Hi,
I have Quicktime 7.1.5 pro. When I try to play a video through the player (local on the computer's desktop) the video colors are off (in a psychedelic way). No good for viewing or editing.
When I drag that same video to a web browser (firefox) the video is okay. Here are links to two screen shots to show the problem:

hmmmm. perhaps try working through the following document. (itunes uses QuickTime for video playback, so the same basic troubleshooting procedures apply.)

When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use

Look at the more like this on the right column of the web page.
This is the most common error here.. we answer it 5-10times every day.
Simple method.. pull out the TC power cord .. count to 10.. plug in the TC power cord.

Try deleting Flash cookies.

If that doesn't help, UNinstall the old Flash plugin first, then reinstall new.

Here's the video, just in case my explanation doesn't do justice, Shou.tv/aesthete18. It's the 21:03 minutes one (You can rotate video on top right corner)
Some details on the video:
The video on the site is recorded at 2mbps bitrate and 720p resolution. The max is 16mbps bitrate and 1080p resolution. Both have the same issues
The problem:
When the character is walking, the video seems to be wavy, you can see the screen is kinda moving to the right. It's really hard to watch and hurts the eyes after awhile. I'm not sure if this has to do with bitrate or anything but I doubt it as a friend of mine did it in 8mbps without any issues, he's was pretty smooth.
What I'd like to know is, can it be fixed in AE? A friend of mine has AE CS4 but he doesn't know much about it. I'd be willing to learn, if you'd point me in the right direction, I can use his PC to edit.
Keep in mind, I've only just seen the interface of AE and have no idea how anything works.

The link is to a game play screen capture, which is upside down by the way, and it shows a lot of color and motion artifacts. The artifacts and frame rate problems have everything to do with your screen capture program and if they are in the original video there is not much you can do about it using AE or any other program. I can't stand to watch game play anyway. It even gives me a headache when the most games are running. I know recording your game play is popular with the gaming community but there has got to be a better way to capture it than the way you are doing.

Does anyone use the Veho MUVI mini camcorder? If so how do you download your video from it. I plugged it into the USB port and my Mac doesn't show a removable disc on my desktop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am new to Mac and am not sure how to get my camcorder to be recognized by ny Mac.

I have iMovie '11, and I am unable to access mpeg HD video files that I want to edit. The files are fine (I can open and watch them using VLC), but I cannot seem to import the files into iMovie. File Import does not work. Any suggestions??

More detail: I have a bunch of mpeg HD video files that were shot on a SONY HDR-HC3 Handycam camcorder. I would like to edit these into a single video production. I can access and view the mpeg files using VLC (Quicktime does not work with them). However, I seem to be unable to get the mpeg files to interface with iMovie '11 -- I cannot use the File --> Import command, nor can I drag-and-drop them into iMovie.
Is there something anyone might suggest to get this to work? Or are these files incompatible with iMovie? If so, I assume I must purchase a different video editing software program (e.g. Adobe Premeir Pro). Suggestions???

Yes, I tried that.   The files were ordered by their original numbers as imported from the camera, but I batched them through Phocoshop to downsize all of them into a more manageable file size.   I opened that destination folder from quick time from where it said select image sequence.   I clicked on the first one and opened it.   The result was a large image with an arrow indicating a movie was ready to go.   When I pressed the arrow, though, I realized it had only imported that one frame so there was no movie.   The files are Jpgs and are about 450 KB each.
    To your knowledge are there any links to iMovie tutorials or quick time tutorials that may address this situation? Maybe there will be one I haven't looked at yet.

How do I turn my video settings on to play a movie on the tv?

I have a red, yellow, white adaptor to connect my iPad to the tv to play movies. The directions say to turn the video output to "on" to be able to play the video on the television. When I go to video settings this is not an option. Does anyone know how I can get a video to play on the tv. I have an old tv too. So no wifi is available on it. This adaptor was working a few weeks ago when I last used it to watch midnight in Paris.

Some videos that are purchased from the iTunes store require HDCP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hdcp) It's standard on HDMI and Blu-Ray players. If the video can't communicate with the device it's hooked up to, it will not play.
Since the composite cable you're using can't transmit HDCP (only HDMI cables can), you won't be able to play that video. This is a video-to-video selection, made by the studios.

Don't know how to fix this - status says no internet connection, yet I'm on the internet.

So this is a weird one.
I got this new MacBook Air and the WiFi started up without a hitch. I had finished migrating from my old computer to my new one and all of a sudden the status bar signal went from full bars to an exclamation point. The info says Alert: No Internet Connection, yet I am on the internet at full speed. Even though I have restarted several times, the status in the status bar remains the same. Since internet is running smoothly, part of me says to forget about it, but it bothers me.
Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this issue without ruining my internet connectivity on this computer?

Migration may have corrupted the network preferences ..
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Click Go then move all the files in the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.
See if that makes a difference.
Your Mac will generate a new SystemConfiguration folder for you.
