  • How to fix Firefox 31.0-1 crashing on the Audio-Api - for example on quizlet.

    Dear Firefox-Team,
since yesterday (after updates) Firefox crashes when it tries to play sound. I guess because of the Audio-Api? It crashes on Google-Mail and Quizlet.
For quizlet i found a site where they describe how their sound works: http://quizlet.com/help/how-does-audio-work-on-quizlet
When i open the audio-testfile firefox crashes instantly without an errormessage. Here you get the example soundfile: http://a.s.quizlet.com/en.mp3?v=5&b=SWYgeW91IGNhbiBoZWFyIHRoaXMsIGF1ZGlvIGlzIG5vdCBiZWluZyBibG9ja2VkLg&s=LAhrMA-0
Can i do anything on this? Its really hard for me to understand why it crashes.

Using another browser when you are having problems is okay.
Lets try this; Start the '''Computer''' in safe mode. Then Firefox.
If you get FF running, get the crash reports and post them here.
Cruise safe web sites for a while. After, reboot.
    Starting The Computer In Safe Mode;
If running, turn your computer off.
Remove any disks and thumb drives that are in your hard drives or ports.
    Now start your computer but also;
'''Windows; '''Press the <F8> key repeatedly.
'''Mac: '''Hold down the Shift key.
'''Linux; '''Using the command line, Linux/Unix computers can be booted
into various run levels that determine which resources are loaded.
For example, "runlevel 1" is typically the equivalent to Windows and
    Mac safe modes.
    * Source; '''[http://encyclopedia2.thefreedictionary.com/Linux+Safe+Mode Safe Mode; Free Online Encyclopedia]'''
When the '''Boot''' menu is displayed, release the key you were pressing.
    You must now choose what mode to use. The most used are;
    * Safe Mode; The computer runs with only a minimum set of programs.
    * Safe Mode '''With '''Networking; Same as above, but with internet access.

  • How to fix continued crashes and hangs of iPhone, iTunes and iPhoto.

    PROBLEM
I started to suffer these immediate problems when getting iPhone:
    1. When the iPhone is connected to the computer, iTunes would hang, and also iPhoto would hang.
    2. Both would need to be restarted from the opt-apple-esc key option.
    3. When iTunes was re-started, it would not "see" the iPhone, or even if it "saw" the iPhone, it would refuse to sync. This refusal was either from (a) an error reporting a connection error, or (b) the process of synch would hang.
    4. iPhoto about 1/2 of the time would not properly import photos.
    DIAGNOSIS
After trial and error, I came to the following conclusions:
a/ Part of the problem involved the USB connector on my laptop. It was not connecting 100%, so by jiggling it and making sure it was clean, the connection errors started to decrease some, (but did not go away).
b/ By pulling up the Process Monitor, I noticed that the CPU was becoming overloaded each time the iTunes and iPhoto applications crashed. (I have an older machine, a PowerBook g4 17" with 1GHz CPU, 2 GB RAM.
    HOW TO FIX PROBLEM
    The following worked for me:
1/ For iPhoto, change the settings so that it does NOT automatically launch when the iPhone is plugged in. This is done with iPhoto>Preferences>General: "Connection Camera Opens" > No Application. You can still use iPhoto with your iPhone, but it will not automatically launch when the iPhone is plugged in. This will stop the hanging. [at least it did for me]
2/ For iTunes, disable the option to "sync when plugged in" iTunes>Preferences>Syncing> check the box "disable automatic syncing".
The effect of these actions is to disable the complex chain of events that occurs when the iPhone is plugged in. I believe my CPU just can not handle them. So once they are disabled, there is no problem doing this manually. iPhoto does not launch, even if you have not photographs to upload, and iTunes does not try to launch and sync all in one giant transaction. You simply click the "sync" button when you wish to sync.
My suggestion is that if you have an older mac, check to see if the CPU is getting overwhelmed. If it is, then these setting might help you. For me, after they were put in place, I've not had quite as many problems. About 1/2 the time, iTunes will not sync, but this is easily fixed by simply quitting and restarting iTunes. That seems to work most of the time.

  • How To Fix Jrun Crashes in ColdFusion 8

I have ColdFusion 8 running on Windows Server 2008 with IIS 7.  Lately JRun has been crashing every few minutes.  I don't know what the cause could be.  Can anyone give advice on how to fix it?
The jron error I am getting in the server log mentions MSVCR100.dll and states:

From "OUT log" details sounds like there is a problem with the CF webserver connector.
What do you do to overcome the outage eg restart server, restart CF or restart IIS?
It would be nice to narrow down problem a bit more. Maybe there will be some interesting detail in ColdFusion8\runtime\lib\wsconfig\1\LogFiles\ jrun_iis6_wildcardYYMMDD.log file?
I want to suggest delete the old connector and rebuild it using WSCONFIG.EXE tool from ColdFusion8\runtime\bin however I expect when you unintalled CF8 you likely removed the IIS connector information then the subsequent install added the connector setup information again. Maybe you can comment on how you attached CF8 to IIS?
Sorry more questions than answers, Carl.

