Hi everyone,
I am a PhD student doing embedded system development. As the flash lite for digital home is pretty attractive to me, I am wondering how to get a copy of stagecraft (flash lite 3.1) source distribution. I cannot find download link anywhere. Does it require a license or is it free? Can anybody tell me how to get a copy of that. Your help will be highly appreciated.

How to get FF browser to play Flash?

I just updated my QT Pro to 7.2 and strangely now Firefox and
Netscape Navigator (both latest) browsers won't display or play any
Flash on our site. I get nothing or a quick flash (no pun intended)
of the QT logo...
I've tried to go to Firefox, prefs, file types, manage, but I
can't seem to add or find any files except adobe pdf. How do I
rectify this in FF and Navigator? These browsers played flash fine
until I updated to QT Pro 7.2.

Thanks for your follow-up. I tried it on my new Mac Pro. I
had been getting Flash to play normally. Then, perhaps due to an
update of FF, it stopped and started displaying the QT logo with a
question mark. I reinstalled Flash Player 9 this morning, and
things went back to normal. Then later in the day Flash went back
to the QT logo and ?. I tried more reinstalls of FP 9. Tried
trashing Firefox and working only with Safari. Tried your idea of
upgrading to QT 7.2. No luck. BIG DIFFERENCE: I am trying to use QT
Player, rather than QT Pro. I guess I'll try that next. Will post
results.

How to get the same look as flash for borders?

Hi i have selected circle and filled the circle with some color. now i want to have border around the circle so i have saelected stroke from the edit menu and applied with one pixel. how ever it is not giving a solid look as in flash. in photoshop the border looks like disolved and transparent. is there a way to get the same look as flash?

Look at the image. i have described everything there in the image itself. even when we use layer style it is the same problem. is there a way to resolve this? the text in the image is as below.
if u carefully observe the circle pointed there is a slight gap between the border and the filled color. This is not good. i dont want any gaps between the border and the filled color. I have used bucket to fill the circle and used stroke from edit menu to get the border for the circle.

What happens when you try and download from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer? Does the download start? Are you unable to find the downloaded file? Does the installer fail? If so, do you get an error message?

USB Controller Driver cannot be found? How to get a copy....

My USB Controller on my mother board keeps comming up as uninstalled drivers. I have XP with SP-1 installed. This is happening all of a sudden. It has been working fine form many months. I cannot force the system to find the drivers, and the MSI site has none to download. Has anyone seen this happen before, or do you have any suggestions on how to get my USB ports working again.
I have already deleted the controller device and tried to let auto detect install the drivers. It still cannot find them on the system or the CD that came with the mother board.
Any help is appreciated.

that is strange cause any windows later than 95 auto detects system devices. And can you tell us what board do you have in your system. if you write to this forum you must have a via chipset motherboard so goto Via Arena and download latest chipset drivers.

As I know, unlike desktop PC player, there is no progressive load capability with Flash Lite.
May be there is one option for FL3 is to stream a mp3 from Flash media server or compatible server. You might also be able to use the FL2 video object to stream audio only 3gp or aac audio from RTSP server.
I can not say this is proper way but hope you will be succeed.

How to get Android IMEI / UDID with Flash CS6?

Hi. I understand that a Native Extension is needed to get the IMEI or UDID of the Android device. I found one here:

I ran the compiled sample this site provided and it retrieved my IMEI fine, so I know it works.
However, the code for this sample is in Flex. When I tried to incorporate it into my Flash CS6 .fla it didn't work. There were no errors, but when I ran in on the Android device nothing happened when I clicked on the button to retrieve the IMEI. I don't know what went wrong. Here is what I did:
1. First, I imported the "IMEI.ane" file using the steps below:

2. Then in my AIR 3.2 for Android settings I included the "IMEI.ane" file in the publish General settings.
3. In my program there is a textbox and a button. When the button is clicked with a mouse, it calls the function below and places the returned string in the textbox. I know the string to textbox part works, however, when I call the function below it doesn't.

As usual, this problem which frustrated me for days had a very simple solution. To others who also ran into the same problem, remember to set Android's READ_PHONE_STATE permission to TRUE. And voila! It will work.
