How to force refresh in iOS 7 Calendar app?

Is there any way to manually initiate a refresh in the Calendar app in iOS 7? (I'm using iCloud to sync my personal and shared calendars with two Macs and two other users.)
In the iOS Calendar app, at least between the introduction of iCloud and iOS 6, you could show the list of calendars and then tap the refresh icon (two arrows in a circle) at the bottom of the list. In many other apps you can do so by pulling the main list view down and releasing. But I have not found any way to force iOS 7 to do this. If there is no such mechanism, consider this a feature request.
"Wait until the app refreshes by itself" is not really a valid answer to this question. Sometimes it just doesn't, and a manual refresh might help break a log jam. And sometimes you're about to get on a plane and need to be sure your calendar is up to date before you go into Airplane Mode.

I just did this successfully after the described methods above failed. (I could not push, fetch, or manually refresh)
Note; this is not a refresh, but a quick delete / re-install
1) settings; icloud; mail off, calendars off. (temporary, and not sure it's neccessary)
2) back to settings; mail contacts calendars; gmail account; delete.
3) add acount; reinstall your google account! (only took a few seconds to load everything back from google servers)
4) turn your icloud back ups on again if you wish and back up new data. I dont need to back up my gmail neccessarily, neither my calendar, now that I know how to reload direct from Google.
Why I wanted to figure this out;
I got an I phone replacement, (Thank you Apple!) but my i-cloud backup had filled up over a month ago, ( I chose to ignore) so I lost only the new data up to today's replacement ( calendar entries, texts, a new contact or two, and a month's worth of the only game I play.. real racing 3.. errr..so i just deleted the game:-)

How to force refresh of data through browser or PDF?

We have the dashboard set to refresh every minute. We are pulling the data using XML from DB. When we are in browser and clear the browser cache and then reload the .swf... the data is updated. We haven't been able to figure out how to force the cache-clear and data refresh with either swf or pdf.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Is the XML coming from a web page or a web server?
If yes then you can give this a go. To stop the caching mark your web page with extra tags to say it has expired.

IOS 5 Calendar app current time bar off after time switch

Here is a issue I have recently noticed. Yesterday we had time fall back one hour. On my Macbook, Iphone 4, and Ipad2, the system time is showing correctly(the time in menu bar on the Mac, and in the top system bar on iOS). On my two Ios5 devices however, in the "Calendar" app, the little bar with the red dot (i refer to as the "current time bar") still shows one hour ahead. So for example the actual time in Los Angeles, CA right now is 3:19 PM but in the calendar app on both Ios devices it shows as 4:19 PM. Keep in mind that the system time is showing 3:19 PM on both of these devices. I logged into the http://www.icloud.com web site and it shows correctly. On my Mac book running MacOSX 10.7.2 everything shows up ok (both system time and iCals current time bar). I am connected to Wi-Fi and 3G. I do have time zone support enabled on all devices, but turning that off did not help anything and I don't see how that could be causing this. What is causing this? Is this a bug in iOS5? Please let me know if you are experiencing the same issue so we can have Apples developers fix this bug. Thanks have a nice afternoon.

The "Current time bar" in iOS5 Calendar is showing up one hour ahead after time switch as of yesterday (11/5/2011 Los Angeles, CA)
What I know:
System time on Mac, Iphone and Ipad shows up as the right time
Current time bar in iCal on MacOSX 10.7.2 shows right
Current time bar in Calendar on icloud.com shows right

I'm having the same issue... the time is right on my phone, however the time-bar is showing DST (one hour ahead). I've restarted the phone... checked my iCloud time zone, etc... even tried turning on/off the Time Zone support not only for the phone but also in the Calendar... nothing.
So in the end, correct time but the time-bar is incorrect. I hope this is just a bug that needs fixing by Apple...

