How to fix network problems (3g, edge) with the 4 ios

Hi guys,
if you have problem with your 3g or edge, here is the solution:
Restore your iPhone.
At the end, a message will pop-out to update your carrier configuration, deny it.
Disconnect your iPhone from your computer, and go to setting> general> about
a message will pop-out to update your carrier, on the phone and accept it.
If you do not get this message, go to safari and start navigating, after a bit, the message to update your carrier will appear, then accept it.
It worked on my 3GS.

Haha...
the irony is that mine changed back to Rogers 7.0 after a reboot and internet stopped working again. Then I called Rogers and spent 2 hours doing this:
1.go to general > reset > reset all contents and settings (after a backup of course)
2.after the reboot, wait for the carrier update pop-up to show up and accept it.
3.REBOOT your phone. (this step supposedly allows the os to save the carrier settings to memory so it won't change after the restore)
4.restore to your backup
5.check if you've got the updated settings in general>about menu.
Didn't work for me but maybe it'll work for some of you.
