How to forcibly exit (logout/kill) an active user login ?

Hello,
We have a requirement wherein all active already logged in users of a particular application need to be kicked out during certain maintenance times.
We can prevent users from logging in using web dispatchers (URI filters), locking in UME etc, BUT how to kill already logged in users?

Try to terminate the session using J2EE visual admin.
Visual Admin -> Services > Security Provider > Runtime > Login Sessions.
Also Try using NWA >System Mangement > Monitoring > Session Monitoring.

Considering that not only Salvatore himself, but also the JControl might decide for itself that the system needs a hard shutdown and restart.. a possibly better solution would be to use a redirect. If the message server does does not respond or does not find any DIs or not the one which your previous session state was for, then redirect to a page with a meaningfulll message (and apology on it.

How to Kick Duplicate Active User Logins?

Hello,
At certian times during the day we are hitting our user license limit. After further investigation we are noticing two things. One is that some users are logging into the system in more than one browser which in turn is taking up multiple licenses. Two sometimes the user leaves for the day (or lunch) and closes the browser window instead of pressing the Logout button.
So my question is: Is there a way (or utility) that will allow administrators to kick users off the system which will free up the license?

Hello Mike,
Pop-up windows for browses are automatically closed upon selection or via the cancel button and with the close button from within the application for report pop-ups.
If IE is used for other things,then we can discard this workaround.
About the second question,in Netweaver there is capability to terminate an HTTP session,when we click the button "Terminate" -the http session is terminated and a license slot released.
Not sure about the underlying mechanism and if this causes a servlet with that session to be destroyed freeing up a license.The same functionality is not available in weblogic.
The license mechanism is handled by the application logic not by weblogic if I correctly understood your question.
About the customization,I believe that it is possible to port it to your branch.

How to identify the number of unique active users/connections on PIX/ASA

Is it at all possible with SNMP or other tools to identify the unique number of connections on PIX or ASA. I’m not referring to the number of session or the results of “show conn count” but rather something similar to what “show local host” command will provide.

How to restore from time machine for another user login

I use time machine to back my computer which has multiple user login.
First I set up time machine backup using User A. I checked that User B files in the hard disk is also backed up, and I can restore using User B login.
Then I changed the hard disk today and all users I need to recreate again.
After recreating users, I found that User A can restore files from time machine backup.
However, files originally under User B cannot be restored using either User A and User B. The error message is
"The folder “Documents” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents."
Anyone can help?

Not sure if this is related enough, but I just wrestled trying to restore from time machine too, trying to reinstall 10.5.8 after putting a new HD in my MBP, 2006 vintage.
That took sooooo long to get back to where I was before swapping disks; what did the trick was ordering a free copy of Snow Leopard install disk (free due to Apple trying to push people from idisk to icloud) which was rushed FedEx (yay) and which allowed me to access Time Machine where my ancient original OSX install disk had not.
And all it took was 2 weeks of cursing!

Check the number of active users of oc4j in EBS

Hi,
I often see a recommndation of sizing jvm's to 1 per 100 active users. How can I find the number of active users currently using a jvm in EBS. We have 4 apps servers and 1 of apps servers also runs OBIEE with it's own jvm.
I can find out from a unix command prompt counting establish connections to the port but I like to know if there's a better way to find the number of active users using the jvm's

Hi,
To find the number of active user session on each of the application servers from a unix command line. I would find the port that Apache was listening on eg 8100. The use the following command on each of the apps servers
netstat -an | grep 8100 | grep -i est | wc -l
This gives a rough idea of how many active connections are established to the apps server. But I would really like to find how many users are actively using o4cj.
If you are using forms in socket mode again, you can grep on the forms listening port number to find how many active forms users are connected.
I can also see how many active connections are in the oc4j established to the database using lsof. Find the process id for oacore jvm.
lsof -p PID
But I'm sure there's a better and more accurate way of find active users of o4cj, specifically oacore.

