How to flash an HP 4320t

Good afternoon.  We own a few HP 4320t thin clients.  Some of them have the flash drive just about full.  I read the owner's manual and followed the instructions to capture the image from one of the machines that has most of the flash drive still empty.  After I captured the image on a 16Gig thumb drive, the machine becomes useless.  I then attempted to boot it with the thumb drive inserted into one of the USB ports.
The machine goes through all the steps to re-flash the memory.  Once the process is over, the machine puts up a message stating to pull the thumb drive out and to press the "S" to shutdown the computer.  Then when I turn the machine back on, it goes through applying system settings.   After a few minutes, I get an error that reads: "Windows could not parse or process the unattended answer file for the pass [Specialized].  The settings specified in the answer file cannot be applied.
The error was detected while processing settings for component [Microsoft.Windows-Shell-Setup].  Has anyone else experienced this problem? and if so, how can I get beyond it?  I have a few machines that I would like to re-image using
the thumb drive.
TIA
Javier

    How to Flash MSI Guides.
There are different ways to flash the bios but to keep things simple will concentrate on the MSI Official methods :-
    1) Award Flash BIOS Procedure 98/ME
This method assumes access to hd formatted using FAT32 & therefore readable by DOS.
    2) Flashing the BIOS for Users using NON FAT file system
For use with Linux based & NTFS File systems - HD Not readable from DOS.  Using this procedure the  the files are copied to the virtual drive before running the flash utility. So the flash effectively is all done in memory.
This will be the method used by the majority of us. So:-
Follow the instructions in the last link (Thanks Bas)
The details below are additional checks/notes referring to the steps in Bas's guide, which may be useful.
    Essential
    2) Know Your model number  - Is of increased Importance for NEO4 users - We have already seen instances of this.
5-1) Ensure you have a Boot Floppy with CD suport (this creates the Virtual drive used in the process) If you haven't got such
a boot disc see BootrDisc.com link in Rescources.
5-2) B4 booting floppy - Enter Bios & Load Optimised Defaults - To ensure that bios is returned to stock & any overclocking is
    turned off.
    7) If you miss the ramdrive letter the last DOS message will show your CD drive letter. The Ramdrive is the letter preceeding
the CD Drive. EG CD = D Ramdrive = C
Optional - Gives better control of procedure
    11) Use of Switch command options with AWFL833C.EXE /py/sn/wb/cc/cd/cp/r TargetBios.file
Personnaly I use the switches as does Syar :-
    Per Syar2003 Iv'e always used :
    AWFL833D W7030NMS.xxx /py/sn/wb/cc/cd/cp/r
    or
    AWFL833D W7030NMS.xxx /py/sn/wb/cc/cd/cp/f/r
And a hard reset with jumper when done .
For a more detailed explanation of switches see :-
    Syar's Bios Switch Explained
    or Syar's Bios Collection - Flashing.txt
See Also Using a Batch File to Automate bios flash
    12) after flash , enter Bios & load optimized defaults , then save + exit with no other change .
That way you have a fresh system with a fresh non problematic dmi-pool and user settings .
After this Enter Bios & Re-enter your custom settings.
From Syar - Which one do I do first?
Thanks to Bas & Syar for the majority of info in this guide

    FLASH PREPARATION
Always Load Optimised defaults & Save b4 flashing - NEVER FLASH When running an OC or Unstable.
If you need to flash & are worried about stability - run with a single module & test it it memtest 1st.
    FLASH METHODS
    1) Winflash (Syar2003) -
Winflash is safe to use if your windows and pc is stable .
How to get it Download & install MSI Live Update. Winflash is located "C:\Program Files\MSI\Live Update 3\FlashUty\Award
And as with dos flash reset bios and any overclocking to "load optimized bios default" + save, before and after flashing.
After winflash is finished it ask if you want to reboot - answer no , and shutdown (turn off) windows/pc instead .
After that disconnect the PSU's AC and reset the cmos with the jumper on the board .
This is how I use it , - safest way .
Note ! Place checkmarks on bootblock / dmi area /update all /reset cmos
    Using Winflash - Syar2003's GuideWinflash
    2)  MSI Guides for flashing using a floppy
2 Flavours depending on OS the majority of us use the 2nd as dos floppies can't read a NTDS partition.

  • How to flash vBIOS GX60 Destroyer

I have a problem with my gx60 and I think it's a VBios bug, also I found the MSI tutorial to flash the vbios with DOS but when I try to execute the fvbios.bat, it says atiflash.exe -p 0 -f wrong command or file, and if I try to execute atiflash.exe it shows me the commands and options of that exe, so I couldn't flash the vBios.
So if someone knows how to flash the vBios please help.

There are few others talk about once they update the vbios, the memory clock is downclocking from 1250 to 900, so I think you shouldn't update your vbios since the problem doesn't really related to the vbios.

  • How does Flash Player determine if TLS is available?

In ActionScript, there is a setting called "flash.system.Capabilities.hasTLS" that determines whether or not the Flash Player can make native SSL/TLS-based connections.  The definition of this property says " Specifies whether the system supports native SSL sockets through NetConnection (true) or does not (false)."
How does Flash determine whether this property is true or false?  Is the value passed to the Flash player by the browser?  Does Flash figure it out from the environment?  If so, how?

A faster hard drive connection is available through your Thunderbolt port.  See what you can connect via Sonnet's adapter:
    http://www.sonnettech.com/product/echoexpresscard34thunderbolt.html
An eSATA or Thunderbolt hard drive would probably be at least faster than the internal drive, and an external SSD may be cheaper than an internal for your notebook, and even faster.

