How to fix pdfmaker for excel on windows 8?

My office upgraded our computers to windows 8. My adobe acrobat works fine but the pdfmaker on the excel is not working. I looked on the troubleshoot on adobe and it recommended to check addin. I checked it and it still will not add to excel. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help would be great. Thanks.

What is the version of Acrobat and MS Office do you have?
Make sure the the Acrobat is updated to its latest version. Go to Help -> Check for updates.
If nothing works, then try repairing Acrobat via Help -> Repair Acrobat Installation.

How to fix Imac 8.1 on Windows black screen problem?

Firstly when I originally got this machine it seemed (about 4 years ago), sometimes had my Pc forget the keys shortcuts for the Mac)
Anyway over the last year I have the problem where I'd be in the middle of doing something on the Windows side then randomly go black. Strangely this doesn't effect the Mac side on my Boot Camp.
After some testing on the Windows side I noticed this screen doesn't force the black screen when I'm either watching a video using 'Media player' or playing a game like 'STO' or 'KOTOR'. Also I wouldn't mind the black screen if it was temp but the thing is it stays black until I hard-reset the Imac.
Anyway does anyone have any idea's on how to fix this? It's been a problem for the Windows side for a while, haven't had much luck trying to fix the issue so the video playing 'idea' was always a temp solution till I can find a way to fix the issue. (The problems exists on both Windows 7/8 but now using windows 8 again because had to replace my broken hard drive recently).

I think the "for best performance" may be misleading. I just removed mail for the lock screen apps and afaik it still remained live. I didnt see anything in CBS that pointed to the lock screen problem but if SFC cant finish (it seemed
like it terminated prematurely because of a power setting in auto shutdown) it should eventually be repaired.
You should eventually get an OS dvd (for emergencies if nothing else) and that can be used to do a repair install.
I am wondering if a change in group policy or a malware application might be the reason for the locked screen. You do have admin rights on your user right?

How to design for excel output with no page size limit.
I have several fields going across (crossing width of paper size 11X17 landscape) and I do not need this report output to be printed at all only for excel output.

Hi Padma,
You would need to increase the Page Size horizontally. Go to File > Page Setup > Check 'No Printer' > Check 'Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer page Size' > Increase the Horizontal value.

Basically you need to logon as Administrator
Go to ->System Administration -> System Configuration -> Keystore Administration -> Download veryfy.der
then
Check backend parameters...
login/accept_sso2_ticket = 1
login/create_sso2_ticket = 2
Logon to Backend, go to transaccion strustsso2 and add the certificate (veryfy.der)
At the portal, go to ->System Administration -> System Configuration -> System Lanscape -> go to the system and make sure that Logon Method is SAPLOGONTICKET
That should be pretty much it...

In a 2D coordinate system the horizontal values are represented by some letter, usually x. In the same coordinate system the vertical values are classically represented by y.
Note: In your code, if you wish, you can replace x and y with anything you desire--p and q or perhaps jeff and alice or any variable name you wish, but for simplicity, and usually ease of understanding because almost everyone has had 100's of math problems drilled into their head with (x, y), x and y are used as convention.
In Java the screen coordinates run from 0 to the width-1 for x and 0 to height-1 for y of the component you are using to display.
So logically when you have a value of x or y that goes beyond the addressable bounds of your display, then you have to make some type of adjustment--when your value dips below 0, you reset it to 0, when your value goes above what ever width-1 or height-1 then you have to set that value to width-1 or height-1.
This all assumes that when you hit the wall, floor, or ceiling you stick there until you change directions--if you wish to wrap then you set your value to the opposite bound--so if you go below 0, you would then pop out back in on the right side--your appropriate x would be set to width-1 instead of 0 and in the case of y going below 0 your y would be set to height-1. This is also to say that when you descend below your minimum, then you would pop back out on the opposite side you went out on--so x greater then width-1 would get set to 0 and y greater than height-1 would get set to 0.
That is not even a start on if you want to include elastic collisions, angle of impact, any type of deceleration force, or anything else.
In any case... I would recommend that you add more math to your studies, I've never met an engineer or computer science grad that said: "Wow, I really regret taking all that math in college (or HS), I never use it."

Hi,
Your PDF output and the output of the Template on Web should be similar, ideally. But, if the width of the 2 reports are bigger and that cannot fix in one page, then the PDF output will not be as you require it to be.
You have to decrease the dimensions of the Analysis item in the Template and see how the output size varies in the Web.
Also, when you have defined the command for converting to PDF, select the checkbox which allows you to see the "Page Setup" while you are converting it to PDF in the Web, ie in the output of the template. Here, set the margins to the minimum (Left, right, top and bottom). This also ensures that the Analysis item gets the maximum area in the output.

