I have a 4th generation iPod shuffle. When i use ear buds with it, the sound will be fine at first, but after a few days the sound will start to get distorted. If I mess with the ear buds for a little I can fix the sound for a few seconds. After a while the ear buds will stop working with the iPod all together. If I buy a new pair of ear buds the whole thing starts all over again. The ear buds work fine on my PC regardless of how well they work on my iPod and when I restore my iPod it's work fine for few minutes. Any suggestions?

How to mute sound for app?

Is there a way to mute sound for one particular app? In windows, you can do this from the volume control. It list each app and you can control volume there. I don't see a way to do this in Windows.
Particularly in gotomeeting, there isn't any mute available. Safari is the same way.

Cannot fix sound for Headphones

I am having multiple different problems with all headphones that I plug into my computer (non USB). On my macbook pro, system preferences will show it as an option for sound
However, most of the time, the headphones at first will not play. The internal speakers will not play either. When I try to change the sound of the headphones, it will also give me this symbol instead of the symbol normally given when sound is changed.
After 30 minutes to an hour, this problem is sorted out just by waiting, however, until then, sound doesn't work. This problem has been occurring for a couple of months. I have tried multiple different sets of headphones and the headphones work when plugged into my phone or any other computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Try resetting the PRAM:
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Option, Command (⌘), P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on your Mac.
Immediately press and hold the Option-Command-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears. Continue holding the keys down until your Mac restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

How to enable CMSS in Creative MediaSource for Sound Blaster Audigy LS series
Go Start, All Programs, Creative, Creative MediaSource, and click on the Creative MediaSource Player or the Creative MediaSource Organizer.
Click on the EAX button to enable EAX. The button should now be highlighted in green.
Next, click on the little buttons next to the EAX button, which will bring up the Creative EAX Console.
In the EAX Console, check the CMSS 3D tab, then check the box next to Enable CMSS 3D.
Select ether CMSS or Stereo Surround and close the EAX Console.
You can also open the EAX Console by clicking Start, All Programs, Creative Audigy LS, EAX Console.
How to turn CMSS on and off with the Sound Blaster Extigy?
Using Remote Center: Press the CMSS button to toggle on and off. Ensure that speaker settings are set to 4., 5. or Auto.
Using Play Center: In the Play Center mini-view, expand the right hand panel and click on CMSS. Choose On or Off. Ensure that speaker settings are at 4., 5. or Auto.

If you are listening to stereo content like MP3's or CD's and you would like the sound to be played over your surround sound speaker system, you can enable CMSS 3D on your X-Fi card. If you are playing computer games, the X-Fi's Virtual 3D via CMSS gives a highly realistic surround sound over headphones.
It is important to remember that if you do wish to play a 5. encoded file like Dolby or DTS soundtracks, you will need to turn CMSS off. Otherwise you might not receive each discreet channel.
Please select the mode: (More information about changing the Mode).
Entertainment mode
In Entertainment mode, select the 3D button.

How to fix sound cracking in my notebook ?

Product name and number:- HP Pavilion dm4-1162us
OS:- Windows 7 64-bit
Installed new audio drivers, but still facing sound cracking problem in my PC.

I would check to see if you have a BIOS update available for install. Then I would perform a hard reset and test it. Try plugging headphones in and see if they made the cracking sound. If not, it could simply be a hardware problem with the speakers or speaker wiring.
To Perform A Hard Reset
Shut down the computer by going to the Start menu and selecting shut down. (If you have no display, hold the power button down for 5 seconds); (if the computer doesn't power on, move to the next step)
Disconnect the AC Adapter from the notebook.
Remove the battery from the bottom of the notebook. There will be a switch/button to eject the battery.
Wait at least 1 minute with all power sources disconnected.
Re-insert the battery and reconnect the AC Adapter and then attempt to power on the notebook.

So I made an album cover for a song that is not yet on iTunes and it's not the correct size. I've tried resizing it and everything and I just can't seem to fix it. It doesn't show up correctly on my iPod either so please help! Here's a picture of what I'm talking about, in the middle row there's a difference between the two covers.

If the photo is not square, iTunes will leave extra space.
Before adding it to iTunes, use Picasa, PictureIt, or some other photo editor to crop it to a square shape.

How to fix sound delay in adobe air apps?

I am working on this drummer game where the user has to repeat what he listens by tapping on the thouchscreen, but there´s a noticeable delay on Android and iOS. The same game I had it working fine on AS2 for PCs. I don´t know whats the problem in adobe air apps. I hoe someone can help me.

Unfortunately, I do not own an iOS device and from my understanding, you have to have a developer account just to be able to test apps on your device, even if you have no intention of ever publishing something on the store. Correct me if Im wrong on that, but everything I have seen is that the only way to test apps without a developer account is to have a jailbroken device.
I have been building an audiobook player on and off for a while now and tested it on a Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, and Nexus 5 in addition to my Moto X. None of those ever experienced any noticeable delays in playback. That is why I was wondering if it is a per device issue. Or it could be that I have just always used vanilla (or extremely close to it) Google Android devices. I understand that the devices I have tested with are most likely in a very low percentage of active devices used aside from the Moto X. I was basically just wanting to jump in to provide my notes on the issue, the device I tested with, and my experience.

How to fix pdfmaker for excel on windows 8?

My office upgraded our computers to windows 8. My adobe acrobat works fine but the pdfmaker on the excel is not working. I looked on the troubleshoot on adobe and it recommended to check addin. I checked it and it still will not add to excel. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help would be great. Thanks.

What is the version of Acrobat and MS Office do you have?
Make sure the the Acrobat is updated to its latest version. Go to Help -> Check for updates.
If nothing works, then try repairing Acrobat via Help -> Repair Acrobat Installation.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar.
