I got a new iPod the other day it was iOS 4.1 so I updated it to iOS 6.1.3 and suddenly after download I go into caned a and try to take a "selfie" and I try to turn the camera around and it freezes and won't let me use the front camera and all the apps like camwow and snapchat keep crashing because you take pictures on then before I updated it was working fine and now it's not can you please tell me how to fix it, I don't know if my camera isn't working or it's a glitch or anything can I just please have somebody help me.

Okay thanks a lot can't restore now but will tomorrow evening I will do the whole process and ill see how it goes if it solves it ill give you a this solved my question so you'll know! :) if you don't I'll try a few other things and if I need to come back to you and ask for advice thanks!

I had the same problem, and it happened within the first 2 weeks of purchasing the ipod. I had tried everything, including resetting it, restoring it, putting the app on the second homescreen, and trying other camera apps. Nothing worked. What I did was fill out a service request form on this website, and since it doesn't actually have anything for the camera, I submitted it under blank black screen and wrote about the camera problem in the notes area.
I sent it out UPS (you won't have to pay, UPS knows the address and procedure well) on a Saturday, and got a brand new one sent to me and in my hands by Wednesday.
If you send yours out, you'll want to back up all your apps and music etc on your computer before sending it, you will not get the same ipod back.
But it was quick and worth it.

When i open my laptop the screen just stays black, i have tried turning it on an back on and it will turn on to the loading white screen and then turn back to black. i have tried calling apple but there tech support is closed on a sunday here in australia. If that doesn't help, try Resetting the System Management Controller

How I fixed the iTunes "freezing when synching" problem

My version of iTunes (the latest version) would freeze whenever I tried to synch. I ran a virus check (found 3 viruses and cleaned them), then I restored my iPod in iTunes, which erases all the music off the iPod. Then I synched the iPod and the problem is gone. Not sure if this will work for you, but it did for me. Good luck.

I noticed that the only option that worked for me was Windows 2000 and that the others (Windows 98/ME, Windows 95, and Windows NT) did not work. This leads me to believe that with more and more updates coming, sooner or later Windows 2000 will be obsolete to the iTunes software.
I know a lot of people who prefer Windows 98 and 2000 over XP because of modibility and hacking ability. So for Windows to essentially throw 98 out the window and not care to make iTunes compatible with it is pretty stupid. I highly doubt those Win98 users want to shell out about $100 to upgrade just to use a free program.
Just another piece of evidence in my theory that Apple is fading out Windows to coax people into buying more Macs.

How come my screen always freeze when Mozilla brings up a new version. That happened on last Firefox update and now when the new Thunderbird was installed. This is really bugging me.

Hi John, thanks a lot, I see that. It actually answers another question I have. I already had that box checked, but I never knew that dialogue box was there. Anyway, my MOTU midi express 128 is dimmed and all 8 midi channel lights are on which has never happened before so there must be something wrong with my midi setup now. sheesh! This helps a lot! Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

Sorry to hear that you're having problems. Tried a restore with iTunes? If not try it and it should work. If this does not work, take it to your local applestore as ths COULD (not saying it is definately) be a Hardware issue.

What version of OS X are you using? If Yosemite, you need to update to 10.10.1 or higher.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

If you just got it back and it isn't fixed or something else is wrong with it take it back and have them do the repair correctly.

Try this.
Erase and Reinstall OS X
Note: This will delete all data on the disk. Back up important files before continuing.
Erasing and then reinstalling OS X can give you a fresh start, making your computer exactly as it was whenever you received it from Apple. This can solve various problems such as corrupt system files.
Shut down the computer by going to Apple () > Shut Down…
Select Shut Down or allow the computer to shut down automatically.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter into a power source and then connect it to your Mac if you have not already done so.
Press the Power Button to turn on the computer.
Press and hold both the R and Command (⌘) keys on the keyboard until the Recovery partition loads.
Select Disk Utility and then choose Continue.
Select your startup disk (Macintosh HD by default) from the left.
Select the Erase tab.
Choose the Format pop-up menu and choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled), enter a name for your disk, and then click Erase.
After the disk is erased, choose Disk Utility > Quit Disk Utility.
Select Reinstall OS X and then choose Continue.
Follow the instructions.

The 6.1.4 update had nothing to do with this. If it did, then every iPhone with 6.1.4 installed would have the same problem.
Apple doesn't support downgrading the firmware, which won't change anything.
If an Apple Store is miles away, then call AppleCare.
