How to flash GSM with a Mac?

Hello.
I would like to upgrade the firmware of my new SLVR, but did not find any software to do it. I found some windows compatible utilities like RSD lite or PST, but none OS based.
How to proceed?
Thx.
Note: this is not especially related to iSync, but to the GSM/Mac synchronisation in general. I found this topic the closer one to my request.

No answer.

  • How to mirror airplay with a mac os 10.5.8

    Hi everyone,
First, please excuse my english that may be low (I'm french...)
I've recently bought an Apple TV. But I have some trouble with it...
First the salesperson told me I could use the airplay mirror with any ios device, but I've figured out that it wasn't possible with a Iphone 4...
Then I wanted to use the mirror thing with my Macbook, but also found myself in trouble...Not working because of airplay or airserver isn't suitable for mac os 10.5.8.
I'm trying to install Snow Leopard on my mac, but can find an installation cd... Does anyone know how I could work this out ?
Any idea where I could find the sl cd ? Or how could I use the airplay mirror with my mac ?
    Thank you guys !

In an ARS Technica review of AirParrot, they had this to say; "AirParrot runs on the latest version of Snow Leopard (10.6.8), as well as Lion (10.7.x) and Mountain Lion (10.8). And, it runs on any Intel-based Mac (though the older the hardware, the more it will struggle to stream at an acceptable frame rate). On my 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo MacBook Air, video was just slightly choppy."
The reason they give for the choppiness was; "The reason, we discovered, is that the feature relies on Intel's QuickSync hardware-accelerated video compression technology. QuickSync is a feature of the integrated graphics built into Intel's Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge series processors."

  • Upgrading from old Mac to new- how to sync iPhone with new Mac?

    Hi all,
My dad is upgrading from an old iBook to a nice new iMac. He has spent quite a few days tweaking his new iMac and importing old files and folders. The one thing we haven't yet done, though, is iTunes. He has an iBook G3 that he syncs his iPhone with, and he wants to be able to "move" his whole iTunes setup to the new iMac so that it picks up right where the iBook left off, without needing to reset the iPhone.
One thing to keep in mind is that the iBook had a tiny hard drive and thus the music files are actually on an external hard drive. I was wondering how to go about this feat. I read that using Migration Assistant deletes everything off the new Mac, so that's not an option at this point. Thanks for the help!

If you had use Migration Assistant to start with it would have been easier.

  • How do Dual Monitor with my Mac Book Pro (Boot camped with Windows 8) through my mini display port VIA Thunderbolt to a iMac (Model Mid 2011)?

So I have a Mac Book Pro with a bootcamp Windows 8. I dual monitor on the Mac side with my Mid 2011 iMac through my mini display port via thunder bolt cable. In my perfect world, I would be able to switch to the Windows side and have the iMac mirror or extend my windows display for my gaming pleasure, etc. I'm not sure if it's just a simple driver or that it cannot be done. Please help. Thanks.

  • How to sync iPhone with new Mac without losing all my iTunes?

I have recently got a new MacBook after my old one crashed... but I have been told that anything not bought would be lost when I sync my iPhone with my new Mac... I have already transferred the bought songs etc... is there a way (cheap or free if possible!) to transfer my music and videos to my iTunes library on my Mac?
    Thank you very much!

    Hi,
    Option 1:
If you have purchased a new Mac from an Local Apple store, I'd advise you to bring in your old computer along with your new one in, and have them assist you on transferring. (Assuming your computer doesn't not even power up)
    Option 2:
If your computer can be powered up (seeing the Apple Logo), and your hard drive is fine, then you can connect the two computers by using a Firewire cable, and then transfer the music files by drag and drop.
         http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1661
    Option 3:
There are 3rd party software that you may purchase used to extract music from your iPhone, but it will have to be done at your own risk.  You may Google for extracting music from iPhone for a start.