  • How to fix Firefox version of website (?)

Trying again. My first post attempt resulted in a blank page
because there was no "post" or "save" function available and I
finally gave up in disgust. There is a "Post Message" button below
this text box, replacing the "Edit Message" button that was there
before, along with the usual "Preview" "Attach Code" and "Cancel"
buttons that were always there. No, I'm not kidding. Maybe it will
actually work this time. Anybody ever have problems with posting to
    these forums, besides me?
Anyway, please take a look at www.cheltenhamhomecare.com in
both IE and Firefox and tell me how to fix the code so the bar and
email link at the bottom of the page will hug the bottom of the
browser window, as they do in IE? In Firefox, the only way to get
to them is to scroll down all the way. There must be some solution,
    right? Anybody?
    Thanks in advance...
    Jonathan

First, you have enough errors to be concerned about:
    http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cheltenhamhomecare.com%2F
2nd, those errors and the absence of a DOCTYPE are kicking Fx
    into quirks
mode. That may be a factor and must be fixed regardless.
Next, it looks like you may have used code generated by
    ImageReady, If so,
that is always suspect as image editing apps are notorious
    for spewing out
    verbose, fragile code.
I see you are using some incredibly large spacer gifs, rarely
    a good idea.
Finally, the page is full of deprecated tags such as
    <font>.
I think your entire construction approach is too flawed to
    ever be
    successful.
    Sorry.

  • How to solve firefox crashing and continuous "unresponsive script" messages?

I've had this issue for a couple days now. When in firefox and having multiple tabs open, the tab that I am on will freeze and an "unresponsive script" message will come up. When I only have one tab open, the browser will shut down completely without any message. I have already tried disabling all of my plugins, allowing the script to run longer, restarting firefox, and even uninstalling and reinstalling firefox. None of these seem to work for me. Does this mean I have a virus? Are there any other things I can try or should I have this looked at?

Try this for your mac computer:
Please do the following to give us crash IDs that will help us understand more about the crash.
#'''(OS X 10.6 or previous)''' Click the '''Finder''' icon in the dock. Your home folder will be selected. In the right side of the window, click the Library folder to open it. Then open the "Application Support" folder, the "Firefox" folder, the "Crash Reports" folder and finally the "submitted" folder.<br>'''(OS X 10.7 or above)''' Click the '''Finder''' icon in the dock. On the menu bar, click the '''Go''' menu, hold down the '''option''' or '''alt''' key and select '''Library'''. A window will open containing your Library folder. Then open the "Application Support" folder, the "Firefox" folder, the "Crash Reports" folder and finally the "submitted" folder.
#Open the 5 most recent files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID with '''bp-''' into the reply window on the forums.
    Thanks in advance!

  • How to fix Swype crashes on 4.0.4 (Firefox 37.0.1)?

Every once in a while my Swype crashes on Android 4.0.4. (Samsung P6800, Firefox 37.0.1), so I'm forced to change between the virtual keyboards to get it working again. After that Swype operates fine, but i need to repeat this procedure with every Firefox launch. What seems to be the problem and how i can get rid of it? Thanks in advance for your reply!

I did not have any trouble with the free swype keyboard on the same Android version but on a Note 4.
The one difference I noticed, however is that I have automatic updates selected. Do any other settings change?

  • How can I fix Firefox crashing whenever I have many tabs open?

I will try to keep this short. I used to be a long time Firefox user...like since it was first released. I have always had issues with it crashing when having many tabs open. I couldn't take it anymore and jumped ship. After a brief period using Chrome I decided to install version 31 and try it out again.
I still have the same exact issues. The issue has persisted across multiple computer builds with increasing power and memory.
Currently I am running an i7 4770k with 32GB of RAM and a GTX 770, SSDs, etc. I just installed Firefox yesterday after getting fed up with Chrome and some of its issues. Firefox has crashed about 6-10 times since then.
I am a heavy browser. I normally build up tons of open tabs, upwards of 100+ open tabs at once (maybe more, I've never counted). I understand that this can use a lot of memory, but I have a ton of memory. My system utilization does not go above 30% ever, yet Firefox consistently crashes. I'm actually a bit surprised, it seems worse now than it ever has in the past. It crashes, I restore, and it will crash again within 5 minutes. I have no add-ons installed. I had Ad Block Plus installed briefly but I uninstalled that once these crashes started.
This is Firefox, no add-ons no extras, nothing else to alter its performance. It crashes constantly. This may just be the final attempt before I go searching elsewhere.

