How to fix? Unable to Preview Folio or Overlays

Hi,
I searched for an answer that might already exist and alas, none, so I hope someone can shed some DPS light.
I've triple-checked for updates to the DPS tools, InDesign, Adobe Air, etc. (I use the creative cloud if that matters) and I'm as current as I am typing this ... )
When I open an InDesign file, I cannot get anything to preview within InDesign. I've tried signing in and still no luck. I thought maybe my files might be corrupted but no such luck. Even starting a new document = no results.
Any ideas? I'm in the middle of teaching students how to complete this workflow to be able to at least share ... It would be nice if I could explain what is happening. Maybe they are lucky and aren't having problems their professor is having

Hi Bob et al.
I noticed that there was a content viewer window but the window was locked/frozen. Really bizarre.
I figured out a solution. (yay me after a few choice words ...)
Basically I had to uninstall each CS6 Application via the uninstaller within each app folder and re-install each application via the Adobe Application Manager. I probably could have just uninstalled InDesign but wanted to make sure there were no conflicts so went to the trouble. (Troubleshooting websites teaches you a thing or two about how to find bugs.)
The quirk is that even though you uninstall, the Adobe Application Manager says that the application is still installed when in fact, it is not. So I had to sign out, then sign back in for the Manager to update itself.
Anyway. re-installing InDesign, then re-installing the DPS tools seemed to resolve the issue. I did have to re-do all the overlays (a small price to pay I guess) ...
So, if anyone else has this trouble, this could be a place to start.
Whew. And Bob, thanks again for the speedy reply. That kind of response beats a lot of other forums I've posted in.

Usually Acrobat is looking for the settings files as I recall. The problem is typically that they are located in a folder to which you as a user do not have access. You can open Distiller and see if you have access to the settings files there. You may either need to set the access to the folder where the files are located, or copy them to a new location and activate them in Distiller. Then go to the printer properties and select your default settings. At least this is what I would try.

When I upgraded to Mavericks the cover flow or the preview pane in finder don't show a thumbnail of an uncompressed quicktime movie. I use this to search for the correct clip so it was very useful in prior versions of OS X but appears to be left off in Mavericks. If anyone knows a work around I would appreciate it since I work with thousands of video clips. To click each one seems very tedious.
Also, when I click on an uncompressed video, quicktime "converts" the video to some different format. Why doesn't it just play the video instead of converting? Is there a way to stop this? I hate have to say - no I don't want to save this file.
Arrgh!

Does anyone in the community have insite into this issue (same with animation compressed QT's). Is this just the way it is moving forward (a terrible thing) or is it a bug that will be fixed in the near future. Apples silince on if this is a "feature" or a "bug" is frustrating.

Unable to preview folios in Adobe Content viewer using Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (SM-T210)

Hi,
I am using Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (SM-T210) Android Version 4.1.2 .The folios were not displayed and I only get a black screen, despite the fact that I was able to download the Adobe Content Viewer latest android version (3.3.0.0.87854), the Android device was detected by Adobe CC, able to load the folio into the device. I tried re-installing the app, but it did not work.
It may also help to mention that I can't view the DPS Tips App files, also. I was able to download the app and its documents (folio basics, etc.), But the same black screen is displayed when I try to read them.
Are there any programs that I have to download for it to work? Please help.

Our testers looked at this and saw the same problem. Updating the OS firmware of the Galaxy Tab 3 resolved the issue.

Is your Device Jailbroken? Not that anyone would admit to it publically, but I think that is the root of your problem. Jailbroken apps like AppCake will cause problems. Good luck.

I recently updated my HP laptop's OS from WIndows8 to WIndows8.1. When I went attempted to open Lightroom5 I got the following message:

my iphone went into recovery mode for some reason and is unable to be restored. it wont turn on and when plugged into a charger it shows a usb and itunes symbol. so i plugged it into my mac and connected to itunes then itunes said it has detected a phone in recovery mode and needs to be restored. so it goes through the restoration process for a couple minutes or so then stops and says itunes is unable to restore because an unknown error occurred (2001) or (2006) and other times i try it says its unable to restore because itunes cant detect the device... any ideas how to fix this?

If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve the issue, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604. If the issue persists, it may be related to conflicting security software.
