How to Generate the web reporting ?

Hi Friends,
Can you send the web reporting doc for me please.
iam also new to web reporting and i dont know
1. How to start the generation of web reports?
2. what are the elements required to do this?
3. And how to see the results of this report?
4.Is there any special cofiguration require to do this?
And i know some elements require to do web reporting.
such as WAD,Query Template,WAS.what is relation between this i dont know. i did a lot R&D on this web reporting, but i cont get the idea of this.
my system have followings,
i have WAD, Enterprise Portal, BEx. pls tell me is enough to do web report or any thing still require.
pls send me or tell me how do step by step, first what i need to do,second what i need to do......?

How to embed the WEBI report as portlet

I am a fresh man of WEBI.
I want to know how to embed the WEBI report to a web page as the portlet (like weblogic portal).
I have used the OpenDocument URL to do it, but the report have a tool bar on the top, status bar on the bottom and a prompt area on left. So what i want to know is how to integrate the report itself on my portal (no tool bar, no status bar and no prompt area). Is there any way to control the display of these different area?

Normally there is not way to deactivate the statusbar and the toolbar. What you can do is to try to capture the HTML stream using javascript and filter out the toolbar components. This can be quite complicated though since the html structure of the report is quite complicated (multiple iFrame layers). And there is no garantee that this structure will remain inchanged in the next fix pack or service pack.
A rather simpe solution could be to "cover" the toolbar with an additional opaque frame.

Error getting,while generating the Webi report

while i am generatign the Webi report, i am getting below error.
com.jpmorgan.extraclear.reportservice.BOException: :generateReport :: Exception com.businessobjects.rebean.wi.ServerException: The number of simultaneous report jobs was limited to 10 by the system administrator. . Please try to reconnect later.[ RCIRAS0518 ]
please help me out.

I just got the same error message, but I try to open a DeskI in InfoView. This has nothing to do with the Web Intelligence Processing Server. But I had problems with the RAS (Report Application Server). A restart of the RAS didn´t help, so I restarted the BOXI-Server. Now everything is fine, but I still don´t know, what happens.
It would be great to know what the problem was.
Hope to get an answer.

How to schedule the webi report based on data changes in the report data

Hello,
I want to schedule a webi report based on data change in a column in the report.
The scenario is something like below:
1. If a data of a particular column changes from 2 to 3 than I would like to schedule this report and sent it to users mail box.
I know how to apply alerts or schedule a report or data tracking for capturing changes in the report but I dont know how to schedule the report only for data changes.
Anybody done this before.

How to recover the webi reports when os crashes

Bo was installed in D drive os was installed in c drive
if we install new os can we be able to recover the reports that were crated

I am assuming there is no backup. What I would is make a copy of your FRS (the location will be dependant on the version of XI that you have. It will be under Program Files\Business Objects unless you specifically set it up somewhere else. I would then reinstall the c drive and reinstall the BO product then point it at your db and copy back the FRS.

Not able to view the web report..

hi,
I have sap bw 3.0b and WAD installed. I am able to create a report in WAD and when i try to generate the web report, IE opens with an url starting as http://xxx.yyy.....
If my understanding is correct to view these WAD reports in my workstation I need to have Apache running so that the http://.... URL is resolved as appropriate.
If yes, then I need to know how to configure Apache , the port number etc.
If my understanding is not correct please let me know how i can view my report in the browser at my workstation.

In start up menu click on Run.
write "drivers". it'll open the "C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers" folder in new window.
Go to etc folder in that you'll find "hosts" file open it in notepad.
There maintain an entry for the server ip & hostname (system name) seperated by tab.
Example on "how to maintain the entry" is also provided in hosts file.

If this is the case, I think I will do the whole report generation without a dedicated Crystal Reports Server. I have compared different alternatives for replacing the old RDC component of the C++ application described above. I think the best way would be to replace it via the JRC API of CR4E 2.0. In this case, I would have to access the Java API via JNI or by calling an external Java program, which generates and exports the reports.
In both cases (CR Server vs. JRC API) I would have to implement new application logic. But a dedicated Crystal Reports Server needs to be maintained and administered... And I think the Crystal Reports Server would be a bit oversized for my purposes (generating and exporting reports)...
If somebody has got other suggestions for replacing the RDC component (CR XI R2) inside a C++ application in order to use this application under Linux, I would be thankful .

Open the WebI report from Xcelsius dashboard

Hi All,
I would like to know how to open the WebI report from the xcelsius dashboard.
Looking at the previous posts I followed the following steps to implement the same but that is not working.
Inserted the component URL button and used the folowing link:
http://servername/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sType=wid&sIDType=XXX
But this is givingerre: " Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
Also, tried the copying the reprot link, but that is opening the Infoview login page.
I want the report to opened when we click the URL button.
Could someone please provide me a solution.

did you try passing the iDocID parameter? When prompted did you try to login to InfoView and check whether Report gets displayed?
Ideally the URL should be as below:
[http://<server>:<port>/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=<cuid_of_the_document>]
If you want to bypass the logon screen,you need to modify the OpenDocument.jsp to pass logon token to the above URL i.e.token=+token where the +token is being retrieved by sdk.

How to disable the reminding dialog when close the webi report viewer
Background
When user close the webi report viewer in inforview by click the button in the right-top of the webi report viewer frame. It always prompt a dialog to remind user that the modification will be lost without saving.
But customer need to disable this dialog, and can clost the report viewer directly.
So is there any ways to modify this?
I think it shoule modify some .js file under tomcat, but can not find the solution.

I've had the same issue bugging me since installing Snow, er, lion, er, cat, er, cougar, er, Mountain Lion. Incredibly ANNOYING.
It's stupid stuff like this and reverse scrolling that really turn long-timer users off. I'm personally glad Forstall got fired for blunders such as these.
I'm serious peeved that turning off iCloud Documents & Data actually deletes documents and data locally. That's just incredibly stupid.

How to apply Table level Break in the WEBi Report

How we can apply the table level break in the WebI Report.
I know a bit bt i dont know its right or wrong.. Initally we normally create a table(with the values(which has 2rows(1: for naming and 2: for associating the object with it at down of it ie., one above and one below)) and at the top of that present table we will insert a "ROW ABOVE" to the naming row and then we insert a "Row below" to the object values and drag the first coloumn of the first row almost invisible(naming row) and then the same in next row(objects associating values for naming)... is this ryt.. if NO thn let meknow the various ways to do it..

here is the query to fetch only webi reports:
Open Administration Launchpad (.Net / Java) from:
Start >> All Programs >> BusinessObjects XI Release 2 >> BusinessObjects Enterprise >
Click on the 'Query Builder' under 'Administration Tools' on the left pane.
Logon to Query Builder using Enterprise Administrator credentials.
Run the following query for Web Intelligence Reports:
SELECT SI_ID, SI_NAME, SI_OWNER FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_KIND='WEBI'

In BI 7.0 the Queries which u devoleped can be broad casted by using two ways .
1. Enterprise portal
2.Web Application Designer(WAD)
So you can choose any of the option, For the Option 1 you should have seperate server for the EP or else For option 2 you have to make some setting in the BI system to enable the Web reports..
