How to fix corrupt ipod without restoring

I'm trying to access the hard disk section of my ipod because i got a new one and want to transfer all my music and files but when i connect it to my computer, it freezes and says the ipod is corrupt but its not. I don't want to restore because i'll lose all my songs. any suggestions?

I am not aware of any other options.
Of course, if you have been syncing and backing up your iPhone, you will be able to easily recover your data from there.

It's not designed to work like this. When you sync, the iPod stores some information that basically says 'this iPod belongs to computer xyz'. Apple did this to prevent copyright issues (syncing someone else's music).
If you really want to do this, you'll have to at least tie both iTunes installations to the same account. Maybe have them sync with each other.

  • How to fix my iPhone without restoring?

My iPhone did not have enough space for me to be able to update the software, but when I connected it with iTunes (in order to delete music) it gave me the option to update my phone. It was unable to update. There is now an image on the screen of a firewire and directions to connect to iTunes. I can't use my phone. I can only turn it on and off, and when I try to plug it into iTunes my only option is restoration. I would really prefer NOT to delete my data. Are there alternative solutions to this problem?

I have seen the Apple webpage suggesting the "five R's" (including restore).  Before doing anything, I want to be sure that restoring or any other action is not going to delete or risk my data.
I would be very grateful if anyone can suggest a fix for this problem, in a way that will not risk my data.
    Thanks in advance!

Did you try a hard reset with the iPod still connected to your PC?  Have you tried multiple USB ports, preferably high powered USB 2.0 ports?
To do a hard reset, first make sure the hold switch is in the Off position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

By restoring from backup or waiting
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Something may have gone amiss on your iPhone.
To attempt to correct this follow these steps:
Backup your iPhone using iTunes or iCloud.
Use iTunes to completely restore your iPhone as Factory new.
Monitor battery usage to see if it is normal. If not, you may have a hardware problem - if so, contact Apple support.
Restore your iPhone from your backup above.
Check battery usage to confirm that it is still normal.

  • I got my iPhone disabled mistakenly by six trials of entering pass code. However now I remembered  my passcode so how can fix the problem without losing my contents.

I got my iPhone disabled mistakenly by six trials of entering pass code. However now I remembered  my passcode so how can fix the problem without losing my contents.

If your phone is now disabled, you've already lost all data on the phone...that's the whole point of the passcode, to protect the data on the phone. Your only choice now is to force the phone into recovery mode & restore it, as described here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
This will remove the passcode, but also erase all data on the phone unless you have a backup to restore from.

how to fix my ipod touch, because everytime i use or i play games sometimes it will turn off/closed/lock....how to fixed that problem

Try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod
if still problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My friend's iPod touch 5th gen is locked somehow for 41 years and she does not have a backup. Is there a way to unlock the iPod without restoring it or loosing the pictures and videos from the camera roll?

My friend's iPod touch 5th gen is locked somehow for 41 years  and she does not have a backup. Is there a way to unlock the iPod without restoring it or loosing the pictures and videos from the camera roll, the applications can be redownloaded and she had no music. Is there any known bug about ipods locking on their own because no one seemed to have tried to bypass the 4 digit code and it is locked for 26 million minutes. So thank you if anyone has any information or help for us.

Your friend may have placed the ipod next to an object that repeatedly pressed the screen.  Under certain circumstances this can lead to what appears to the iTouch to be failed attempts to access the system.  After repeated failed attempts, the Touch increases the waiting time required for the password and may ultimately lock in the way you describe.
It's been a while since this was posted, but this might be informative to someone else who finds themself in a similar predicament.

i was wondering if you could unlock your ipod without restoring it?

Sure.  You can go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc.) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.
