  • MX 925 - how to force the printer to use paper from lower tray

    Hi' there,
Several people seems to have the problem, that the printer "wants" to print from the upper tray, - I assume it's because it want's photo paper. Is it possible to FORCE the printer to use paper from the lower tray, when e.g. you have no photo paper, receive the error message, and just want to see the print?
    :-) Sogge

I found a methoid that while clumsy, works. I have defined another printer on my windows machine that points to the same
printer as my original printer defination. I have named this printer "Legal" and has defined legal paper as it's default. When
I print to this printer( DECTYPE, DECNAME) it now defaults to legal.

3.Click "Printer" after selecting pages to print and I get this dialog box-
"The Print Setup dialog box is provided by the operating system. To ensure that you can use the full print capabilities of Acrobat, please set all print options from the Application print dialog box. Do you want to continue?"
    4.Click "yes"
5.New print dialog box appears, select range of pages and Two-Sided: Long Edge binding
    6. Click "Print" and it reverts to first Print dialog box
    7.Click "Print"

    * There were no pages selected to print.

    What am I missing???

When you try to print, use COMMAND P, it should bring up a window similar to this you can select the preset there. It shoud remember the preset after.

  • How to make duplex printing "default"?

By default, I want to print duplex, but whenever I print, I find that I always have to manually alter the "layout" and tell it to print duplex.
Is there a way to set up a printer to be duplex by default?

After you have set up your desired defaults in the Print dialog, select Save As from the Presets drop down menu. Save your configuration. You can then set that preset for your default.

  • How to force a printer to use legal size paper.

Oracle Reports has had a problem since the earliest versions. It doesn't handle different paper sizes well. We have a report
written in the 2.5 version of reports. If you specify LEGAL in the page setup, everything prints great. If you call the report
from a form it always prints using the default papersize for the printer. Selecting a paper tray is not an option because the
printer in question has only one tray bay and if it requests legal, you have to put a different tray in (HP4V). I put in a tar about
it and the response was setup a special PRT file to handle legal. The problem is that the PRT and the before and after printer
codes are only used it you have a character report. If you have a bitmapped report they are ignored (not oracles finest moment).
Does anyone have any ideas of functions that can help (are you listening Duncan Mills?)

  • How can I force my printer to print doublesided when sending a doc through eprint?

I found out how to force my printer to accept doublesided as standard when printing but it still does not print doublesided when I am sending a print job through HPeprint: can I force that somewhere?

Sorry to hear that it is not possible to print twodieded when mailing file to printer.
I would also like to be able to choos color or black-only printing when mailing.
I could accept to have 4 differnt mailadresses to same printer for setting b/w, color and 1or2sided printing.
Or at least change the default setting to when I mail it wil alllways be 2sided.
Should not be to hard to allow us to modify defaults at least.
To add configurable options with mulitple adresses would require more I think.

  • How to duplex print pdf file on hp 1320 using upd pcl5 on windows 7 ?

I am running Windows 7 Professional (64bit), with a HP laserjet 1320 using driver HP UPD PCL5 (v5.5.0.12834), with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro v9.5.2 and MS Word 2010. When I print a Word 2010 file I can choose duplex printing (print on both sides) and everything works fine. However, when I open a PDF file, click FILE then PRINT then PROPERTIES the PRINT ON BOTH SIDES option shows "none" and no other option is shown. I searched Adobe support and it says duplex printing is controlled by the printer driver, not Adobe software. I have uninstalled & reinstalled the UPD PCL 5 driver two times already but still the same problem of not being able to choose duplex printing for any PDF document - yet it works for MS Word. Any ideas ? Thanks

How do I duplex print on an HP 1320 printer that uses windows 7 (64 bit) system?

  • Duplex Printing for MX922

Hey I didn't see this in the forums anywhere so thought I'd make a new topic.
How do I duplex print with the mx922? I'm printing from a USB stick and can't seem to find how to print both sides of the paper.
Bonus question: my printer only seems to accept jpegs. I've tried PDFs and it keeps telling me the format us not supported. That can't be true, eh?

