How to format Memory card in N79 and 5630 Xpressmu...

Hi everyone,
I am using N79 amd 5630 Xpressmusic. Can any body tell me how to format the memory card in these sets. Coz in file manager there is no option to format memory card.

To format the memory card follow the below procedure:
1. Go to "File Manager-> Memory Card" (I've named the memory card as N79).
2. You will need to open the memory card and then go to its "Options" menu.
3. Go to "Memory Card Options-> Format" and confirm.
Please note that the memory card will not get formatted unless every application is closed and you have not installed any third party applications on it. For this, you will have to uninstall any third party applications and only then proceed with the memory card formatting procedure.

There is no solution. If you formatted the card, the data is gone, purely and simply.
Sorry, but there is no solution. You'll have to think twice before formatting the card next time.

Problem formatting memory cards when running Parallels Desktop... help?

I've had the following scenario and can't figure out how to fix it. Emailed Parallels but waiting for a response. Any thoughts?
I tried selecting a Sandisk Imagemate card reader as a USB device to connect with the guest OS of Windows XP Pro. I opened the DOS window and tried running a command (that I know FOR SURE is the correct command and works perfectly for others with stand-alone Windows XP Pro computer) that would reformat my SD memory card to FAT32 in 32k clusters. When the operation seems to be completing, Parallels shuts down the host OS and I'm left back at the screen where I can choose to restart or modify the virtual machine settings!!! The iMac will not recognize the card at this point because it doesn't recognize FAT32 formatted devices. When I restart Windows XP Pro, the OS says that the card is not formatted and won't read it UNLESS I FORMAT IT! But, I just did try to format it?!?!? This happened 4 times in a row before I realized there's a problem here. My colleagues at work have done this with their Windows XP Pro machines without incident. Can you tell me why it's not working in Windows that is running through Parallels?

through the OSX drivers because it it dealing with
files on the Mac formatted disk. Because the card is
treated as a disk this may be blocking the
formatting. You should be able to format it with
OSX's Disk Utility. OSX does handle FAT32.
OSX does handle FAT32 disks, but Disk Utility formats them as FAT16.

6233 unable to format memory card

Hi.
My little brother has this phone and I gave him a 2 GB Transcend card for the phone. When we insert the new card we are not able to format it. The option for formatting (located under gallery->options) is disabled on the menu and it says you can only read the memory card. The card does not accept any file transfers without formatting it. The old Nokia 64 MB card works just fine.
Is there a way around this? Firmware version is 5.10.

That's weird because it is clearly stated here that the 6233 supports 2gb cards
Firstly: You can try putting the card in a card reader and use a PC to format it then put it in the phone and see how it behaves
If this doesn't work check if the writing on the card says 2GB SD or if it says 2GB SDHC
Some say this is the same thing, I believe it isn't.
Reason being that 2gb is the highest capacity SD card and the lowest capacity SDHC.
It's possible that if your hardware is not compatible with SDHC it might not be able to read the card.
Might not be completely true but it's definitely worth looking at

My memory card has worked 100% fine since I got my phone, now all of a sudden it says "A memory card has been inserted that is not formatted, please format the memory card"   How do I fix it? I dont want to lose all my pictures

They may already be lost. But, to be sure, you should remove the card from your BB and use a card reader on a PC to be sure.

How to swap memory card with all apps, data etc.

Hi,
Currently I have a 2GB memory card on my E63 (latest firmware), which has 3 'paid-for' applications and several free downloaded applications, loads of mp3s etc. I have purchased a 4GB memory card already, and would like to "do something" that would help me retain the entire contents of the current 2GB memory card, onto the 4GB memory card, s.t. apart from extra file space (which I plan to use for photos, videos, music), all other applications and current content remain available on the new card, w/o any other impact. I believe that backing up and restoring via 'Nokia PC Suite' won't save my apps, and only some of the data. E.g. it won't save the eBooks I have.

Easy.
Connect the E63 in "mass storage" mode.
Go into "My Computer", open the removable drive that will have appeared when you connected the phone. Enable the display of hidden and system objects (this bit is crucial, but I don't know how to do this not being a Windows user myself).
Once you have the display of all objects enabled, create a new folder on your desktop and then copy all of the files/folders in the phone over to it.
Next, disconnect the phone and eject the memory card. Insert the new one and format it in the phone (that'll be in your phone's manual).
Reconnect the phone in mass storage mode. Grab all the objects in the folder that you created on your desktop, including hidden and system objects, and drag'n'drop them over to the phone.
Disconnect the phone once everything has been copied over -- don't forget to use the "safely disconnect USB device" thing in the computer's notification zone.
Job done.

