How to fully remove programs?

hi all,
I've just installed realplayer from their site, and I just thought: how do I remove it? If I ever need to uninstall any program I haven't installed via pacman fully, and the corresponding installer does not have an "uninstall" option, what do I do?
Does this mean that the problem with Windows folders cluttering and filling with junk still hapens in linux? The perfect solution would be to remove everything related to the program fully, even the symlinks if any.
Help appreciated!

The different is the software will be manage by pacman so you can easily wipe out any file created when installing the software. This mean you will not have to delete all the files manually, just type pacman -Rcns $pkgname and all the installed files will be deleted (except maybe some configuration files in your home directory).

The apps are not actually in your iCloud storage, they are links to the apps in the App Store. What you are seeing is your purchase history and as such cannot be deleted.
You can however hide your purchases, which you can do from the QuickLinks > Purchased option from the main page in the iTunes Store on your computer.

I was freeing up disk space yesterday and uninstalling pre-installed progs that I dont need so I wanted to get rid of GarageBand. I dragged GarageBand from the Applications folder to Trash but that leaves all of its libraries on the drive. I had to use WhatSize to find them and remove them that way. Then other programs may come with uninstall instructions where you have to go to various folders and remove things manually. Is there no uninstaller on mac os?

Help - how to fully remove "Blackberry Desktop Software 6.1" splash

Some months ago, and purely as a favor I installed Blackberry Desktop Software V6.1 onto my PC (an old but faithful Vista box). I don't own or use a Blackberry (I prefer Nokia ... but what can you do, eh?) but someone who was visiting me did have a Blackberry and wanted to use it and access the Internet and asked if I could install this RIM software. A big mistake ... read on.
When the visitor had left, I naturally removed the Blackberry software (exactly as one does for all Windows based PC's). At the time, it seemed to have worked as this software disappeared from the set of installed programs.
Except that I clearly didn't remove it completely. Since that time virtually every time I use any software of any genesis that requires access to either image or video files (the most recent occasion being Picasa 3) I see a splash screen ...
... titled: Blackberry Desktop Software 6.1
... saying: The feature you are try to use is on a network resource that is unavailable
... and: Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Blackberry Desktop Software.msi' in the box below
I can cancel the splash and it simply re-starts. This splash is linked to a variety of different windows processes depending on the application (in the case of Picasa the process was called "moviethumbs") which I then had to remove by erasing the entire process tree with the Windows Task Manager. And it still re-started after a few seconds as long as the application was executing.
I have discovered (from various bloggers) that removing this Blackberry software using the Task Manager still leaves remnants and I've had to use the RegEdit utility to clean up RIM (& Puma Technology) entries as they suggest.
But the **bleep** splash still won't die - can anyone (maybe even the vendor) help me to remove every last trace of this benighted program?

To fully delete BlackBerry Desktop Manager what your going to do is go in to your Hard Drive and go into Appdata(For Windows7) and find Research In Motion Ltd delete that and your done!

How to FULLY remove metadata (author, file location, etc) of a PDF to really make it anonymous?

the dialog box gives the possibility to change or remove the authors.
However, other informations such as the location of the file are written in the PDF file,
and this can be an easy way to identify the author.

you can see this location (which display the full path and, e.g., your login if it is used in the path).
Location is just one example and perhaps there are other problems like that (?)
So, is there a robust way to remove ALL the metadata from a PDF file *** indepently on how it was generated *** ?

PS: There several discussions on this topic but I haven't found the answer to solve the problem globally

Best way if you have a large screen is to use command shift 4 and draw a box around the PDF image, a image file appears on your desktop.
Open that in the free LibreOffice drawing (several pages if needed) and then Print > PDF
No hidden meta data there.

I understand you can drag the app to the trash..but that doesnt fully remove all its components into the trash. How do i fully remove it???

Some apps leave other files behind and some are all self contained in the Applications folder. If there are files outside the Applications folder than the app should of come with an uninstaller or on the Software Vendor's Website in which they may have instructions on how to uninstall it. If you're talking about a programming app or an app that makes files like i.e. the Documents folder or the VIdeos folder than those are meant to be there because they have your personal data in them. If you don't mind me asking what app(s) are you having trouble removing?

One thing about Hazel that I love is that it runs in the background. Any file that I trash a window pops up showing all the straggler files w/select options for each straggler file to keep or trash.
Before I got Hazel, I noticed when I deleted an app after using it, the preference (plist) files have not been deleted when I manually checked. This also includes the apps that install through "packages."

Without being installed (by me) this "Dictionary.com" toolbar that appeared and is taking up a whole line of space across the top of my desktop monitor! I followed the procedure on how to remove the toolbar precisely... Start> Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs>
then clicked on the program > Remove which is "Dictionary.com" and the computer would not respond to the command. I cannot get it to respond to any program that I clicked on. When I clicked the "Remove" button , the area or line darkens to a light tan. and I cannot even close the menu.
This very strange and frustrating and I don,t know what to do.
I just want it removed or go away.

How do I remove an advertising program by the name of SmartSuggestor? I cant find it in the ad ons and I cant find it in my add remove programs on my pc.

I keep getting these stupid ads that are apparently from smartsuggestor but I cant find the program anywhere on my pc then I contacted the company and they tell me that it is a firefox issue yet i cant find it in the firefox settings either. I went into the Smart Suggestor site and the name of the extension/program came up as "No extension Found". I cant find anything that even resembles anything to do with the program at all not in the add remove program through control panel or through the extension plug ins area in firefox and was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
