How to fullscreen a video in keynote

I had seen others asking about this and just figured it out. If you drag and drop the video into the left panel where all the thumbnails of the slides are (not onto an existing slide) Keynote will create a slide for the video at optimal size. (at least it just worked for me). Hope this helps.

There should be a Keynote preference to choose which display to use. The two external displays, though will appear as one wide display to the computer.

  • How to upload a video on Keynote since IOS 8

Since the IOS 8 update I have not been able to find my videos to add to a presentation. Before the update all videos were in the 'media' section of Keynote app but now it just shows 'Photos'. The 'Video' file is synced in the same file as all the photos but all videos now go directly into the separate Video app under the 'Movies' category that can not be found by the Keynote app.
I am able to copy and paste any videos I have used on previous presentations but not all videos I want to use are available on past presentations but this is a workaround if a video has been used before.
Anyone that is kind enough to offer advise please bare in mind that this was not an issue before the update (just trying to save anyone taking the time to explain how it used to work before the update )
Many thanks in advance for any help

For a limited time Apple will allow you to downgrade to 7.1.2.  Hurry do not wait.

  • How to get a video into Keynote

I am using a PC with iTunes, I have all the videos synced to my iPad, i have purchased Keynote and with some hard work got my ppt into Keynote. I wanted to add a video to it but I dont see how to do it. Can i still do it using a PC? Help!

Since your on a Window computer the only way I can think of is to place the video in a Power Point and import that into the iPad. Open the Power Point in keynote and then copy the video into your keynote presentation. The video will have to be in a format that the iPad supports.
    Video formats for the iPad:
H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format.

    Hi,
I have a similar problem. I transfered the videos I took with my ipod touch 4g 64gb and now I wanted to add them back into my ipod on photos Camera Roll. What can I do?

  • How do I embed a YouTube Video in Keynote 6.5?

Hi!  Used to be that we could embed a link into Keynote to play during the slideshow; I'm not seeing how to do that now. Help! Please!  It looks like the Keynote just wants the videos to live on board the computer, you just click Media and bring it in...
    Thoughts?  Thanks everyone!
    S

Hi ViddyYo! I don't recall ever being able to embed videos in Keynote - but you certainly can not embed videos within a presentation now.
You will have to download the video from the video hosting site and place it as a movie within the Keynote.
If you own the rights, I would suggest using a website like www.keepvid.com to make it happen.

  • Any ideas on how to edit a video that's already embedded in keynote (latest version)?

Any ideas on how to edit a video that's already embedded in keynote (latest version)?

You can change the edit points in:    Inspector > Format > Movie
If you want to edit in a more complex manner: save as a package:
File > Advanced > Change filetype > Package
Save As using a different name
right click the file > select show package contents
in the data folder; copy the movie file by option and dragging to the desktop

  • How do you import a video from Home Videos into Keynote?

Some one cleverly (not) decided that imported videos now must go in "Home Videos" but Keynote cannot import from there? How do you import a "Home Video" into Keynote?

This means that your file extension is set to playback on Windows Media Player thats all.
Change your folder settings in Windows Explorer, go to Folder Options, View tab, and uncheck hide extensions for known media types.
Then look at your filename and it should read "video name.mp4" or .m4v or .mov, these are the only file types that will play back on the 5G ipod.

  • How can I use a bluetooth remote to pause a video on Keynote?

I used to use a bluetooh remote to pause videos on Keynote during my presentations.  However, since the Keynote update to 6.2 I am no longer able to do it and it was a very helpful tool for me.  I use the Satechi bluetooth remote GBR-100 for that.  I use the MacBook Air which does not have the infra red remote capability.  Is there any possible set up that I can try?
    Thank you!

The Apple Store sold me a standard VGA adapter, not the digiital one.  The back of the packages states the adaptor supports iPad and iPad 2, but no iPad 3 or "New iPad" is listed.  Did they sell me the wrong adapter?
No. It was packaged before the new iPad was released so it won't list it but is is compatible.
Is it possible that my VGA projector won't accept the 1080 input?
Possibly. Either this or it is not set up corectly.

  • How to embed a YouTube video in keynote on ipad2

I am new to using keynote on the ipad2 and wanted to know the steps, if there are any, to embed a YouTube video into keynote.  Any suggestions?

Yes, and if that presents any problems, you do have the You Tube application already installed on iPad.  It is a native application and you can watch any You Tube video through this app.
Safari is a great webrowser.  But if you want to wach any videos on iPad, find the App in the App store and you won't have any issues.  For example, you could be on CNN.com through Safari and if you try to click on a video, you likely won't be able to watch it.  But, if you download the CNN app from teh App Store, you'll be able to watch all CNN videos through the App.  It is a really logical and safe way to see what you want to see.

  • Best setup for playback of video in Keynote?

I use keynote on a daily basis and find inserting video elements can cause sputtery playback and even flash frames?!! which can be a bit of a problem on a 14meter screen!!
What is the ideal set-up for playing back video in keynote? I see that the video plays fine in quicktime but as soon as you inbed in keynote you get splutters and the odd flash frame.
Is there a recommended codec - max size/dimensions - prefured system configuration - hardware recomendations... I see I'm not the only one to have these problems...
Keynote is a great advancement over powerpoint and should be developed further, even a “designer” edition with more complex design/motion features for us that would like to push the bound’s…. THINK AFTER EFFECTS...
    Thanks,

I had this problem and it drove me batty. Went to Apple store and 'stumped the stars' with the issue. We tried changing compression to make video smaller, etc to no avail. Sometime video would even lock up.
I found the solution on this discussion board. Can't recall who to thank. I put the Keynote on an external drive to my MacBookPro. Now it worked much better. Occasionally I will get a short milli-second flash, but no sputtering or no locking up. So I just carry a 80GB external drive with me with my lecture on it an it works great. If you figure out how to get rid of the random flash let me know, on your 14 meter screen it will look like a nuclear test!
I think what happens when you drive an external projector, in addition to showing the instructors version on your MBP, it is simply too much for either RAM or hard drive to deal with fast enough. So when you put the presentation on an external drive it takes that load off your internal drive. Maybe that is not what really happens but sort of sounds logical. Let me know if it works for you, and let me know if you get (and later solve) the random flash

  • Hiding Video in Keynote

How would I hide a video in Keynote until I want to show it. I tried it a rough way by adding the quicktime video, adding an opaque 0% action before my bullets, then revealing it, then building the "start movie", then having it wipe away. Is there an easier way?

You can add a video and use a transition (appear)
Be careful with transitions, some video cards don't like graphics passing over a video when it is playing

  • How to import a video to photos

I am trying to use a video in keynote.  Each time I sync the video goes to "video" and not "photos".  Is there a way to determine were the file will go, as keynote only imports from " photos"?

    Labski-
I do not have Keynote, but you might look into this:  Run iTunes and select your iPad under DEVICES.  Click on Apps at the top of the window and scroll down to File Sharing.
If Keynote appears under File Sharing Apps, select it.  You should be able to drag a compatible file into the document window, or into a folder in that window.
After syncing, you will need to find out how Keynote on the iPad accesses shared files.
Something else to try, is to click on Photos at the top of the iTunes window and check the "Include Videos" box.  I don't know if that will do what you want, but is easy to try.
