How to fix Windows 8.1 "limited access" internet?

I have just upgraded to Windows 8.1 (NOT preview) from Windows 8 a few days ago and now the internet completely doesn't work on my Asus X550CC series notebook. It displays "limited access" and sometimes the internet bars has no indication of
a limited access. Internet was fully functional before I upgraded my notebook. Internet broswers, IE, Firefox and Chrome and Windows applications don't work. There's nothing wrong with my wireless internet because it works perfectly on other computers and
internet devices. Please help, this internet problem is really causing inconveniences! What can I do to fix this problem? Thanks.

I've already read that article and it has not helped me with my problem.
I've done a Windows Connection Diagnostics test and says it has detected problems that were not able to be fixed automatically:
"Problem with wireless adapter or access point" and
"Your computer appears to be currently configured, but the device or resource (www.microsoft.com) is not
responding" What does all this mean anyway?
I was advised to reinstall my laptop NIC driver by AsusTek and hopefully that'll resolve my problem, I'll let you know.

When I opened my computer, I realised I had internet access and was so happy, soon finding out it only lasted for 15 mins and then dropped completely and wouldn't come back. The next day, I went on to see if
it'll work again and it did! I quickly checked if there was a Windows Update and there was, updated and internet is back and running smoothly, fixing my "limited access" issue.

MSI GT70 with Limited Access Internet Problem

Hi I'm using MSI GT70-0ND
everything working fine but yesterday I did upgrade window 8 ---> 8.1 and Ethernet Lan still working. anyway when I'm using wifi i can't it say limited access (before I changed it to window 8.1 i can use wifi) so I refresh my notebook to turn window 8.0 again hope can solve this problem
but this change makes problem because I can't use internet lan and wifi too
the way i did(but it can't be solved)
1.uninstall killer network
2.restart
3.try use cleaning killer x64
4.restart and then
5.install bigfootkiller network( i try all firmware but it still problem)
i don't know how to do it (and this icon also have yellow mark) so what i should do

How can we allow internal users to access internet through ASA firewall?

Hello,
I am new to security track, i have been asked to setup lab and allow users from inside firewall to access internet. here is my lab setup
PC -> switch 1 (layer2) -> (inside) ASA (outside) -> switch 2 (Layer2) -> Router
does switch 2 port needs internet access through router?
what configuration required on ASA to allow users behind the firewall to access internet?
any help on this would be much appreciated.

Okay , can you clarify on this for me. Are you able to ping the internet from the ASA outside interface ?
Just try something like this:-
ping 4.2.2.2 .. Does this work ?
If this does not work , then i think the ASA even is not able to get to the internet and that would be a problem on the router.
Also , internet from Switch 2 is not a requirement as that is only a Layer 2 device.
You can assign the ISP allocated address on the PC , connect it to the Switch 2 port and then try to ping something on the internet or surf internet and i think that should work.

By default, a properly configured Guest network on the AirPort Extreme only allows network clients to access the Internet. No access to the "main" network's resources should be available.
This is assuming that the AirPort Extreme is the only or "main" router in your current network configuration.

I fixed this issue when I realised I had set a passoword many months ago when I was in Windows 8.1 If you found that your BIOS is locked, use a password you've used for other 'important' things. I have connected an airport express to my BT home hub and created a new Wi-Fi network. I have also connected a Canon MP550 series printer to the express which I can access to print from my macboon pro. However I am unable to print from my Windows 7 SP1 laptop even if I connect using the same Wi-Fi network. Have used Bonjour and it installs the printer but still cannot print from my Win7 laptop. Any suggestions why is it happening?

How to fix MiFi 2200 that VZ Access Mgr can't find (no status light)?

I have a new Verizon MiFi 2200 I am trying to get running. VZAM software was downloaded successfully. Windows (XP SP3) Device Manager recognizes the phone as a modem when I plug it into the USB. It shows the drivers were installed. If I press the master reset with a paper clip, device manager drops the the modem out, and then picks it up again right away. Unfortunately, the windows modem query does not get an answer back. And, VZAM software doesn't find it as a device either.
I have a solid green power light. But, there status/activity light won't come on. Pressing the power light didn't fix it. Pressing the master reset didn't fix it, either.
I reinstalled the VZAM software. I tried another laptop running Windows 7 - still no communication. VZAM downloaded the firmware update. When it tried to install it, it could could not write it into the MiFi.
The Verizon tech service phone people tried to tell me I need to buy service first, before the computer software can communicate with the WiFi, but that is NOT what the manual says. It sounds like a hardware issue to me.
So, any highly experienced people ---- shall I send this boat anchor back, or do you have suggestions for another route I can go???

I got partway. I went to a VZW store and they got me a phone number, linked to the inherent device number. Then, it became apprarent that the device is defective. My supplier is sending out a new one, I'll be travelling a lot, and won't be there to receive it for a while, then back on the road again. I'll check back in when this gets resolved,

How to fix windows 7 startup failure? Windows startup repair cannot help

Recently, my laptop have problem with the startup and unfortunately it is showing crash dump error as well.
This is the error mesage for startup issues: c000021a fatal system error, intial session process or system process terminate
and this is error message for crash dump: STOP: 0x0000000A (0xFFFFF80003BEDE60, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000008, 0xFFFFF80003BEDE60)
So, when i start my laptop it comes up with the startup c000021a fatal system error. I tried to go to startup repair and chose the "Last Known Good Configuration (advanced)" after that it shown system crash dump error message.
Unfortunately, I did not make the restore point. I want to reinstall my windows but it cant boot from CD/DVD due to startup failure. I already choose the booting sequence to CD/DVD as first sequences but it still does not work.
Anyone can help me with this issues?

1. What changes have you made before this issue?
2. Do you receive the same error message when we use the normal boot, safe mode and Last Known Good Configuration? If no please share it with us.
3. What error messages do you receive when we try to boot from CD/DVD?
We could try to use the USB driver to performance the system restore or reinstall.

How do I allow other users limited access to iPhoto?

I am seeking to create other user accounts for my Mac that will allow my wife and my 8 year old to view photos in iPhoto but will not allow them to screw it up (i.e., will not allow them to edit or delete any photos, etc.). Is there a way that I can give them access to view only? Thanks.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP ENVY dv7 Notebook and getting a screen on startup at 0%. Try performing a hard reset. When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices, and remove memory cards from the card reader slot. Disconnect all non-essential devices. If that does not help try to turn on the computer you start to press F11 repeatedly till the menu opens. You can do a system restore.