Will alienate? They've already alienated users a long time
ago. That isn't the point, though, because it doesn't matter if
users are alienated, it only matters if the users need flash.
The only thing that could make flash player better is open
source. I don't see why they don't do it. They make money on the
authoring tool, not the player. All of my Linux machines are ppc
and x86_64, no flash there. I also don't have flash on my PDA, a
Palm T|X. If the player was open sourced, people would stop
complaining about how much flash sucks -- because, right now, there
are very serious, legitimate, complaints against it.
Anyway, for now I'm hoping that SVG matures quickly.
Although, I"m sure that once Adobe sees that train coming, they
will extend Flash (dev.) to export SVG movies containing embedded
binary data that can only play with their binary plugin.

  • What we need - a guide on how to flash bios, setup bios, and raid

Ok, a topic I see very often on many forums, and several times here, is the following; How to flash bios, how to setup the bios settings, and how to setup the raid array, and then setup the bios to boot from the raid array. Could we perhaps pull our heads togheter and write a detailed guide on these three topics, taking into account how to do it on the most used (commonly written about) MSI boards? and perhaps put as a sticky?
It would help many novice users trying to deal with these problems. I am willing to write on the subject of flashing bios on the MSI K8N SLI Platinum and how to install a Bios Saviour.

  • GTX 580 Twin Frozr II O/C - confused by bios version number, and how to flash

Hi, my first post here. But I've been reading a bit here. Still, I get confused by this whole vga bios thing, version numbers and how to flash... Ok, so here's my situation:
I have two PC's. Both with one MSI Twin Frozr II O/C GTX 580 card inside. It seems to me that both are working according to specifications, GPU-Z reports:
GPU clock 800 Mhz, Memory 1024 Mhz, Shader 1600 Mhz for the borth of them.
Now, one of them seems not to be totally stable (this is the newest I bought a few days ago). It locks up/crashes in some games. The other seems ok, I've been having that one for a while. Could this be a GPU core voltage problem? GPU-Z reports for the both of them:
    VDDC 0.955 v
I've tried running MSI afterburner, changing core voltage to 1025, and in afterburner settings enable "Force constant voltage". Still, GPU-Z, which I keep running at the same time, still reports only 0.955. I thought this setting in Afterburner would change voltage to 1.025?  This situation is for both the old one and the new one.
    Now to the Bios "problem".
The newest card (the not so stable one) reports through GPU-Z: Bios Version 70.10.20.00.01
The oldest (stable) card: Bios Version 70.10.17.00.01
So... which one has the newest bios? Seems to me it is the newest card.
BUT - when running MSI Live Update 5 (newest version) it says for both the cards that they have the the newest bios version, and there's no need to upgrade??
SO - I go to the MSI webpage: http://no.msi.com/product/vga/N580GTX-Twin-Frozr-II-OC.html#?div=BIOS  to download the newest bios manually, just in case.. But there it gets more confusing. The Bios version found there is :NV255MS.104(.zip).
And also, on that page I can not find how to use that file. Extracting it just gives me the file NV255MS.104    and no extension.
So, which bios is the newest one? 70.10.20.00.01  (the highest number, in the new card, but not stable in some games), 70.10.17.00.01 (in my old card, but seems stable in the games I've tried), or NV255.104  (which I don't know how to use).
I've flashed my main board bios many times over the years in various set ups, the bios on two different SSD disks and so on.. never had a problem with that, or finding out if I have the correct bios, how to do it and so on.
Maybe I'm stupid, but this MSI Twin Frozr II O/C GTX 580 bios thing confuses me a lot... So, how do I solve this situation?

I am also interested in the answer as I have 2 MSI N580GTX-M2D15D5/OC cards. I can find the latest BIOS file "NV801MS.KG4.zip" and know the version is "KG4". But how do you relate this to the current BIOS version Afterburner or GPU-Z provides? The version they each provide is "70.10.17.00.01" for both cards. The only other way to determine if they are up to date is to install and run MSI Live Update. MSI Live Update responds that they are up to date with no current version or online version information on the Live Update tab. At least the information on the Home tab states the same VGA BIOS version as GPU-Z and Afterburner. I can can only assume that the BIOS is updated by using MSI Live Update.
Also just for the additional information GPU-Z displays my VDDC as 1.039 briefly then 0.995 constantly when switching between cards. I actually have the cards set to 1.050 with Afterburner to be stable when running Crysis 2 DX11 updates.

  • How is Flash Sites done - Pages as Frames?

i am wondering how are flash web sites done? having frames to act as pages? is that the best way?

Ouch, a full Flash website with only code and dynamicaly builded is quite a complex matter.
There is for sure a tutorial out there... for this, and another one for that, and so on. What I'm saying is that, it is a matter of many different bits of "areas of knowledge".
When someone dwelves for the first time into making a professional full Flash website, he discovers many kinds of new difficulty regarding what first seems to be small details.
However, most flashers, (I guess...), eventualy starts to dwelve that way one day or another, because some tricks can only be done with code...
And yes, you can dynamicaly build a form in Flash. Usualy, for my part, I will design it in Flash, on the scene, and then make the code according to the layout. For sending the data to PHP or MySQL, that should be done with code anyway. But you are right, forms are complex because of the many different kinds of fields and menus and buttons (depending of the form).
Many will use some parts of the website as predone MovieClips (like forms), inside a full coded website. There is not a one-way-only to make a full flash.
Google for those bits you want (like forms), and you will find many a tutorial.
