Anyways when I go to it theres a drop-down list and you select the one you want and I know the number next to it identifies the model but the thing is they don't have my model listed so my main question is, what version eg. 2.1.1. or 2.2.1 etc. etc. etc. etc. will work with my model of ipod touch which is the 2g Model A1288?
Does anybody know? Does it work with any firmware thats for 2G ipod touches or do i have to get firmware thats model specific?

ive had this ipod 4g for about 6 months. probably 2 months ago i put my ipod down on my bed (working perfectly fine, DID NOT DROP IT) then came back 5 minutes later and my home button was unresponsive, and will not work at all. ive been using the assistive touch as a home button sinse then but im really tired of it and it slows my ipod down a lot. could anyone please tell me how i can fix it myself?      My iPod touch is always recognized by my Vista Box...using the same USB cable and port my wife's nano isn't detected anymore. Since Vista can't see the nano iTunes can't see it either. When I try my wife's nano I get the message:
     "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows doesn't recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message"
     I thought her nano wasn't charged enough but I've charged it for hours and this doesn't make a difference. It used to synch like my ipod touch but it stopped working about a week ago. My wife's nano still holds songs and works it just can't be recognized by Windows. I even checked if the Apple Mobile Device app was running and it was and I stopped it and restarted it. Didn't make any difference. Any ideas?