Plugged in memory card, exsiting folders and file names were renamed and unreadable

First time using this forum, so excuse and formatting mistakes. I will try to provide as much information as possible.
Today I plugged in my 16gb Kingston memory card after a shoot. The memory card had existing folders and files in it. When I looked at it in Bridge, though, the folders had been renamed as such: DCIM had changed to DBIL, _EDIT had changed to _^EDIT, _MG_7674.CR2 had changed to _LG^7674.CR2 and so forth. Lots of replaced letters and added symbols. Also, nothing can be opened now. I tried copying on of the images to my desktop, renaming to it's original name, but that did not work. I also plugged it back into the camera, and what was readable moments ago is now resulting in a "No Image" screen.

Have you applied all updates to CS6? You should be at Photoshop CS6 13.0.6.

I imported some pictures from my cameras memory card to iPhoto and now i want to transfer them back to memory card

I just got my iMac and I just wanted to copy some pictures from my camera's memory card to my computer. turns out 'importing pictures' meant totaly removing the pictures from my memory card. How can I transfer the pictures back to my memory card?

I used Dynex Compact Memory Card Reader and put my memory card in it to connect to the usb plug

FYI and future reference, importing pictures does not have to mean removing them from the memory card or camera.
When you plug in a memory card and open iPhoto to import your pictures, there will be a dialog box that opens and asks if you'd like to "Keep" the imported photos on the card, or delete them.
Apparently you selected the option to delete them.
In any case, in order to move them back to the card, you *should* be able to plug the card into your Dynex reader, after which the card should mount and display on the desktop. Then, open iPhoto and simply drag the photos from there and into the memory card.
You may need to recreate the file and folder structure on the card so the camera can find the files when you wish to view them.

Help to format memory card (Nokia 5300)

Hi everyone.
I have a problem with my Nokia 5300. The problem occurred about two weeks ago and then escalates up to today, where it now has gone all bad.
The problem is my memory card. I haven’t changed it, so it is the original card that came with the phone.
It started with, that my phone couldn’t find my memory card. Then I had to shut down the phone and start it up again. It worked.
But now, I can’t get my phone to see the card. I’ve tried to take the card out of the phone and then inserted it again.
When I do that, the phone can see the card, but when I try to enter it, it says that the card isn’t formatted and therefore can’t be accessed.
According to the Nokia 5300 manual, I’ve to enter the memory card to format it – so it’s quite a paradox. I would like to back my card up, but that doesn’t seem to be a possibility.
Is there a way to format the memory card or is there someone with a explanation and/or a solutions to this problem? It’s really frustrating.
I just updated my phone, so the newest version of the software is installed. I’ve backup my contacts, messages and calendar – and some of the pictures from my memory card. I could access it in the beginning of the backup / update, but suddenly it disappeared.

Action Cam HDR-AS100VR can't record XAVC-S format, memory card incompatible?

Hello Sony, I've just purchased POV action cam HDR-AS100VR and I want to record XAVC-S format for a smooth and clear output. My initial micro sd card is class 10, 64GB scandisk ultra which I coud'nt useit to record XAVC-S format because of low read/write speed. So I decide to buy a new memory card, I found a 64 GB Scandisk Extreme Plus with 80Mb/s read and 50Mb/s write. I thought that was enough speed for the cam to record XAVC-S format, but the cam flashes MEDIA when I set it to XAVC-S format. I also tried reformating the sd card to exFAT, but still no luck. Any idea why? is my new memory card(almost US$100) not fast enough for the cam? If you can give me a list of memory card that can actualy record XAVC-S format on this cam will be big help.

This error happens when using a memory card that is not fast enough to record the data being saved by camera. An SDXC Memory Card of Class 10 or faster is required to record using the XAVC S format.
You just need to try other microSDXC card with a faster write/read speed.

How to unlock memory card nokia 5310

i just updated my nokia 5310 firmware from 5.81 to 8.32 and now my memory card has locked itself.
can anyone help with this?

Depending on the memory card you are using, there is a lock switch located at the side or the back that you can use to unlock the memory card. Please refer to the illustration below for more information.

You should try to format your memory card via your PC, or try to perform a Hard reset with your Memory card inserted in your phone.
