How to (Fully) Format Nokia Asha 303..?!

Hi,
In my last old smart phone there was code to format it but i dont remember it and i dont know if it will work for asha or not,,So please i want (All) format ways which works for my Asha 303 mobile??!
*Are there any data will be exist (not deleted) or need to manually delete after this mobile format??
*Is formating mobile will affect on any data in memory card??

The Soft Reset thru' *#7370# seems to work on some of the recent S40 series Phones. You may try dialling the code and when prompted enter the Security code which is 12345 by default unless changed by you ..If it works, only the data in Phone memory will get erased ...

If it says like PUK disabled or card blocked then you need to change your sim card with same old number from your service provider.

NOKIA E-MAIL NOT WORKING ON NOKIA ASHA 303

So, I had my Nokia Asha 303 working perfectly with no bugs, no lag and good internet speed until I got this message asking me if I wanted to update my cellphone software to the v14.53. I accepted and left my phone on, with full battery, on a stable wifi connection without even touching it while the firmware was updating.
So far, so good. After it installed, all features of my phone kept working but the E-mail tool that came with the phone. The advantage of this tool for me is that I could just open a picture menu in the phone and click on "send" and the "e-mail" option would be just there. After I did this firmware update, not only my picture´s menu stopped showing the "e-mail" option on the "send" section, but I couldn´t even open the E-mail tool anymore. I would click to open it, and it just wouldn´t respond. Not even a error message.
I tried solving the problem by doing a hard format of the cellphone... making it go back to it´s factory´s configurations. It didn´t work.
I bough a data-transfer USB cable and tried to solve the problem with the Nokia Suite... all I could do was update the firmware to a newer version v14.60. But even that didn´t work. I tried to reinstall it... still... nothing.
Now... I have the feeling that, for some reason, the first firmware update I did deleted or corrupted the E-mail tool, making it impossible to restore it´s feature. Is there any way I could download the feature? Is there any other way to fix it?
I tried contacting Nokia´s Support by e-mail and phone but they said I´d have to send my phone by mail in order to be fixed and I just know that it will take a huge time till it gets solved...

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forum.
If a hard reset and reinstallation of the software have not resolved the issue, please visit a local Care centre where this can be fixed for you.
The Care centre will most likely be able to do this in the shop itself and so you won't have to send the phone for repair. If this is necessary after all they will able be able to give you an estimate of how long it will take to repair the phone and send it back to you.
You can find your nearest Care centre here.

Packet data settings in nokia asha 303

please tell me how to turn off packet data in nokia asha 303?i have to delete the gprs settings as soon as my net pack gets ovr. if i dont delete them then my balance is deducted aftr evry few minutes. i keep on receiving texts on whatsapp..is there any provision to switch it off when i dont want to use it????

Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum.
Turning the packet data completely off is not possible unless you're going to remove the packet data settings completely off the phone. However, in order for you to avoid unecessary charges, try to remove the whatsapp or any live widget (e.g social apps such as facebook or twitter, or even weather application) from the homescreen of your device. Since these are applications that require internet connection, if set on the homescreen, it'll continuously get live feeds and updates which means, it'll be using your data.

I think there is no Power Saver Mode in 303... But you can adjust Backlight timeout.... by Settings=>lights..

Dear all,
I bought Nokia (Asha) 303 a couple of years ago with the wish to browse the internet whenever I am close to WiFi network - which is both in my office and at home.
But, whenver I connect to internet, via the Nokia Browser, it consumes my credits like crazy. So much so that I am unable to use internet at all. For example, a couple of minutes ago, I paid ~ 8 CHF (like 8 USD) just to download the new version of Nokia Browser.
Is this the way it should be??? I doubt, because both my wife and my daughter are browsing carelessly using their devices - which are not Nokia 303.
I was playing with settings, and have:
WLAN search on;
WLAN first; and
Packett data - when needed.
Anything else I should do?