How do I delete the US holidays calendar app

I have two holiday apps on both my mac and my iPod. One is US Holidays & the other is Holidays in the United States. I must have added one by accident a while back. On my iMac Easter was listed twice both on April 5th. On my iPod it has Easter listed twice also, at least when I search. Easter is on the correct date in the Holidays in The United States app, but in the US Holidays app, it lists it as April 20. It's only there in the US Holidays app, when I do a search for Easter. I've edited my google calendar, thinking that perhaps I had two dates listed for Easter, and that iCloud was getting your wrong date from google. It also had two dates for Easter, but deleting theUS Holidays app, on google, made no difference. I just tried selecting the offending date, on both my iPod and computer, and when I did a search on my computer it suddenly added, another dates for Easter, April 20th in Holidays of The United States app, Sunday March 27 2015. Actually I had 4, but then one disappeared w/o me doing anything. Does anyone have any idea, how to delete the offending app, or could it be both apps, or possibly even my iCloud settings? I do often get mac alerts saying that "this mac cannot connect to iCloud, because of a problem. Open system preferences. Unfortunately I can never see anything wrong wt it. I'm not sure if these problems are related. Thank you so much for your help ...

In the Calendar app sidebar, control-click on the calendar you want to get rid of and in the menu that appears, click on Delete. That should take care of it.

How to set iCal as the default calendar app again?

So, reluctantly I bought and installed MS Office 2008 for Mac because OpenOffice was not a solution...
However, now Entourage seems to be set as the standard application to handle ics files, although I clicked yes when iCal asked me if I wanted iCal as my standard calendar app.
Nevertheless, whenever I receive an ics file in Mail (generated by Thunderbird Lightning extension) and I click on the ics file Entourage opens instead of iCal, as it used to be.
Any hints on how to tell Mail or OS X or whoever's responsible, to handle ics files with iCal?
BTW, I already tried downloading the ics file, Open With and selected iCal and "always open with" or however it is called in the English version.

Actually, I don't want to use any third-party app here. This should be possible with built-in OS functionality...
Maybe I have to reboot? But I hoped I'd let that behind together with windows

How can I make an IOS and ANDROID app using MUSE?

I don't know anything about coding but I believe you can create something in Muse and use phone gap to turn it into a iOS or Android app - the information on this is extremely scarce - i have just seen little notes like of course you can and so forth - thats hardly helpful - has anyone managed to create something and got their app published on the Apple/Google plaster? If someone has used something better than phone gap as a router from muse to the eventual app i would be curious in that too.

Yes, you can create an app with Muse. Keep in mind it would only be an informational app and contain no phone features such as camera, GEO Location, Data, etc.
So once agin you would be restricted to an information only type app. Another problem with using Muse to do an app is that Muse uses fixed width design and therefore will not scale depending on device. So if you want to be on phones and tablets you would need to create two versions.
Using Phonegap Bulid you would you would extract your Muse site (phone version usually unless you change the size of your desktop version) as HTML files and then zip them up. Using Phonegap Build you would be able to create the required files for submission to the app stores (Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon, Windows App Store). You will need to be on a Mac to be able to submit to the Apple App Store. It will work using Muse but a better solution is to use a build service such as one that I have used in the past called AppsZero - Build Apps With Zero Coding.
Google and Apple also require paid developer licenses. Apple is $99/year US and Google when I got mine was $25 one-time fee. Not sure if the Google one has changed but the Apple one is still $99/year.

How to force refresh of BPM Workspace programatically?

Hi All,
As part of our project, we have developed a BPM Workflow with ADF forms based on Human Tasks. Once the form has been processed, the window closes.
There are 2 issues thatI am hoping for help with.
1. The worklist is updated only after an explicit refresh is carried out.
2. I notice that the preview pane in the BPM Workspace still has an active version of the form. The form within this pane is modifiable which poses a business risk in our case.
My questions are
1. How do we programmatically force a refresh on the workspace? I'll include this in just after I close the form.
2. Hide the preview pane?
Alternately, can all this be achieved by configurations to the Workspace?
Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Version : JDeveloper : 11.1.1.4, SOA suite 11g.

Sounds like a major stuff up on apple's behalf as this feature has been announced widely (incl their own webpage) sand is even included in the official release notes of the install file(!!)

2 apps...1 new, 1 old. How to force docs to open in old app...

