This means that either your firewall/antivirus is blocking access to Apple's servers, or you have used your computer to jailbreak an iDevice in the past. The link above tells you how to resolve this issue. -

I had a problem with my iPhone 5 connecting to my service provider (verizon) and also to the internet just minutes after I had used the internet to browse before work this morning. I tried soft reset, hard reset, and connecting to my computer, but nothing worked to get it back to normal. This has just happened to me today. I have an iphone 5 on Verizon. I was using the internet on the device normally when it started. It couldn't access any online data even though it had 4 bars of service and LTE. I restarted it and it would be stuck "Searching for network". I tried wiping the phone with no luck. It gets stuck at around 99% of the firmware restore process and hangs there for about 25 minutes before itunes gives me the error described above. I tried the recover-mode restore with the same results.
I need a working phone ASAP, this is extremely frustrating! -

You have to delete the corrupt back-up so iTunes can at least back-up the current data on the iPhone and then restore it. Search these forums, there a several good posts on how to delete the corrupt back-up.

Find a way to delete what you do not need on the computer. Start by emptying the Recycle Bin.