Since this is not an auto duplex printer, you will need to go into your printer properties and set the allow manual duplex check box. Once you have set it there it will duplex all the time.
Start menu >Device and Printers Folder > Right click on the printer > choose printer preferences > finishing tab (I think that is what it is called, if not look for the tab that has...print on both sides (manually) or allow manually duplexing (Sorry, I don't have this printer hooked up to a test box or I would get you a screenshot )
If you want to only duplex certain jobs, then you can do this through the application at the time you pick your printer by selecting printer properties (located under your printer selection button) and setting it for only that one job.
Open application > File > Print > Printer Properties > finishing tab  (steps are the same as above)
    Just remember...
Box checked = duplex (default option so this should already be set unless you have unchecked it)
    Box unchecked = not duplex
Last word of caution on these instructions...you may have some variation as I am going off my memory here....my printer is not hooked up.

  • HP Duplex Printing - OfficeJet J6450

I'm running latest Leopard (10.5.4), SW Update installed latest Apple HP Drivers the other day (shown as 2.2.1 in System Profiler). I downloaded and installed latest HP Software (Labeled as 9.7).
My OfficeJet J6450 is connected to our network via a wired connection, and the Mac is talking to it via Bonjour.
When printing from Apple provided applications (TextEdit & Safari have been tested so far) duplex printing works (I get 2-sided output when selected).
When printing from non-Apple software (Firefox, MS Word, MS Excel tested so far) I can select 2-sided printing in the Print Dialog box, but this setting is essentially ignored since it prints single sided.
I spent about an hour on the phone with HP support yesterday, and basically re-installed all HP software, rebuilt the printer in Print & Fax System Preference. The tech had never heard of difference in behavior between applications when it came to printing.
If it were not working with any applications I would say it has to be an HP issue. But given that duplex printing is working with at least some of the Apple provided applications makes this very confusing.
Any ideas on what to even look at? One would think that all applications are using the same interface to print.
My next test is to try duplex printing on a Tiger machine that is also in the house to see if this is Mac specific or Leopard specific.
Any suggestions on how to get duplex printing working reliably for all apps would be appreciated.

Hey there, I just picked up this printer today and it's awesome, except for the duplex thing. I got it to work by doing the following: when you get the print dialog box, select paper handling, then check scale to fit paper size, then select US LETTER under Destination Paper Size. Then select duplex printing and save profile under presets. The reason why i think this works is that some software doesnt like to print borderless duplex. At least then all you have to do is change presets rather than digging through all those horrible menu options. Let me know if this works for you!

  • Brother Printer won't duplex print A4

    Hi
I have a Brother laser printer HL-5150D printing from a 20" iMac using OSX 10.5.4 that has stopped printing duplex but apparently only when trying to print to A4 paper size. As A4 is my default size this is a problem for me.
If I set the paper size as US Letter in the print dialogue box the printer will duplex however the print area is reduced by about 15 - 20% which even when printing on actual A4 paper leaves a very large 3 - 4 cm empty border around the print area.
Any body have any ideas on how to get duplex printing on to A4 paper size without going through the US Letter route and ending up with a reduced size print image?

I just took a picture of my print layout, this should help - I hope.
This is the set-up under Leopard, which I now realize you are not running - in Tiger, under Pages etc. go to the bottom where it says Summary, open that, then click on the triangle next to Layout, and it will give you the option of two sided printing.

    HP Deskjet 6980
    Win 8 pro 64bit
how do i gwt support for duplex printing as the basic driver installed does not support it ?

sdsjp04, I would recommend disconnecting the printer from the computer and uninstalling/removing the printer from Programs and Features, Device Manager, and Devices and Printers.
Then follow this link for the full feature drivers:

The laserjet 1020 only has manual duplexing capabilities. Please refer to this document for a complete set of instructions.
Print on both sides of the paper (manual duplexing)

    Hi,
Try saving your settings as a Preset by clicking the Preset drop down and then select Save Current Settings as a Preset.
Next try changing the settings by selecting the saved preset.
That allow saving the settings for a specific printer, I assume it may also allow selecting these settings for another printer.
