How to fix Software Update Problem?
I was do some update includes new 10.5.1, iTunes, QuickTime, and many more, but today I test to check new update I got blank list and I was try to do via Terminal and got this message

What's going on? and How to fix it my Leopard Software Update Problem
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:

How to fix the delay problem while recording? Can't set the Latency to 0. Win7, CS6,Realtek,C03u Mic
I am using Win7, with CS6, Realtek soundcard and Samson C03U microphone.
There is a problem that's really been bothering me. When I record songs the recorded audio always comes 0.1 seconds after where it's supposed to be and I need to fix the problem every time. How to fix the delay problem while recording? I can't set the Latency to zero. The minimum is 30ms and I still get an obvious delay.
I saw some previous discussions saying that installing ASIO would help. Is it gonna work on my PC?

Yes ASIO drivers are the way to go
If you want zero latency you need to monitor via your audio hardware (hence the 'serious' audio interface suggestion)
There are a heap of reasonable audio interfaces which will do the job for you that are pretty inexpensive and I'm sure that someone will jump in with a suggestion -

If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.

I bought a new 5s and its front and back camera are not working, showing black image. My phone is IOS 7.1.2 updated, and some one insisted that its is software updation problem, and can be resolved by updating to IOS 8. Kindly suggest.
I have the same issue on my iPhone 5s
I've closed the app and re-booted the phone several times but it did not resolve the issue.
Upgrading to iOS 8.0.2 did not resolve it either.
Erasing the iPhone and restoring from a backup did not resolve it.
I'm not sure what else to do. -

HOW TO FIX THE WIFI PROBLEM: Settings > Wifi > (little blue arrow) > scroll down to "Renew Lease" and then click on it.
EnjoyDidn't work for me.
What did work was going to the Wifi network settings and setting the HTTP Proxy to Auto rather than Off.
Worked for both iphone4S and ipad2. -
How would a software update fix iPhones taking yellow pictures?
I am one of the unlucky owners of a yellow picture taking iPhone 4. I have read seveal other threads where people say that hopefully this can be fixed in a software update. Pardon my lack of iPhone prowess but I was just wondering, wouldn't writing a universal software update to fix the problem in one phone then change the software in a properly working phone, in turn potentially causing problems in those phones? In other words, how would they write a software fix that would KNOW which iPhone needed the correction while not impacting the iPhones that are already working fine?

I think all iP4's have this issue but it depends on the lighting. I have tested this on my phone and seven others. Outside in sunlight (about 5500K lighting) it works fine and white balance is very good. Under my Modeling Lights (3200K) still very good but when you get down to low wattage (40 watts) incandescent lighting (2500K) photos are very yellow. I think all iP4's suffer from this, at least the seven that I tested including my own. A software update can fix the way the white balance is corrected.