Here the margins are set to 10. You can even try decreasing this depending on your requirement.

How I fixed Ipod not recognized by windows.

Like many of you I spent many frustrating hours trying to get my daughter's shuffle working. I had given up when a co-worker suggested updating the drivers. To do this go to control panel/system. Then go to the hardware tab and click the device manager. If after connecting your ipod it does not show up in explorer and in the device manager window you see an unknown device you probably had the same problem as I did. To fix, double click the unknown device to bring up its properties window. Then go to the driver tab and click the update drivers button. It asked me to search the internet and I let it. After a couple of minutes it found drivers for a USB large capacity storage device or something like that and loaded the drivers. After the drivers where installed I could now see the IPOD show up in explorer. I then reran the restore process on the Ipod and everything finally started working.
Hope this helps as I lost 8 hours trying to fix this thing.
I am not sure why XP with service pack two could not find the drivers by itself or why Apple doesn't have better support, but at least my daughter is happy now.

I had the same problem. But the shuffle worked fine on another computer. The problem was with my computer...a Sony Vaio. To much plastic molding around the USB port so the shufflw was not getting a flsuh connection to USB port. I simply took a knife and whittled away the plastic molding on the computer until a good connection was made.

I would like to add couple of things - based on my recent experince.
We have a client/server 6i forms/reports application running on Linux and Solaris, which I have recently ported to iAS 10g (9.0.4). My biggest issue was the fonts and icons, but the entire application (more forms , less reports than you have) took only a week. Still have problem with the graphics - still depends on the 6i graphics :( -- most of the charts are now in reports. There are some "form properties" that are obsolete now, and on linux non of the vbx, etc is supported. I am not sure that applies to the windows version of iAS.
You should also consider licensing. If you are licensed for full stack of iAS EE (includes forms/reports services), then you better utilize single sign on (for added security) and portal, etc. I really liked the portal capabilities. If you only licensed for the Forms/Reports services, then you have no other option (and no headache for sso, infra metadata repository, etc) by default.
For training, I took some courses from Oracle. One of them was the iAS administrator I course. In that particular course, they do not teach deploying forms at all. And if you only deploy Forms/Reports services, I don't thing the iAS administrator II (second part of the course) will not worth the money - they have a CD based offering for that and I think for ~400$ that is a better deal. I was able to deploy our forms/reports on iAS with not too much of a problem (after reading the manuals and white papers from OTN/Metalink). If you are licensed for full stack, then Portal class is really nice - I highly recommended (I can even suggest a particular instructor if you are interested). Oracle also has a class teaching how to develop java by using JDeveloper. That might be very useful for your java programmer/s - given that JDeveloper is now free and includes Oracle Application Development Framework. Even if you are not going to use the full stack of iAS, knowing JDeveloper is nice to complement Forms applications.
Another thing is that certain version of Windows OS (2003 server) might be required to run Forms/Reports Services. There is a FAQ pdf file on OTN, also it a certification matrix is available on Metalink (if you have a valid CSI# you can open an account on Metalink).

How to format HDD for mixed Mac/Windows on shared USB drive

I've been doing a lot of reading so that I can get my new Seagate 500MB USB external drive connected via my AEBS. I'll be sharing the USB with a G3 PowerMac, an iBook, two XP and one Vista Laptop. I've been able to print from all machines to my Canon i960 and set up seemed easy. I'm confused as to how I should format the HD, should if be HFS+ so both windows and Mac can use? I've read some say MS-DOS partition will be best especially if you want to have bigger than 32GB partition and for files greater than 300MB. I'll be putting pictures, iTunes and likely some ripped DiVX videos as well as some DVR's to share across the network. I'll be using a Belkin powered USB Hub to connect the HD and the printer to the AEBS.

If you are connecting the drive to the USB port on theAirPort Extreme base station (AEBS), for best performance format the drive HFS+ (Mac OS Extended). Both Windows and Mac clients will be able to access and use the drive.
The only other formats recognized by the AEBS are FAT32 and FAT16.

How to manage playlist for Zen with Windows 7?

After upgrading to Windows 7 (with WMP2), I noticed that I can no longer make or edit playlists for my 32GB Zen with either WMP2 or the Zen Media Explorer. Anyone know if there is a solution to this, apart from installing another third party media manager?

I have this problem too.
I can see my playlists, but cant modify them or add to them. I have been using winamp to create and modify new ones, but winamp doesnt recognise old .zpm types. Hopefully someone has found a fix for this... or better yet creative could release a windows 7 compatible media explorer.
I would gladly use another 3rd party media manager if it works with playlists properly on my Zen, but have tried many with no success.