I tried to do as you instructed but I don't see any of my recent crashes in there. There are some older ones I see, perhaps from a previous install? There is nothing for the crashes I've had the past day or two. I don't normally submit crash reports though anymore. I can try to recreate the problem and submit one soon if that helps?

hello partdimi, your crash is caused by a library named ''BitGuard.dll'' - please see if you can remove the program from your system's control panel.
when you google this file name it is also often associated with malware, so you also might want to run a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and different tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes], [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner] and [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx microsoft safety scanner].

    THANK YOU!!
While I am also unsure what this "fix" is for, it resolved a problem I have had for months with iTunes and the Music app in iOS7.  I have about 4,500 songs in my iTunes library and before buying my iPhone 5S I had a Samsung Android phone.  Google music worked PERFECTLY and would always add anything from iTunes to it's library without a second thought.
However, after I setup my iPhone and got used to iOS7 I realized the Music app was only showing about 1/3 of my music. I turned off iTunes Match, I turned it on, I reset my phone, I tried everything.  My iPod Mini and iPhone would only show a portion of my iTunes library even when a cloud icon was next to a song.
I ended up downloading and using a Google Music App for iPhone which (here we go) could see all of my music. However, it drove me crazy that I had to use this 3rd party app when Apple and iOS7 should have worked and showed me every song I owned.
Well, after weeks of searching online for a solution on a whim I used the one above just to see if it had any effect. Sure enough, IT WORKED. How it worked, I have no idea. What was wrong, I have no idea. But within a few minutes ALL of my iTunes library is now visable on my iPad and iPhone using the proper iOS7 app and I was able to delete the 3rd party one.
    Amen!

  • How to fix Flash crashes and failure to load on streaming sites?

Crashes:  Over the past month, I have been experiencing MAJOR Flash Player problems.  The biggest problems were random crashes during ads on streaming sites: Hulu and Crackle.  When Verizon and (and sometimes Maybelline) ads would play, the player would grind to a halt, have trouble moving forward unless I minimized the window while the ad played, or completely crash with a white screen and grey circle with an exclamation mark.  Sometimes the problem completely crashes Firefox, not just the video screen.
Player load problems:  Today, the Flash Player won't load at all on CBS.com and cwtv.com.  On CBS.com, a white circle will appear to seem as if it will load, but nothing happens.  On TVLand.com I have a similar experience.  CWTV has just a blank black screen.
Please help!  This occurs with Firefox and IE 8.  I have a 32-bit XP system running SP 3.   My copies of Flash are up to date for both browsers; hardware acceleration and Protected Mode are off.

I did not have any trouble with the free swype keyboard on the same Android version but on a Note 4.
The one difference I noticed, however is that I have automatic updates selected. Do any other settings change?

  • I don't know how to fix my crashes

I am using multiple profiles. After using for approximately 5 minutes. The profiles keep crashing which would be very bad for what I need the profiles to do and slow down my working processes.

Have you tried the Firefox 22 Release version, in addition to the 23 Beta version?
Any problems when you are using just one Profile? ''[just to test]''

  • How to fix Firefox when stops loading content

Firefox has become virtually unusable for me. After a little bit of use, the program just refuses to load new content. I don't know what the issue is that's causing it but I've done everything I can to try to fix it:
"Reset" Firefox in the Help area
    Set up a new profile
    Tried Firefox in Safe Mode
    Removed all of my add-ons
    Complete uninstall/reinstall
Run Malware Bytes, Microsoft Security Essentials, and Spybot scans which returned clean
    Disabled hardware acceleration
Updated all my plug-ins except Java whose website was down and wouldn't allow me to download the new version
Tried to dump the cache by reloading using "CTL+F5"
Manually added Firefox to Windows Firewall
There may have been more that I've tried, but nothing is working. After a little bit of use (it's random, I haven't found a specific amount of time, tabs, websites, content, etc...), the program just refused to load new content. If I go to Facebook, it may upload a new update, but no additional images or media will load. If I open a new tab and try to launch a website, I just get the spinning circle.
At some point, it will let some parts of a website load, but I have to let it sit a long time until it finally loads, even then, the site loads with all kinds of errors (no images, formatting is messed up, etc...).
I have had issues with Firefox in the past and I just went to Chrome. I think the issue lies in the FF24 update because it had been working fine previously. I don't know what else to do... Any suggestions?

    Hello,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

hello, maybe that's an issue with hardware acceleration - please try [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL|updating your graphics driver]], or in case this doesn't solve the issue or there is no new version available at the moment, disable hardware acceleration in ''firefox > options > advanced > general''.
