How to get a photo out of the trash

I accidentally moved a photo into the trash on my iphone.  Is there any way to retrieve it?

Only if you have a backup of the phone with that photo on it. If you do, you can restore to that backup. Remember everything done since that backup would be lost.
While it shows a trash can when you delete things, it is not like the Recycle Bin or Trash on a computer.

  • How to get deleted photos back in the trash can?

I tried to dele all the photos I've deleted from iPhoto by cmd+delete all the photos in the iPhoto trash can, but that only made all the photos reappear in iPhoto.
How do I get the deleted photos back in the trash can?
I discovered this the next time I turned on my mac, so I couldn't just "go back".
I really don't wanna go trough ALL of my pictures and delete the thousands of pictures I've deleted over the past three years..
I now know how to delete dem properly, but not how to get them all back in the trash can. Please help me!
    Ida

There's no way to do that. If you try and trash thousands of photos at one go you'll trash the Library - which is what sounds like you've done.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Can't get photos out of the trash?

I just tried using iPhoto Diet on my library (around 10,000 photos & 9GB). It moved a bunch of photos into the Trash that, it turns out, aren't duplicates. So, I want to take them out of the Trash and put them in my main library.
The trouble is, I can't seem to do that. I've created a new folder to put the files into, but when I drag the photos out of the trash the icon never changes to the green "plus" sign that you normally see. I've tried using the "Export..." command but it's greyed out.
Is there any way I can get these photos out of the Trash? I'm a little confused right now! This is iPhoto 6.0.5 under OS X 10.4.8 (PPC).

    Hi Terrence,
Sorry, you're right: what I meant was that I couldn't put them back in an Album, not a Folder. Interestingly enough, I just created another Album and tried it again. I selected all the photos (around 900) that were in the iPhoto Trash, then dragged them into my new album.
The cursor turned into the green "plus" icon as if it were ready to let me move the files out of the Trash. Then, strangely, iPhoto didn't draw a black box over the destination album like it normally does. I clicked on the new album I'd just created, and it was empty. Stranger still, it looks like the photos have all been put back in their correct albums?!

  • Simple question: I can't get my files out of the trash and back in iMovie

I was working on a project just now and iMovie crashed on me. Fortunately, all the clips I was importing were saved in the iMovie trash, but I can't drag them out of the trash and back into the clip menu! There's got to be something simple I'm doing wrong. Help!

If the project is saved on an external drive, check the disk format. And rule out software compatibility issues with third-party iMovie plug-ins and QuickTime codecs.

  • HT1766 How can I get a photo out of the iPhone camera roll to use in an email or another program

I have photos of my car that I took with my iPhone. I'd like to use them for an advertisement to sell the car. How do I get them off the phone or out of the backup folder that iTunes produces when I back up my phone. I'm using a Windows 7 computer.

Thanks, but I figured it out. I just had to find the files in Windows under what would be considered a "drive." Once there, the photos all show up in a folder as JPEG files. Got the ones I needed.

  • How do you get a clip Out of the trash.

My imovie quit on me and now my clip is in the trash. Does any one know how to get it out?

Sometimes third-party iMovie plug-ins and QuickTime add-ons can cause such problems. I suggest looking for and disabling if found.

  • How to get my photos printed with the full image?!

I just bought iLife and when I select certain cropped photos to print, the top of someone's head gets cut off in the the photo. If I change sizes of prints or rotate the photo, it cuts off different amount of head but never gives the full image. I did not have this problem with iphoto before I installed this new version. I need to have access to printing photos. I use Canon MP500, ibook G4 and Airport Express for wireless printing. I think the prob is iLife cuz it didn't do this before in iPhoto and I have no prob with other applications. Help!!!!!!

Select the photo you want to print, and click on Edit. Then click on Crop, and a drop-down menu will appear. Use this menu to select the photo size that you want to print. Then use the cropping frame to get the photo the way you want. It is important to select the correct size of the printed photo because the ratios of length to width are not the same from one size to another. For example, a 4 x 3 is closer in shape to a square than is a 5 x 7. You might have to try different photo sizes from the drop-down menu to get he result you want.

  • IPhoto from 10.4 to 10.5 is it compatible? Can't get my photos out of the database

Can anyone help.  I have a manual and a time machine backup before my computer went to apple for repair.  My hard drive was replaced but I had my time machine back up.  Once I updated from time machine there were no photos.  I grabbed my iPhoto Library backup and the new iPhoto won't import?  How can I take at least my old iPhoto library and extract or how to convert so the new iPhoto can read it.  Time machine failed me.

Your Users -> yourname -> pictures folder should have not just the library XML file, but supporting folders for your picture library.  Open iPhoto, and hold command-option.    It will let you select the XML file in your Pictures folder and rebuild your iPhoto library from there.

  • How to get my photo files on the left panel for easy access?

I have been opening my pictures file from my computer and dragging the pictures from the my computer window to the project bin and then each picture pops up in a window overlapping eachtother. in the video i watched, she easily accessed her pictures from her computer files from a pane in the left side of adobe Can anyone help me? Im very new to this and need all the help i can get in the simplest terms thanks!

I assume you are talking about Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor...
There is a Project bin which is shown in the bottom by default and can be moved to left. Project Bin displays all the files currently open in Editor.

  • A dvd will not eject from my brand new IMac. I have done every suggestion in the help area. Any suggestions on how to get this DVD out of the computer?

My brand new IMac will not eject a DVD. I have tried everything that was suggested in "help". It didn't recognize the dvd, and whenever I try to eject it, it is not highlighted. I have tried to restart while holding the track pad, and nothing happened at all. The dvd is from the library...so it needs to be returned! Any other suggestions?

Have you tried all of these?
    1. Pressing the Eject key while opening the iMac.
    2. Pressing the Eject key while closing down the iMac.
    3. Holding down the Option key while restarting the iMac.
    4. Using Disk Utility to try to Mount, Repair and Eject the disk.
    5. Holding down the Mouse while restarting the iMac.
    6. Pressing the O and F keys while closing down the iMac.
    7. Opened Applications > Utilities >Terminal and typed in 'drutil tray eject'.