Software Update for Nokia Asha 303 v. 14.87

Im downloading maps yesterday via nokia suite when I found out that there is a new software update for my phone. V.14.85 here is the changelog
*Improved Features and Performance
*Updated Apps
*Improved stability
I dont know what apps are updated

I cannot update my Nokia Asha 303 to latest update v14.87 via Nokia Suite. I followed the instructions as guided by the software update wizard, but when I reach to install step following error occurs mentioned in pictures and this keeps happening even though I am not doing anything.

I have tried all the codes of restoring(soft restoring)(deep restoring) but only settings are being restored not the complete phone data
my phone has become very lazy...now tell me how to completely restore it ???

There is no known three key depressed power on combination for E5-00, but surprised that *#7370# doesn't not achieve what you require; as pointed out the next step would be to have device firmware completely re-installed.

is there a way to change the lock screen background of nokia asha 303?? and the time it takes before it locks automatically?

@Endyandrew those apps where proxy-based apps which relied on services run at Nokia. Nokia ceased to run those proxies in October and November 2014. if you are looking for alternatives, please, mention which services you used exactly, for example, which E-mail Service Provider. Depending on the social service, you might be better off switching the phone to a Google Android based one for example.

Big Fail in Nokia Asha 303 !

I bought Nokia asha 303 yesterday and it's awesome.. full speed, full performance , best design ... but what all this mean if I can't look to the screen cause of very high silly lights and it hurts my eyes badly .. and this handset hasn't screen brightness adjusting ,, so what can I do ? this situation isn't insufferable !!!

if you are finding it so bright that it hurts your eyes then your only realistic option is to return it to the retailer or sell it.

Nokia Asha 303 messaging problems

Hi there, ive been using nokia asha 303 since a week ago, i may say it is a very good phone so far. Although im having problems in messaging. Oftentimes, whenever i send messages, others receive it although sometimes it wont send even if my signal bars are full. Also, im not able to receive text messages as well, or if i do, i receive them after hours from the time they have sent it. It also has same problems in outgoing and ingoing calls too, but im pretty much more of a texter.. XD Id like to know whether its the device's network setting or if it's my service provider that is the problem. I havent inserted any other sim except of the same service provider because it is sim-locked to Sun Cellular. Ive tried sending and texting that number in the dual mode, 3G and GSM network mode, still the same outcome. My service provider is sun cellular, from the philippines. Answers and suggestions are very well appreciated. Thank you very much

Usually, call blocking is a feature you can get by downloading call blocker apps. Call Blocker apps are not available for S40 phones such as Asha 303. See this link for the explanation:

You can try to check with your network provider if they offer call blocking service.

Many Proplems in nokia asha 303

I Have 3 Proplems in nokia asha 303
First:when i updated nokia browser from 3 months each time i open it showing massege (conflicting app) and browser not open.
Second:from 6 months (social App who comes with mobile) have been broken same proplem in browser And Shortcut of social in home screen always Waiting and i can't change shortcut.
Third:when Social App Broken Chat App Broken Too .

Possible solution for your "conflicting application"
1. Backup all your files using Nokia Suite application. Check this link: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/nokia-suite/
2. After creating a backup, you need to restore the factory settings of your phone (Restore All). Menu > Settings > Restore factory settings > Restore All. If prompted for a lock code, enter 12345 unless changed.
Note: This will wipe all your data present in Phone Memory.
3. Install Opera Mini browser on your phone. You can either install it using the Nokia Store or using Nokia Suite on your computer.
4. Open Opera Mini on your phone and browse http://download.browser.ovi.com/
5. Try downloading Nokia browser again.

Nokia Asha 303 - Update 14.87 - internet always on

I just updated my asha 303 to version 14.87 and now my phone duplicated its apps and is always connected to the internet. If i disconnect wlan, a gprs connection switches on. How can I turn all connections off and connect only when I need them?
And if it's not possible, how can I go back to the previous update?
I already did a factory reset, but it didn't work...
My configurations are the following:
Settings/Connectivity/ Internet Connection -> Ask First
Settings/Connectivity/ Packet Data Connection --> When needed

Sounds like an app goes wild. Very difficult to track the one down which does this. Furthermore, because you have that duplicate app issue, I recommend: Nokia Suite » Menu » Tools » Software Update » there is a ‘reinstall’ below your phone, in that explanation. Did that help?
