How to get a not-quite-fresh start?

Background:
Old Macbook Pro died yesterday. (details unimportant, was planning to replace soon anyway)
New Macbook Pro will arrive tomorrow.
I have an up-to-date Time Machine backup.
Over the past four years, I filled up the old machine with all sorts of clutter, most of which I don't need or want. I do want to transfer my mailboxes in Mail, my iTunes and iPhoto libraries, and a few specific subdirectories of my Documents folder. Is there an easy way to just get these few things, or am I better off using Setup Assistant to transfer everything, then pruning ruthlessly?

you can go to service.sap.com/notes to browse note than in sap go to snote (tcode) to download and apply it .

How to get a note to carry over to the next measure?

I want to know how to "slide" into the one beat from the 15/16 beat of the previous measure. In other words, how can I get a note to cross over from one measure to the next?

Thanks for bearing with me.
I created a region (up in the track timeline) which spans two measures. When I pencil in a note in the grid below (in Piano Roll) near the end of measure one, I cannot extend it or drag it into measure two (even though they both reside in the same region). Even stranger, whatever note I write into the grid in measure one gets "ghost" duplicated in measure two.

I'm getting a not-quite crash in which I lose ability to interact with the window at all. Is there any way to fix the problem itself? All I can do is an inconvenient "fix" in which I open a new window, and it works in the second window for some reason.

I'm experiencing a not-quite-crash every time I attempt to open firefox on my new computer. What happens is that the menu bar (which I prefer to have visible instead of that orange single-button menu) has all the letters on it turn gray, and I lose my ability to click anywhere on the page, including to close it. If I attempt to close the page via the taskbar it doesn't let me. It does, however, let me open new windows via the taskbar which don't have the same problem, which allows for an easy-but-inconvenient fix. I've tried it out and it does not have the same problem in Safe Mode. As a result of not being a "true" crash I can't give a crash ID, so you won't be able to trace it that way, sorry.

''Fix:'' Uninstall the toolbar. Disable NoScript. Install the toolbar. Add your RS account to it and make sure it works, then Enable NoScript again.

How to get instance notes in a global

I have a global in a utility project that gets called through PAPI WS from an external client.
I want this global to take an instance id as the input argument. It should then get a reference to the instance, get the instance notes currently associated with that instance and pass them back (as an array of delimited strings). The instance will be residing in one of many other projects.
I can use PAPI in the global to connect to a BusinessProcess:

and I can get a reference to the instance using bp.getInstance(), but I can not see anywhere in any of the PAPI methods where I can get the instance notes for that instance.
BTW I am using both ALBPM 5.5 and 6.0, so I need a solution for both.
Basically this external client wants to get instance notes for a given instance (and there is other processing I need to do as well - I need to add in custom notes from a custom table before I return the results, so they can't just use PAPI WS directly to get the instance notes).

I ran into this problem and requested from Product Management that they allow PBL code to get instance notes, audit info, etc. It's been a while since I've run into this problem but I'm sure it's the same issue. You can only get information about the instance notes, audit info, etc from PAPI.
The architecture of BPM is such that the BPM workspace actually uses PAPI to do all its work. So in other words anything the workspace does, PAPI can do. But from within a process, PBL code doesn't have access to all PAPI functionality. You may want to raise this issue up with product management and see if they have any recommendations.
BTW - It is not recommended to instrospect BPM tables to use from within your process. Although this would solve your problem, it is not recommended...

Hi, Lately, when I start up my machine and get onto wifi, i get a pop add from zipcloud asking me to sign up for a free acount. this only happend a few weeks ago, and doesnt depond on which wifi or internet carrier. how do i get rid of that?

Quit Safari.
Hold the shift key down and relaunch Safari.
Reset Safari.
Click Safari in the menu bar.
From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
Uncheck the boxes besid all items.
Just check ony the box beside 'Remove all website data".
Click "Reset".
Empty Caches
Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
Turn off Extensions if any, and launch Safari.
Safari > Preferences > Extensions

How to get deleted programs in the start menu?

Hi,
I foolishly deleted (by accident) my all programs folder on the start menu.
This has emptied the programs folder on the start menu through windows explorer as well.
I still have access to all of my programs by searching for them or by going through program files. How can I rebuild my start menu back to the original WITHOUT reinstalling windows or anything like that.
Unfortunatly, I can't do a restore because it is set to do a clean up of all old restore points, and it did this about 5 minutes before the problem occured.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Is there any way of getting all of the links back without having to do them manually.
There must be a way of restoring or forcing the computer to research for all of the installed programs on the "Vista C" drive. I have tried going through the RegEdit but that hasn't helped at all. The CMD code that I got off another forum doesn't work either.

I just downloaded about 10 podcasts, and this is the first time that I have downloaded any podcasts. I noticed that when I started playing my music that the podcasts are also in my music lineup, and therefore they also play with the music alphabetically. I would like to seprate my podcasts from my music. How can I do this?

You can create a "Music Only" smart playlist in iTunes with the settings:
Select "match all of the following rules" and set filters:
Kind - contains - audio
and
Genre - is not - Podcast
This playlist will exclude podcasts and anything not audio (eg videos). In the future you can add additional filters to exclude audiobooks, etc. If you want to play music, just play this playlist.

How to get back notes after the Note app updates

I erased everything off my Macbook Pro to clean it but i used TimeMachine to restore any wanted files and software. However, i can't find where my old notes would be. I've also updated to the latest operating system, which could affect things i'm guessing? Could someone please tell me how i can get my old notes back using TimeMachine or if there is a way at all now that i've update OS?

Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tap your Yahoo account and make sure Notes syncing is turned on.

What is the best way to get an arbitrary # of blank records at the start of report output?
I am writing a report that will be printed out on label sheets -- some of which might already be used. For example, there might be 3 labels per page but the first 2 have been used the last time the report was run.. so the report needs to display 2 blank records first so that the first record that gets printed on a label is in the 3rd position on the page. (the user would indicate - through a parameter - what the starting postion would be)

Create a user parameter that reads in the number of blanks you need to 'print' before starting the actual printing.
In the Format trigger of the outermost frame of your report write code using SRW.SET_BEFORE_PRINTING_CODE.
Loop this method based on the user parameter and call this method with skip-line-command of your printer as its argument.

How to get windows partition back on start up disk

I have used boot camp partition (windows) for months without any problem. I recently installed VM ware fusion. But unfortunately it did not work properly so I had to uninstall it.
Now I can no longer reboot from 'system preferences / start up disk' since the windows partition no longer appears beside OS X.
Can somebody help me?

NB I can still reboot windows when I restart the computer with alt key pressed.

How to get correct note notation in score?

The problem, in a nutshell, is that in some cases (see below) half notes are represented in the score as tied quarter notes, and I can't seem to do anything to change it.
Here's the piano roll of the first measure (V - V7 - I). This is 4/4 time. Note the combined quarter and half notes in the first two beats, and half notes only in the last two beats of the measure.
Here is the corresponding score.
Note that the B and D are tied quarter notes. (With some quantizations, this can really get ugly.) I want them to be half notes, which is standard notation. Is there any way to do this?

You need to use a polyphonic Staff Style to do this:
Individual notes are assigned to the voices by MIDI channel. You can do this with the Voice Separation tool, in the Event list or by key command.
