How to format micro SD - Do I really need to format on a different device?

I'm just trying to reformatt my micro sd card to a diffent file system and tring to find where to do that in the settings menu?

Sorry I need to be more clear. I have an Acer Iconia a1-840fhd and the question is how to format micro SD cards on this tablet as there do not seem to be ay options for that in the tablets settings? On other tablets and phones, there is alwyas an option to erase and format the micro sd card somewhere' in the setting menu, but not on on this Acer tablet. FYI - According to the manual, this Acer table supports micrSD FAT, FAT32, exFAT and NFTS file system.

I Have the same problem, I switched off location services, maps in data, whatever else maps could be involved in nd then just last nite it chewed 100mb... I'm also on vodacom so I'm seeing a pattern here somehow. Siri was switched on however so I switched it off now nd will see what happens. but I'm gonna go into both apple and vodacom this afternoon because this must be sorted out its a serious issue we have on our hands and some uproar needs to be made against those responsible!

Or if you don't want to delete all of it, you can just discard 1:1 previews using Library->Previews menu - that may or may not buy you the space you need.
If you do opt for deleting the whole thing, here is an idea to keep it from going back to 50G: change the size/quality of standard previews and/or the policy for auto-removing 1:1 previews (Lr Preferences -> Catalog Settings -> File Handling).

As this thread documents, using only BBProtect as your backup strategy is insufficient and risky. Done incorrectly, you can completely wipe out the backups you have on the BB servers. If that happens, there is no way to retrieve them...once gone, gone for good.

My ipod deleted all my notes and I REALLY need them back! How can I get them back!?

For some reason my ipod touch 5 deleted all my notes and all the mail in my inbox its all gone. I do not have the iOS 6.1 update though. So I dont know how this could have happened. I have not backed up my ipod to my computer since I got it because thats not how I use it. But my sisters ipod 4 also for some reason had my notes downloaded onto hers? And she has recently backed up her ipod on the computer. But once the notes on mine were deleted so were hers. But since she has recently backed hers up maybe I can restore the to her ipod then to mine. If so how would I do this? I really need those notes back they were REALLY important! Thanks!

I've been using <cfquery> successfully for a long time
to do table inserts, but now I'd like to use <cfinsert> for
the simple inserts. However, I'm getting error messages. A typical
<cfquery> against my Oracle database would look like:

Word of advice: I would stay away from using cfinsert and
cfupdate tags, unless you are prone to masochistic tendencies and
enjoy pain and suffering. These tags are notoriously bug-prone, and
cause more work than they save. Just my opinion, but I'm sure that
it is one shared by many on these forums.
Having said that, you might take a look at the attributes for
this tag, as you seem to have combined the schema (table owner)
with the table name, as in ABC.ACTION_TYPE_DEF, which should be
listed distinctly using separate attributes, namely tableOwner and
tableName respectively. Note: I don’t use these tags so this
“fix” is just based on reading the
LiveDocs
for this tag.
Since you have so much more control using cfquery, and you
said that you have been using it for quite some time, why switch to
using cfupdate/cfinsert? If you already know enough SQL to do an
insert or update , then you really don't need to use these tags.

I connect an external hard disk (2.5' IDE Western Digital Scorpio Blue, WD2500BEVE) via USB or FireWire to my Mac mini. The Disk Utility tool shows an external disk drive of 128 GB - but the disk has 250 GB. How can I format the external USB/Firewire-harddisk 250 GB "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)"?
I tried also to format the disk on a Windows PC (Windows XP). But I could not find a software to format "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)".
Any hints on this? Thanks in advance for any feedback!

It is not only realistic but probably the reason your Mac cannot see more than 128 GB of the capacity of the drives mounted in them. It has nothing to do with the interface between the Mac & case (like Firewire) but instead with the controller in the case that connects the raw ATA drive to that interface. Older ATA standards used a 28 bit LBA (logical block address) scheme to access the disk. For 512 bytes per sector this works out to a maximum of 128 GB of addressable disk capacity. The ATA-6 standard, also called Ultra-ATA/100 or just ATA-100, increased the bits in the address space from 28 to 48, with a disk capacity limit of 2 petabytes.
ATA-6 was introduced in 2001, so any external drive case made before then for ATA drives will be forever limited to 128 G. Even now, some come with a controller that does not support the ATA-6 standard, & essentially none have all the hardware to support its full 48 bits of address capacity. However, since 2 PB (2000 terabyte) drives won't be available anytime soon, all you really need is a case that is ATA-6 or better compliant & supports enough address bits for the largest drive you intend ever to put in it.
Case makers don't usually make this information easily available but many now include a "bullet" spec about the maximum capacity their case supports, typically rounded off to simple numbers like 320 GB, 500 GB, or whatever. If you can't find this info, you can assume that the newer the case the more likely it is to support larger capacity drives, or just buy one with a good return policy & test it yourself with the largest raw drive you own.

Someone please be kind and have mercy on me, I've researched this issue for 5 hours now and cannot resolve it on my own.
I have a text field where the user will enter either a 9 digit or 11 digit number separated with dashes. If the number entered is 9 digits, it should appear as
XX-XXXXXXX. If 11 digits, it should appear as XX-XXXXXXX-XX. If only 9 digits are entered, the -XX at the end must be omitted.
I found a javascript that showed how to allow a varying number of digits, and I also found one that showed how to cause the dash to be entered, but I'm not smart enough to know how to combine the two. I've only used one other javascript before (how to format the time 12:00 am, with a gigantic thanks to Mr. George Johnson), so I know that I must put the script in "Advanced > Document Processing > Document JavaScripts." I think then I would go into the text field format and select "custom," and enter a keystroke and format script???
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

When I copied the first part of the code into the document-level javascript editor box and hit okay, it gives this message:
SyntaxError: return not in function
8: at line 9
and the cursor moves to the empty line after:

I assuming you really need FAT16 for some external requirement, otherwise why not FAT32??

The same procedure should work for any USB drive. YMMV.
iPartition will also format FAT16.
I don't know if the free version wiill do it.

How to format programming source-code in a Framemaker document?

I have to write up a technical document in Framemaker that explains various programming source-code.
So my document consists of a bunch of text, followed by a bunch of source code (Java, XML) and then followed by more text, etc.
What I'm confused about is how to format source code as part of my document. Has anyone done this for a technical document and come across any instructions or tips? So far my Googling hasn't produced anything relevant to what I need to do.

If you haven't created a paragraph format that uses a fixed-width font, such as Courier or a console font, you need to do that.
If you want to preserve line breaks in the code, and if it has fairly long lines, you're likely to need to specify a font size of 7 pt. or so. For really long lines, you may need to go to a landscape page format or incorporate a way of telling your readers that the lines wrap.
Those are the basics. If you want to get fancier, I usually set up a table so I can apply a contrasting background tone, and format each line of code as a cell (it's a one-column table). You can also add a second column to hold line numbers, if you want.

Unfortunately no. That is one of the, several, complaints about the iTMS. First you have "protected" files that are not convertible to other formats (not directly anyway; you can burn to Audio CD then reimport), are not portable to other music players (again, not directly, work arounds exist), and to top it all off, they are advertised as "CD quality" but really you are buying a rather low bit rate for about the same as if you just went out and bought the physical CD instead. Of course, with CDs you can not buy just the tracks you want.
Hey maybe that is what Apple should do. Sell individual songs at 128kbps/MP4 but if you buy the full album you instead get 192+kbps/MP4s. Then you encourage the real audiophiles to buy albums, not singles. And artists can not complain that the iTMS method only sells their main hits and allowing users to not discover the other songs on their albums.