We've installed Quark 7 for testing purposes, but still want all Quark docs to open in Quark 6.5 by default. But of course double-clicking them forces them to open in v7.
We've tried doing the whole "Get Info -> Open With -> Change all" method, and the Get Info dialog automatically reverts back to Quark 7.
I realize it probably has something to do with the launch services cache, and was wondering if there was terminal command or something that can be done with the Plist Editor to change this.

I'm not familiar with Quark, but I think how it generally works is that when an application is selected in "Open with" and set to be the default for a given kind of file, it is the 'CFBundleIdentifier' that is recorded. If more than one application has the same 'CFBundleIdentifier', then the document is opened with the application with the matching 'CFBundleIdentifier' that has the highest 'CFBundleVersion' and I don't know if that aspect can be changed.
If it is an application that tolerates some tinkering (Quark might not be), then it might be possible either to change the test version's 'CFBundleIdentifier', or modifying its 'CFBundleVersion' lower or higher depending on how you want it to behave...

Ios 8 calendar app blank

when I bring down the notification screen, I see Calendar but no info, just a block of blank space. ???

I have the same exactly issue with the App Store. It seems like it can't connect and there's just a blank screen. However, I can update apps just fine.

Since you can only sync your ipod with one computer, the only music that would normally be in your computer's iTunes library besides what's on your touch, is what you purchased from the iTunes store using your touch. You can [Transfer Purchases|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848?viewlocale=en_US] to get those over into your computer.
If you've been manually managing music and putting music over on your touch from multiple computers, you will not only have to manually figure out which ones are not on your computer, you will need to get a third party option to transfer them over as iTunes will only let you transfer iTunes purchases to your computer.

Hello, how can I set notifications on the calendar app icon (red circles with numbers of new events)? I get upcoming appointment only via the notification center, but not as app icon alert?

this has been turned on already, however the badges are still missing. They are showing for the mails app, but not for the calendar app. Could this be a problem with the push notifications? Same problems for the reminder app.

How to get calendar travel time (set up in Mavericks) to show on iOS 7 calendar?

I was wondering how to get calendar travel time (set up in Mavericks) to show on iOS 7 calendar? If I change a location in mavericaks it is updated in my iOS 7 calendar, but if I add travel time to an appointment, that does not show up on my iphone. This seems like a big miss for apple if this is the case. I could maybe understand not adding the ability to add travel time in iOS 7, but not being able to see the travel times you set up seems very incomplete. Any ideas or insight?

I don't believe the table changed when migrating from Access. I had two tables before the migration, one was for the SwitchBoard Manager and the other table was for the database table. I used the Switchboard to navigate to different menus, such

How do I get rid of this. The calendar functions all right, but just have to close both of those boxes after doing any action in the calendar app.

Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried, until the problem is resolved. Back up all databefore making any changes.
Step 1
From the Calendar menu bar, select
Calendar ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts
Choose the affected account from the list on the left and uncheck the box marked
Enable this account
Then check the box again. Test.
Step 2
Make a note of the account settings, then delete the account and add it back with the same settings.
Step 3
If you can't add the account, the settings may be invalid. Verify them. How you do that depends on what kind of account it is. If it's a Google calendar and you've activated 2-step verification, you need to generate an application-specific password in your Google account and enter it in place of your old password.
Step 4
Quit Calendar. Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a file named "Calendar Cache" selected.

How to force JEditorPane to be refreshed?

I've problem of refreshing JEditorPane using setPage( ) method.
I've written a simple JAVA browser with an analysing system. When a user clicks a hyperlink, the setPage( ) method will be called. Followed by the setPage( ) method, is another method, called method2, used to analyse the content of the page which will take several seconds to minutes to be finished.
The problem I have now is that, the new HTML page will be displayed only after method2 is finished. How to force the page to be displayed before running method2?

Just to add - invokeLater will free up the swing thread so setPage completes in a timely manner but
StanislavL's example will run method2 on the swing thread also, just as a separate action
performed at a later time. This is good if method2 makes further calls to swing methods but it
does mean that the analysis will block the swing thread for however long it takes. If that's OK then fine, otherwise modify as:
