you receive when we try to boot from CD/DVD?
