How to fix NIK HDR Efex Pro 2 CRASH on launch in Photoshop Mac OSX Mavericks???

Hi Guys,
NIK HDR Efex Pro 2 CRASHES every time i launch it in photoshop on mac osx mavericks.
then shuts down photoshop completely and i lose my work, i have tried to uninstall it and reinstall it but its giving this error now.
please refer to this image below:
Can someone please help sort this out!!!

Update. Google has confirmed the problem and I find it also exists in Photoshop CC 2014.
After some testing I've discovered a slightly inconvenient work around that works in Photoshop CC 2014, I haven't tested it in Photoshop CC
A 'simple' work around is to select Preferences->Performance... then uncheck "Use Graphics Processor", click OK to exit preferences, select Preferences->Performance... and check the "Use Graphics Processor" box again, quit Photoshop, restart Photoshop. The brush pattern is again shown.

Merging Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 into CC

When I select my images in Br and then try to merge them in Nik HDR Efex Pro 2, nothing happens other than CC in open with a blank screen.

LR5 Export to Nik HDR Efex Pro 2

Win 7, 64 bit, LR5.2RC, Nik HDR Efe Pro 2....
From Export > HDR Efex Pro 2 it used to pause at a screen providing three choices (from memory), "as copy with LR adjustments", "as copy without LR adjustments" or "as orignal". Now it skips that screen and goes direct to HDR Efex Pro 2 and I think it is defaulting to "copy with LR adjustments".
I must have checked a box that said "don't show again"!
How do I get that screen back?

NIK HDR Efex Pro 2 anomaly with Photoshop CC

Every time I use HDR Efex Pro 2 to create a HDR when I return to Photoshop CC the preview in brush size/hardness is missing.
To recreate the error, execute Photoshop CC, open 5 files to create a HDR. Select one of the files and while pressing Control and Option click and drag on the image. Notice that the brush outline also displays a pattern, default is red, showing the brush area.
Execute HDR Efex from Photoshop CC, create the HDR, select vignette from the Landscape set of presets. Return to Photoshop CC. Select any brush and while pressing Control and Option click and drag on the image. Notice that the brush outline shows but the brush pattern is no longer presented.
The only way I've found to restore the pattern is to either delete the Photoshop CC presets or copy a good preset file over the faulty one.
Anyone have an idea on how to fix this problem without copying a file? I've already reported this to Google, but haven't received an answer from them yet.

Nik HDR Efex Pro Crashes Aperture

I am using all the Nik plugins with Aperture 3.1, but HDR Efex Pro crashes Aperture about 1/3 of the time on my iMac. Nik says the cause is probably a corrupt file in my user account, and there is a basis for this since I can run HDR Efex Pro on my MacBook Pro or using a new user account without a problem. I think that Nik should also accept some responsibility since this is the only program that crashes Aperture. Does anyone else have a fix for this other than doing a clean install of OS X?

Hi I also have this problem with HDR Efex Pro for me it seems that it crashes every 2nd or 3de set of photo's that I am opening. It says that my memory is to full. I've looked at my memory in activity monitor while i am working and it does not seems that my Memory is emptying after every time I've finished a set of HDR series. It is big files and my memory is then full very fast and then system crash. So I don't know why does the files that I've worked with stay full and does not empty itself. HDR Efex Pro is the only Nik software that I find makes my Aperture Crash.

but if I order HDR Efex 2 Pro out of CS6 - anything works.
Nik-Software don't really know an solution, so anybody here has an Idea?

With previous versions of PS, I was using HDR Efex Pro 2 as a filter on a smart object ... with 32-bit files.
With CC, it works on 16-bit and 8-bit files as before.
It only crashes with 32-bit files now.
If you have a 32-bit file in CC, all the items in the layer menu are grayed, unselectable.
Is it normal?
I uninstalled CS6, so I can't compare ...
But, I think that there is a problem in CC for 32-bit files.

Premiere Pro CC Crashing on HD capture start-up - OSX Mavericks

Hi. Just installed mavericks, much to my chagrin. Before I was able to perform live HD capture on my newer iMac. Now software crashes as soon as the camera is turned on. DV capture is no problem. Suggestions?

Edit - this was PP CS6. I just tried CC - captures OK, but comments in other thread, no monitor during capture.

Ps CC plug-in: Nik/Google HDR Efex Pro 2 - Deadly Problem

I know this is the Photoshop forum, but Google has no user forum for the Nik Software Photoshop-plug-in products Google recently acquired.
Nik's HDR Efex Pro 2 is a great piece of software, but as of today, it crashes on load, then brings Photoshop CC (v. 14.1.1 x64 on Mac OS X 10.8.4) to its knees as well. :-(
I visited the Nik support page, and did everything it suggested, including disabling any GPU processing, via altering the HDR Efex Pro 2 .cgf file. - No joy.
I am basically stuck with a GREAT little $100 piece of software that no longer works. Any ideas?