The iMac I use at the university where I work connects to Active Directory for authentication - there are no local user logins (apart from the admin account of course).
I'd like to know how to set the default items for all user logins. Specifically, I'd like the system to automatically create an alias on the desktop to a shared folder for every new user login, or automatically open that folder in Finder when logged in.
Though I'm the main user, if I'm not around other people may require access to the stuff I do for the multitude of projects I work on for a department of 30 people, and as everyone else uses a PC and only a few are Mac savvy, I'd like to make it as easy as possible for the poor dears to find the files. (We have a shared network drive where I can put some stuff but unfortunately our allocation is not very big!)

Show active user in EP 6.0 SP12 on WAS 6.40

We have a "simple" issue. How do we see a list of active users in EP60 SP12.
The perfviewer tool for this release does not show a list called "user sessions" any longer (does on EP60 SP2).
Also the iview "Activity report" only shows zero's even when users are online (and we did activate the application i service configuration and restartet)

You can only see the menu of one responsibility at a time, so how to do you expect the application to let you see multiple responsibilities/menus in one session?
You could open another session and this way you can access more than one responsibility at the same time.

How do I move imove content from one user to another on the same computer?

We bought our Macbook pro about six months ago. We made the mistake of creating two users for it (my husband and myslef) but bow we only log in under my user name. The problem is we originally imported all of our video camera content to his "log in" and now it is in his imovie folder, and not mine. I want to make a movie on my log in with the fottage that we imported to his. So, how do I get video content from one users login on the SAME computer to the other log in users? I cannot seem to move it for the life of me. I did not expect this to be so difficult.

You need to log into his account and look, under the Movies folder, for iMovie Events. Inside, you'll find folders with the events names and still further will be the movie itself. Copy each to an external media or use the Shared folder so both accounts can reference them.
Another option would be to attach an external HD and via iMovie (Events Library pane) move them to the new disk. You would preserve the thumbnails and analysis already performed on the videos.

Go to tcode CMOD. In the project field drop down your list there. Put a Z* there and run the list. These should be all the exits that are activated. Search for the ones that pertain to FI. You can also search by development class. You need a little ABAP knowledge to search easily. You get this by going to the tcode then to status then to the program then to the attributes. There you find the development class. Ie FBAS.

There is a case I being requested to retrieve the Userid, User Name,
User Group, User Dept, Date, Login Time, Logout Time in a specific date, for example, 21.05.2009.
How should I retrieve the information? The user want to input specific date and user group then return the details that mentioned above.
I try with SUIM->Users->By Logon Date and Password Change... but I can't specific the date that I want ...
I try with SM19 (Security Audit Log), but unfortunately in my system this is not activated.
I've seek for SAP's advise, and they say need to ask abaper to developr a report in order to get such details....
Do you guys have any other methods?
Do you guys know which tables will contain the details as mentioned above?

Unfortunately without the audit log, you're going have a hard time finding this information. As mentioned, ST03N will give you some information. If your systems daily workload aggregation goes back to the date you require then you'll be able to get a list of all users who logged on that day. ST03N doesn't keep time stamps just response times.
My only idea is VERY labor intensive. If your DB admin can retrieve a save of the database from that day then table USR02 will hold a little more information for you. It will contain last login times for that day. If your system backup policy happened to have saved the contents of folder "/usr/sap/<SID>/<instance>/data" then you potentially have access to all the data you require. The stat file will have recorded every transaction that took place during that day. If that file is restored you could use program RSSTAT20 to query against it.

1)you need to give the function code to that save in the Function Keys of that screen from the GUI Status.
2) while filling the field catalog of that field you need to put the
wa_fieldcat_edit-edit = c_x.
i.e use the edit and append to that field catalog internal table.

If you want to logout the user session automatically if the user has not worked or does any activity in the system then for that you need to change the parameter settings using the RZ11 transaction
parameter :rdisp/gui_auto_logout
Enter the required number of seconds of inactivity before the user is logged off automatically.
To deactivate automatic log off, delete the parameter from the profile(s) or set the value '0'.