Beware the Security Update - How I fixed my WIFI problem and a question
First of all I have read the "Latest Update from 21 January is A Disaster" thread and I basically agree with Andrew is Stuck so please don't feel the need repeat any of the stuff about it is not a bug in the update etc etc and I should have a Super Duper clone to hand etc etc . I have read that stuff. You are probably right but they should write on the Security Update info panel - "Be Careful this could really ruin your day".
I am ****** off and stressed out and I need to rant and I am not looking for that kind of lecture - even if it is partially or wholly true. I need to feel positive by warning people the way I wish I had been warned!
NB I am near the end of a professional dance tour as Musical Director running music on Logic on my MBP and it has been working fantastic - not a single glitch in 6 weeks. I would never upgrade my OS or Logic in the middle of job like this BUT Security Updates have always seem like something you should install because they will protect the Mac or protect against any new viruses etc. I have never had a problem with them before. (THAT ATTITUDE WILL NOW CHANGE!!!)
This update has caused a lot of people a lot of problems (check out this forum) and it has caused me more real world problems than anything I have downloaded and installed from anywhere in the last 3 years. Thus it has nothing to do with Security!!! HOw any people does a Security Uodate have to goose before it becomes an unsatisfactory Security Update?
This security update suddenly stopped my WIFI working and put me in a real hole.
(I am sure you don't care but I have a meeting tomorrow morning that I needed to do 3 hours of prep for including looking at VIDEO online. And the Security Update has just put paid to that. )
After 3 hours I have just got WIfi back- here's how:
I repaired permissions twice with Disk Utility - no joy. I found I could get online when I booted in Safe Mode (and I could get online with my Iphone on the same WIFi setup) so I knew it was not the router - though I did switch the router on and off a few times,
When I initially ran Repair permissions there was loads of things needing repair. I ran it again and 2 remained:
usr/share/derby it keeps trying to repair
and one of the package contents of the ARDAgent.app (System>Library>CoreServices>RemoteManagement>ARDAgent.app>Contents>MacOS>ARDAg ent) had a warning attached that it in the Disk Utility Repair Permissions report that it had been modified.
So I restored ARDAgent.app from a Time Machine Back up and replaced the offending file when in Safe Mode (Restart with Shift held down). - using Ctrl Click to open the ARDAgent.app package contents.
This seemed to sort it all out for me.
I guess people need to look in their Disk Utility Repair Permissions reports and see if any esoteric system files have been goosed by the update and see if they can get them back - although if you don't know what you are doing this could make things worse......
Anyway I DO have questions:
If this hadn't of worked:
1) Would reinstalling Snow Leopard from disks have upset my preferences, installs of Logic and Audio drivers and 3rd party application installs and the rest?
- the main stressor when this happens is not trying to lose the whole day.
2) Is there a way of just restoring the System from a Time Machine Backup or a SuperDuper clone or do you have to restore the whole state of the entire Hard Drive?

Thanks for listening.The fact that you saw no glitches while running Logic before applying the update means almost nothing because that uses only a small subset of system resources. Far more significant is that Safe Mode restored some missing functionality: because it disables non-essential items like user fonts, third party drivers, & so on, it points to problems in those areas.
Equally significant, the fact that there are relatively few reports of post-update problems among the several million Snow Leopard users points away from the update itself as the cause of your problems.
Separate & apart from that, it so happens that I'm a sound engineer/system designer/board operator with nearly 40 years of professional touring experience. FWIW, I never have & never will update the software of any system I must rely on professionally (whether it is running on a Mac, a PC, or dedicated hardware) unless & until I can thoroughly test it first and I have a trustworthy backup/recursion strategy to fall back on in case of problems.
I strongly suggest you learn from your unpleasant experience & do the same. I have had far fewer problems with Macs than with PC's, but nothing is 100% reliable to begin with. Changing the OS software part way through the tour is just asking for trouble, no matter how reliable that has been in the past. Even if the budget allows for nothing better than a stack of burned CD's & a couple of consumer grade CD players, no professional tour can afford to be without some fallback strategy in place. That should be self-evident & require no warning from Apple or anybody else. -
I have been trying to run the Software Update once prompted when opening programs like iTunes and iPhoto, the updater will open, start its search for new updates and then halfway through the search the program will quit unexpectedly. I've used both options, to relaunch program, and send problem report, but again the program never works. I've also trashed both preference files for the software updater and restarted the computer with no effect. Posted below is the crash log that's been submitted in the problem report. How I fixed my authorization problem
There have been many posts on the authorization problem that has cropped up since the latest update of iTunes, and there doesn't seem to be universal cure. I fought it myself for a couple of weeks, and recently fixed it on my PowerBook and thought I would share it with others.
The common theme here seems to be that it affects people who have had more than one account in iTunes. For the record, I have NEVER purchased music from the iTMS using a different account, so I was confused as to why this was happening to me.
I have two Macs in play here: an older eMac at home and a PowerBook G4. My initial iTunes library started on the eMac, and then I moved it to my PowerBook a little over a year ago when I bought it. I purchased music from the iTMS on both Macs, using the exact same account.
When I upgraded iTunes on my PowerBook, I reauthorized using my only account, and the music that I had purchased since I transfered my library worked just fine. The music that I had purchased on my eMac simply would not authorize!
It dawned on me yesterday that I setup a .mac account on my PowerBook several months ago, although I never used it in the iTMS and I never used it on the eMac at home. I also realized that I had NOT run iTunes on the eMac since the most recent upgrade.
I installed the iTunes upgrade on my eMac, and proceeded to authorize it with my only known iTMS account. No issues, and all purchased music was auhtorized, including songs that would not play on my PowerBook.
On my PowerBook, I decided to authorize using my .mac username and password, even though I have NEVER used it to purchase music. I didn't even own that account when the music files in question were purchased. As I suspected though, the authorization went through and I can now play all of my purchased music from iTMS.
When I try to step through this logically, it makes my head hurt. There is definitely a major problem with Apple's DRM authorization relationship somewhere, as there should be no reason at ALL for any of my music to require my .mac account.
I don't know if this will help anyone, but if you're struggling with it and you have a .mac account, give it a shot and it might work.The fact that you saw no glitches while running Logic before applying the update means almost nothing because that uses only a small subset of system resources. Far more significant is that Safe Mode restored some missing functionality: because it disables non-essential items like user fonts, third party drivers, & so on, it points to problems in those areas.
Equally significant, the fact that there are relatively few reports of post-update problems among the several million Snow Leopard users points away from the update itself as the cause of your problems.
Separate & apart from that, it so happens that I'm a sound engineer/system designer/board operator with nearly 40 years of professional touring experience. FWIW, I never have & never will update the software of any system I must rely on professionally (whether it is running on a Mac, a PC, or dedicated hardware) unless & until I can thoroughly test it first and I have a trustworthy backup/recursion strategy to fall back on in case of problems.
I strongly suggest you learn from your unpleasant experience & do the same. I have had far fewer problems with Macs than with PC's, but nothing is 100% reliable to begin with. Changing the OS software part way through the tour is just asking for trouble, no matter how reliable that has been in the past. Even if the budget allows for nothing better than a stack of burned CD's & a couple of consumer grade CD players, no professional tour can afford to be without some fallback strategy in place. That should be self-evident & require no warning from Apple or anybody else. -
How I fixed my conection problem
Here's my setup:
Wireless IP (Motorola canopy)
The connection comes into the house as ethernet (I'm conected wirelessly to the ISP's router and it's using DHCP
That's pluged into an airport express that acts as a bridge to the ISP's router
iMac G4 wireless
Windows xp notebook wireless using a Netgear PCMCIA card
Son's XP desktop using a DLink internal wireless card
Symptoms:
This worked but after several hours the airport express wouls stop forwarding the new DHCP info. The green light was On but I could not connect to the internet wirelessly.
Here's how I fixed it:
I turned off ipv6 in the network settings. I had it set to Automatic. When I turned it off It has worked like it is suposed to.

Gingerbread Software Update Problems
I am currently overseas with my Incredible 2 and I'm trying to download the gingerbread update via wifi on roaming. When I go into the settings menu and the software update submenu, I see the check now button, but it's blacked out making it unclickable. My phone isn't rooted or anything, but I do have my SIM slot unlocked through Verizon so that I can use a local SIM when I'm out of the country.
Just trying to figure out how I could get the Gingerbread update. If anyone has the same problems and found a way to fix it, please help me out.Ann154 wrote:

6220 Classic: Ovi Suite Software Update problems
Hello everyone,
I am trying to update the firmware of a 6220 Classic via Ovi Suite (2.1.1.1). I connected the phone, and started the software update process. I was informed the current firmaware version is 03.23, and that version 5.15 is available. I proceeded downloading the (148mb) firmware update.
After that the update process started, and I was informed to ignore all USB connection notifications. Notifications like "Nokia Flash Parent detected" were displayed with one informing me that the driver for one of these "devices" failed to install.
I then got the "Device recovery" error, stating that Ovi Suite lost connection with my device, and presented me with 4 steps to follow to "help reconnect your device". None of this helped, and I kept on getting the same error. Now I am lost. The 5.15 update is also not available OTA. Luckily the phone was not bricked in the process, and is still working fine at version level 3.23
Any ideas on how to get Ovi Suite to install the update? My system specs: Windows XP Pro SP3 with latest fixes/updates.
Thank you.I always use Ovi Suite to update 3 phone (5310, 5610, 5800), no problems so far. However once caveat on s60 phone like yours is that when problems like this occur, you could try to update without a memory card inserted. If that fails, hard reset the phone and update the blank phone (back up first before resetting of course). If that still fails, take it to a Nokia Care Center.