I sent a support email to Nik Software/Google, and they sent me a link to the new "Nik Collection" which I downloaded and am now using for FREE (no additional charge over what I paid Nik a few months ago) -- this includes the Photoshop plugin, HDR Efex Pro 2, that stopped working. All works perfectly now. Thanks, Google.

Aperture constantly crashing - esp. with HDR Efex Pro

I'm running Aperture 3.1.1 and OS 10.6.6. I've deleted the Aperture prefs, rebuilt the photo library, reinstalled Aperture, reinstalled OS 10.6.6, run all of the tests and repairs in Disk Utility and Onyx, and Aperture still crashes at frequent intervals whenever I'm editing - usually when painting something in or out with brushes. By far the most consistent crash is whenever I try to edit a photo with the HDR Efex Pro plug-in. I also get the spinning ball a lot, at fairly random intervals. The funny thing is that the HDR Efex Pro plug-in seems to work fine if I open Aperture in another user account although unfortunately my photo library is in my standard account and I'm reluctant to relocate it just to get a working version of Aperture. I've done everything suggested in Nik's FAQs (eg. deleting duplicate fonts), but nothing works. The Nik people have said I have a corruption in my user file which is beyond the scope of their support. I'm running a 24" 2.8GHz iMac with 4GB of RAM and about 20GB of free hard disk space. Aperture hasn't encountered many problems before recently, so my setup seems to have enough power. I have about 15,000 photos in the library (after importing my iPhoto library recently - by reference only) and the Aperture library is about 140Gb in size. If anyone has any suggestions for a fix, I'd be very grateful as I've run out of ideas. Thanks

Hi, I am no expert in Aperture 3 However just like you I had many issues and crashes of A3. My system is almost identical to yours and my A3 problems were the same as you. Like you, I tried all the fixes but still no luck. Yesterday, I went into my A3 Pref's / Previews & I changed the setting for "share with ilife and iwork" to never.
I haven't had a problem since but only time will tell if this is a total fix.

HDR Efex Pro 2 not working in LR5

When I open HDR Efex Pro 2 from the "Edit With…" choices, LR duplicates each RAW file as a tiff. In this case, 3 images. All works as expected, except when it's time to save. My other Nik apps return a tiff file and stack it with the originals in LR. HDR Efex opens a "Save" dialog box asking for the location. Checked settings in HDR Efex and "Stack" is turned on.
I do know the trick of pointing LR toward some external apps for editing. LR Prefs>Choose the Additional External Editor, clear it, point to the app with the "Choose" button, then save it as a new preset with its own name. I did have to do this with Silver Efex Pro and possibly one other app, and they function as they're supposed to afterward. I've tried reinstalling the whole Nik collection to no avail.
Any recommendation would be most appreciated.

So, I found the answer myself after some extensive research (and sadly after processing 100 images the wrong way). HDR Efex Pro 2 doesn't work like any other external editor. To work properly you have to use File>Export with Preset and choose it. That prevents generating the extra tiff files and returns the HDR processed file to its proper place in the folder or collection.

Nik Color Efex Pro

I read online that there are issues with Photoshop CC and Nik Color Efex Pro being compatible. The issue I'm reading about is the Nik plug in being installed into Photoshop CC upon download. Has this issue been fixed?

Ask the makers of Nik software. They have had many issues with their plug-ins and only they can't tell you if they have an updated version to address your particular problem.
It's up to Nik to fix their bugs.

Aperture 3.6 crashes when using Nik Color Efex Pro 4 (v. 1.2.8)

I have recently bought a collection of Nik Color Efex Pro presets from Flypaper and had it installed within the plug-in. Since then, if I call the plug-in, Aperture will crash when I close it. I have tried to revert to a previous plug-in, dug up from my Time Machine as well as a previous Aperture from the same source. Useless.
I also ran the newly populated plug-in from LS and it operated perfectly. So the plug-in doesn't seem to be corrupted.
Do you have any suggestion?

You can find out the version you have installed by launching Photoshop:

Help with Nik HDR Efex

I have searched the entire LR4 Beta program and I can not determine how/where to have LR4 save my HDR Tiff results. Once I process the shots in HDR Efex Pro, I save the shot, but it doesn't appear to inport back into LR4. Any suggestions are appreciated.

OK. Really confused now. When I right-click on the first (of the three bracketed) shots, and then choose "show in finder", I can see and open the tiff HDR file. So the question is why can't I see the file in the LR4 browser? If it's stacked, I can't find the appropriate action to unstack - I just see the three raw files in LR4. Any help is appreciated.