  • How to go wireless with original Mac Mini

I bought a Mac Mini when it originally came out and at the time had no reason to get Airport installed, being that it was an extra $75 or so that I didn't have at the time.
I am now moving in with some friends, all PC users, who share a wireless network with the folks that live below them. My only option at this new home for connecting to the internet is to go wireless.
I'm wondering if this is even possible with the earliest versions of the Mac Mini and if so, what exactly do I need to do? I've read so many conflicting suggestions, such as USB Sticks, Ethernet options, etc. but no one seems to have had the sure fire way.
    Help. Please

There is a complete Airport/Bluetooth upgrade kit for the original G4 minis, but of course it's not for general resale since there are "no user serviceable parts inside". You should be able to get your local Apple authorized service provider to obtain and fit the kit for you.
Alternatively, there are retailers I have seen advertise the kits for sale to the public, you you can try searching for one, and either going to your Apple service provider or fitting it yourself (it's not difficult but requires some care).
In my experience, USB WiFi adapters have proven sufficiently unreliable and problematic that I really wouldn't suggest you go that way. You could, of course, cable your mini to the wireless router/access point if it has ethernet ports and you are sufficiently close to it, and thus avoid having to do anything but buy an ethernet cable and run it between the devices.

  • How to update firmware with a Mac?

    Hi there¡
I want to update my N95 with the 20.0.015 firmware version.
The point is that I am a Mac user, so I can't use the PC suite.
    Any advice?
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi koyote
As a Mac user I use Windows under BootCamp, although NSU may also work under a Windows emulator I personally would not be happy doing this.
I presume that there is no NCP within a reasonable distance to carry out software update for you?

Does anyone know how I would use a torrent?  I downloaded a torrent and a torrent player but can't watch a show.  ANyone have VERY simple instructions for me?  Thanks!

Do some Google searching on the subject.

  • How to flash bios with NTFS drive?

How to make a good bootdisk and which procedure to follow?
Sorry if this question might be asked before, then just put the link to the post if possible.
    Thanks a lot.

    Pitchoop,
Just go in to your windows explore, put a floppy in your floppy drive. Right click on the Icon for the floppy drive and choose Format. In the format options you will see Create an MS-DOS Boot Disk.
Then transfer the flash utility and the BIOS to the floppy and you are set for flashing.

  • How I ended up with my Mac.

A Sunny Day, gone visiting the friends family and Children.
"Go outside, and get a bottle" the baby needs some liquiding.
A parking space opens -- there's even a penny in the meter
perhaps this day will prove to be cheaper!
Turning to my right I notice out of the corner of my eye,
the apple store glimering brighter then the day light sky!
An Apple computer is good for the baby too, right?
It will be worth it, even if the finances are tight!
I sent you for a bottle, and you brought back a computer?
Yes its true, a bottle is great, but the apple is better!
    Golan.

    Interesting story, about your Mac...
Will your wife make you take it back?
Resiting a shiny new Apple is the worst...
Even made you forget your baby's thist
If you want my advise, here's what I have to say to you...
Next time remember the bottle, and get your wife something too.

  • Three Devices with Same MAC

I have three new SiriusXM devices that were giving me trouble a couple weeks ago. Turns out the root of the problem is that all three have the same MAC address. Amazing, but true. 76c2.5e30.1599.
I have a feeling I've given their engineering/manufacturing staff a big headache by discovering this, as they likely have a warehouse full of these things, all with the same MAC. Not my problem, but it would be fun to watch them discover what's going on. haha
But I digress...I don't think they have a solution yet, but I'd like to use the devices anyway, if possible. They are Internet-based XMSirius radios. They all worked when I connected them to the same switch, but the log was getting flushed several times a day with MAC flapping errors every few seconds. We tried separate vlans, but that doesn't work.
Any ideas on how to do something that we shouldn't need to do? :)
    -John

    Hi John,
Is your question how to do away with the mac flap notifications. The switch is giving you its best possible help by telling you that there is a problem.  But if you still want to get rid of it, you may try the following
    (config)#no mac address-table notification mac-move
But again as a best practice i don't recommed to continue use these devices since it can some time cause issues in your network, since it keeps the cpu busy.
Hope this helps and rate my post if it is found to be useful.
    Thanks,
    Madhu.

  • How do I download Adobe Flash Player on my MacBook Pro?  It says that I have to disable my antivirus software but I never installed one. Does it come with the Mac in the first place?

How do I download Adobe Flash Player on my MacBook Pro?  It says that I have to disable my antivirus software but I never installed one. Does it come with the Mac in the first place? If so, how can I disable it or get Adobe Flash Player?

That message is just a standard one issued, mainly for Windows users, you can disregard it if you didn't install any anti-virus. (OS X has one installed by Apple that doesn't interfere)
It's just some forms of anti-malware are really paranoid and lock the entire machine down. (like Norton)
